I pretty much support advent of woman cricket but personally I don't find it as entertaining. I know judging a female match in comparison to a men's match would always make the comparison look one sided but I feel that the energy is somewhat missing in female games. The games are too slow. Not because of run rate but the whole context of the games move slow. Earlier I thought It's because of no crowd but after watching IPL without crowd I still feel women's cricket is not worth the watch.

I have talked to a lot many female cricket fans. Ironically, less than 10% of them have ever watched a ladies cricket match. That tells a lot about the popularity of women's cricket in India. I am not going to blame the women. In Australia, they have the WBBL, which gives the players a lot of exposure. But here in India, we don't have anything of that type.
I think viewership itself is the biggest issue. In India there is almost negligible viewership of women's cricket despite of having such brilliant players. We lover to admire these players by reading the news of their score the next day. Rarely anyone would watch it live. This doesn't motivates BCCI to create a full fledged women's IPL they are trying with these small triangular series tactically keeping the matches on rest day of men's matches but yet I don't think the viewership would have gone up that much. Cricket is a profit making business in India no one wants to lose money by organizing a cricket match.

Congratulations Rajavu and Haunebu the fight on superbru has been pretty interesting too.
Main issue is what do you guys are doing today at 7:30? Looks like end of IPL is going to bring those same old boring days back.  Even though Australian tour is coming but IPL has it's own fun.
From last 19th we had IPL every day and after 24 days we have a break. I do not mind having this holiday LOL
By the way, there are a ladies 3 team tournament in Sharja ground which will start today at the same time. I am not into it, but I am wondering are they going to play in the same pitch where we had IPL? It will be unfair for them not to have a fresh pitch. Lately all those pitches are slow and old because of last 24 days heavy service. Those ladies should have a new pitch :-D

We have round 7 winner and it's kpk333 as known as Haunebu. Great round buddy. Surprisingly you were able to manage a slam point for the first time in this pool. Congrates!
Just did some research regarding slam points and learnt that a slam point is granted if you predict 5-7 matches correctly in a round. Wish there were 8 matches in this round since predicting 8 in a row grants 2 slam points.

Am surprised that no one were able to predict 5 matches in a row correctly among all rounds apart from me.

Main issue is what do you guys are doing today at 7:30? Looks like end of IPL is going to bring those same old boring days back.  Even though Australian tour is coming but IPL has it's own fun.
Very true. Am going to miss watching IPL since it's so entertaining. This pool made it even more enjoyable. The organizers should be congratulated for managing to properly take care of everyone from the pandemic.

Also, check this out guys. It's absolutely hilarious.

Dominating? Don't want to sound cocky but this looked like an either a fixed match or a completely deliberate attempt by Mumbai Indians to lose the match.
Seriously? This is the IPL where you need to expect the unexpected. MI is not a perfect team which wins all the time. SRH would have won 18 points just like MI of they hadn't botched 2 easy games(2 runs in 1 ball against KKR and 120 something target against Punjab).

This fixed match excuse makes you sound like Umer. SRH destroyed MI fair and square and that is a fact.

Congratulations man! That was insane streak, 7 on 7, bingo! It's your bad luck that this round only had 7 games else you would have surely beaten amishmanish's record.
Thanks. I am actually on an 8 win streak since I won the bet on the last match of the previous round. Also, I still think you can beat Rajavu since the playoff matches usually grant extra points.
I actually am concerned about the performance of MI yeah it's unpredictable but still the margin of win looks fanatic. I mean it looked like both teams played on absolutely different pitches in both innings. But yes it's easy to say it's fixed by sitting here like it goes for every match.

Rajavu is making good picks, and he is well ahead than anyone else. So if he ends up picking the right team then for others there will be no chance. The points for the upcoming matches are below which could be good for others if Rajavu starts making bad picks :-D

Edit: OP updated with round winner: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/bitcointalk-ipl-prediction-pool-discussion-5114470
And FYI, there are no round winners from now on.

Only 4 matches left and still 4 points to catch up, I don't think Rajavu will lose to me. Only 8 more points to make and I want 5 points margin over him, looks next to impossible task. Let's see.
It is possible for you to win, i was not very good at margin points in the start of the tournament and the reason i took it seriously was i saw you picking many margin points in one round and that made me think what i was doing wrong and that motivated me to play a little careful in picking the margin and it was successful because of pure luck  Cheesy.

That was pretty unpredictable. What happened with KXIP in first innings happened with SRH in the second innings. I think KXIP knew that the problem with SRH is that they don't have depth in their batting order at took advantage of the same. Now SRH is out of this tournament too. So the main fight is between KKR and KXIP and obviously KXIP's  next match with KKR will once again be decided for them. I thought it would be a narrow win but SRH played so bad that they lost comfortably  Roll Eyes the saddest person today would be Warner followed by @webtricks  Grin

Can't tell how much I waited to reply to this post with this (pictures speak louder than words):

Finally SRH is through once again, couldn't be happier!

Hahaha! Well pictures do speak louder than words and all I can say after that image is this:

Lol! But don't be too quick in celeberations Webby! Eliminator is between RCB and SRH. Even though RCB are famous for their choking at the end but I don't think SRH should in any way take them lightly. The best thing now is that there won't be any more matches on the ground of Sharjah. That ground is a joke in name of International cricket Stadium. Even my school cricket ground was larger than that.  Grin Grin

So we finally have our play-off teams, one of the most exciting IPL ever. I don't think there's any other league in the world, no matter the sport, which is as close as IPL! All 8 sides are almost equally good and even up till end it was impossible to 100% accurately predict the winner of any game before hand. Even on sportsbook, the odds for every game were in range of 1.67 - 2.30 before the start. Moreover, the current table topper in pool has only 62.5% accuracy rate, followed by 53.5% and 55.35% respectively. The whole tournament had been 'flip of a coin' mostly.

