Yes, overkill, fatigue and competitiveness is issue but its part of the deal when competition gets bigger.

I agree with your idea about adding more teams, but this isn't really feasible currently due to the pandemic and it will take several years for the world economies to fully recover which is why your idea could be implemented only after a couple of years.

I am fine with any number of teams to be honest as long as they include an optimal mix of local and popular international players.

I guess that wouldn't be a problem. Teams can be grouped and thus match can be reduced as we see in the ICC world cup and so. But a league system where each team faces all the rest team would be very time consuming and so muh boring at the end of the day. I would be more entertained if there were another form of competition like t10.

I am going against you because I am feeling more teams more foriegn players mean more entertainment more resouces and more money for BCCI its really gone be a great for me like English Premier League which is one of world's most entertaining and viewed soccer leage so IPL already have this tag but after these changes they can take more from sponsors and media rights as well.

I don't think it will be a good idea to include more foreign players as the purpose of the such league is to encourage and find out local players. If you give more chances to local players, more talent will be found. However, if number of teams get increased significantly, allowing more foreign players would make sense but I doubt the quality of the tournament will be remained as now it is. The competition will be too poor.

Am not really sure about the 12 team format. We all saw what happened when they tried including more teams in the past. They are planning on including one team this time around due to the new stadium in Ahmedabad based on my research.

If BCCI get their act together then i believe they can build up at least 16 strong teams for IPL, resource/manpower are not the problem here IMO. If 6 foreign players sounds too much then may be 5? Every franchise already facilitating 4 intl players in the squad anyway.

5 international + 6 local players in each squad sounds reasonable. Adding more teams insure more chances to local players as well.

--8 teams * 7 local players each team = 56 local players
--12 teams * 6 local players each team = 72 local players
So on....

Mr. Patt Cummins ( KKR )- 15.5 Crores
Mr. Glenn Maxwell (KXIP) - 10.75 Crores
Mr. Chriss Morris (RCB) - 10 Crores
Mr. Sheldon Cotrell (RCB) - 8.5 Crores

Out of these four, Maxwell was perhaps the biggest disappointment. Cummins started badly, but he regained his form later. Morris was not given enough opportunities as he was ignored during the earlier phase. But when he was included in the playing XI, he performed exceptionally. And finally, Cottrell was doing OK, until that fateful match against RR. Just one bad over against Lord Tewatia, and he could never regain his form.

The innings from Rahul Tewatia was something special, he was struggling in the beginning and everyone was cursing him and then he produced one of the most clean striking i have seen under pressure, Kings XI sidelining Gayle and then on his return he produced match winning performance and they started winning matches and KKR not playing Lockie Ferguson and then when he got the selection came in a won them the game.

There were some spectacular catches and boundary saves but we saw many drop catches and miss fielding in this years IPL.

Congrats to all the winners .

Ambanis just keep getting richer and richer. MI won the final in such a convincing way that most of the players weren't ecstatic when they won.

Biggest disappointment among the players that you listed has to be Maxwell. His batting and bowling were underwhelming while Cummins bowled badly, but batted decently now and then.

Morris and Cottrell were pretty underwhelming too overall(Cottrell will probably never forget Tewatia).

Haha I won't say it's Ambani Magic that's making him win IPL every year but his team has won IPL in 4 out 6 years under the BJP government Grin

. Yeah even I was surprised too see reaction or MI after the win it was like they have been selected for playoffs. Maybe it was because match was that one sided or i don't know what. Cottrell maybe didn't get a way with Dubai pitches. Chris Jordan was having similar issues he took a lot of matches to settle down Cottrell wasn't lucky to get that many chances. I think today in T20 cricket opening overs are about swinging the ball and death overs are about yorking the ball if you can't do either of that you are going to be in a deep trouble because very few get that line and length right.

Sorry for being late! Congratulations to Mumbai Indians and obviously our winner. Rajavu, Royse and Pffrt. I think the end of IPL wasn't that exciting the way the matches in the middle were. Even all the qualifiers and eliminators remained pretty one sided until the very end. Hoped to see better matches but it is how it is. Now we people have to find something else to do in our lives Grin

I am sure Indian media would be ready to throw up another issue for our entertainment pretty soon to divert our minds.

This season was full of surprises and shocks but at the end good team win and we have really interesting cricket after very long time I was not 100% as have many serious troubles around me but still try and have some good picks hopefully in next season we will have this again and able to do fun like this I was expecting Vishnu in top three but we have better tipster and they done good job congrats to all winners and good luck.