So we finally have:

Q1: MI vs DC
Eli: SRH vs RCB.

From Q1, I can see DC qualifying for the finals. Meanwhile, SRH is on hot-streak after making tactical changes and bringing Saha and Holder into the squad. Squad is more balanced than ever and I think they can easily beat RCB, the team which has lost all of its last 4 games.

SRH will once again better MI in second qualifier imo and I am routing for DC vs SRH final. Although, I am SRH supporter, I think DC will lift the trophy this year. So it's like mind says Delhi, heart says Hyderabad. Cheesy

What a round. Got all of them right though I couldn't beat Hector's record of 11 points in a single round. Webtricks is catching up with Rajavu which means Rajavu might not end up taking the 1st place.

Damn you Rohit, he's back in team and everyone thought his injury was very serious that's why selectors didn't select him for Australia tour, Sahi drama hai!!

MI going without Bumrah/Boult and one less batter Hardik. SRH's fans might fancy their chance and KKR's fans should start praying.
This was really expecting from MI as they was already in play off's and they need give rest to some players before very important play off match KKR fans really heart break kids because they done very good in last few matches they lost their all touch and pay for this because I was also sure they are going in spot for play off but sadly poor NRR also against them.

Haha why are you going so much against SRH?
No solid reason but my money on the line lol, outright bet on KKR winning the tournament -Facepalm- so please don't blame me if i sounds biased.  Wink

But as of now things are not looking good for MI and KKR  Roll Eyes. SRH dominating the Mumbai tonight.
Dominating? Don't want to sound cocky but this looked like an either a fixed match or a completely deliberate attempt by Mumbai Indians to lose the match. I understand that there was no Bumrah or Trent Boult in the team but Pattinson and Coulter-Nile along with Chahar and Krunal are pretty decent bowlers you can't expect them not to take even a single wicket in the whole match and that too a match on which almost everybody has eyes on. If SRH are performing this good I would be surprised to see them not winning the IPL trophy this time. MI batsmen struggled like hell on this pitch and ground while Warner and Saha made this pitch look like a flat batsmen's paradise. Round-7 which was expected to be most thrilling actually didn't have even a single close last over encounter all matches were comfortable/easy wins.

MI shouldn't have fiddled with their combination as I mentioned in one of my earlier posts. This thrashing loss proves that they aren't that mighty even though Boult and Bumrah were missing.

It would be pretty interesting to see the match today. I think it would also depend on Mumbai which team they want to see in the playoffs. I know some might think that every team is there to play and win and Mumbai will do the same. But I have played such team sports, at the back of your mind in such situations you know which team you think is better among the two and you even unconsciously perform accordingly.[quote
Yup, it happens all the time when you are the one holding the Wild card entry and i hope they go for direct kill against SRH.

KKR would be very pissed if MI rest their main players  Undecided . Rohit is already struggling with the injuries so he's already out of the picture. Hope they don't change their bowling lineup and if they want to rest their batsmen then they should start with the Saurabh Tiwary.

I hope that MI change their bowling lineup. Bumrah needs some rest ahead of the playoff matches, and the other pacers (Boult/Pattinson) have been leaking a lot of runs. Players such as Mitchell McClenaghan and Dhawal Kulkarni deserve at least one chance in this IPL. Also, I would like to see Sherfane Rutherford and Chris Lynn in the top order. Maybe they could replace one overseas bowler with an overseas batsman?
You are just being Anti KKR  Grin

Having said that McClenaghan seems good addition to the team if Pattinson sitting out (Or both Boult/ Pattinson), not sure about Kulkarni Sahab. Only 3 games left for Bumrah and he's in good touch so personally i don't want to disturb his rhythm by resting him. I don't think they are going to change much in batting order.
Haha why are you going so much against SRH? I mean SRH have played well too. Best part is that they are the only team which I think were most late to find their best combination and yet have performed pretty decently winning a few matches here and there. Moreover for MI today it was understandable to give rest to Bumrah but rest to Hardik Pandya was a surprise. He hasn't bowled in this tournament and hasn't even batted that much. Is he injured or what? But today MI would definitely feel handicapped without Bumrah. Bumrah is always like the SOS Emergency call for Mumbai Indians whenever they feel they are stuck in the game he would be their wild card. I think SRH should try to restrain the batting of MI because the bowling today doesn't looks that good without Bumrah and Boult. But even if today MI wins I think they deserve to win the IPL and SRH don't really deserve to be in playoffs.

Bad suggestions. Why make changes when the team combination is pretty much perfect just for one match? Underestimating SRH is stupidity given the form they are in. MI should give it their without making any pointless changes.

I disagree when you say that the MI team combination is perfect. Their pacers (apart from Bumrah) have gone for a lot of runs. Trent Boult has taken the wickets, but he has conceded too many runs in pressure situations. There is nothing wrong with giving one match to Mitchell McClenaghan. Who knows? He may end like Lockie Ferguson in KKR. If they don't want to replace Boult, then Pattinson can be rested.

MI will rest their main players for tomorrow's matches and SRH stand a chance to qualify and the performance of their top order determines their fate.
I doubt they would do that. MI would probably continue with their winning combination instead of resting players since resting players could affect their form in a bad way. They will aim high as they usually have.

I hope that MI change their bowling lineup. Bumrah needs some rest ahead of the playoff matches, and the other pacers (Boult/Pattinson) have been leaking a lot of runs.
