Damn , you deceived me very bad and hard with your post here and the beginning with " watched the second episode " !

The first Video was the Teaser and the second one was the First Episode , fingers crossed we see soon the second one.

Which I believe for a new channel is pretty decent. Undoubtedly the channel would've received a helping hand from this forum, but I imagine most users here would've likely forgotten or not bothering to follow the thread, and therefore I imagine there's much more organic views on the second video than the first teaser. So, despite the video not really bothering to touch upon anything specific at this time, I expect once it starts specifically targeting certain topics, and therefore keywords those numbers will go up even further.

Ofcourse they are good for the newly launched channel which have only two videos at this time and not huge audience is engaged at the moment.Keeping in mind that most forum members aside from this thread might not be aware about the forum channel or as you said might have gone away as there was 2 months gap so the normal audience who might have come across this video must have peeped into it to have look.

Just watched the second episode and have to say on first viewing I'm very impressed
with the professionalism and presentation. I think its a great introduction to the
forum.

On reflection and I really dont mean to be harsh or too critical, It probably seems
a bit rushed although it touches on a lot of points about the forum and the length
of the vid was probably considered, anyway I really enjoyed it and will watch
it at least once more.

Well done to all involved.

I'm soo late but anyway, Merry Christmas and happy new year and congrats on your first video, it's amazing! Love it!

I think, most of the @xtraelv thread could be a source of material for your future episodes.
@Cyrus send me the transcript for subs, I'll try to make a translation, but I can't promise a deadline.
Yeah you are bit late for the Christmas party but not for the new year as only few days have passed but good to see you also liked the video because as many members support it the channel will grow even more and nice to see you want to contribute the same in subtitles for general audience to have it in local language and understand it in better way.

That is one hell of a run-on sentence, aysg76.  I'm not even sure what it means, though I'd like to understand what you said about people being misguided if/when the channel gains a foothold on Youtube.  That's a discussion I'd like to see happening in general.
Okay i know got judgemental and might have gone with the flow on to make one big sentence which is not clear so for clarification of all what i was trying to say that when the host introduced the post to earn thing in the video at 3:43 minutes and later on at 4:01 he said that thing

Quote
Paid to post is bound to generate spam, but either love it or hate it but it changed lot of people's lives

At this part people who are outside the forum context and say general audience who is watching the video might found it as opportunity to earn and then they also post spam things unintentionally as they don't have any idea what is quality posting so the next videos should make them clear about this whole scenario so as if some of the viewers come to this forum they have some knowledge how the signature campaign works and what is quality posting. This was what i meant in my post.

The reason is people are so misguided through those dumb crypto youtubers that they might think it as opportunity to earn without having adequate knowledge and dive into the conclusions but they first must learn about bitcoin and other stuff in brief or in detail which will help them a lot.

They should learn about the real stuff from this channel so as they have correct information about the rise of forum and all other bitcoin related stuff :

LEARN FROM HERE

NOT THIS

This is one source for all your bitcoin and forum related information and watch the upcoming episodes to have a better idea. The channel is in progress as view count has grown to 480 at this time and 75 subs which is good pace and soon 100 subs and 500 views are on the way.

Wait for episode number #2 is on now  Wink

Gacpoue, I might take your suggestion as being genuine had I not just seen this:

Not trying to go off-topic, but please stop it with the burst posting in order to boost your post count.

At this time the view count is low but when the channel will progress there would be many who might be misguided in opposite direction and start contributing to worse like many which will not benefit them and forum as well because the main aim of this channel is to make people aware about forum deeply and bitcoin as whole like how it started and how's it going and other.

There is now slight growth to the channel subs as now it stands at 73 rising by 5 new subs to the family and views have also grown to 448 which is good progress at first phase. Some members have also commented on the video which i know are associated to the forum :

1) Crwth
Maybe in your mind it faded away, but imagine someone seeing the video who knows nothing about the forum and doesn't care about it or the quality of his/her posts or that of anyone else's.  You know, just like the thousands of members we currently have who heard about bitcointalk through a friend/family member/whatever and decided to make this place a home where there's no distinction between the kitchen and the bathroom, if you know what I mean.
Yeah I understand your point and you are right on the point that an outsider who doesn't have any Knowledge about the forum would not be able to distinguish between quality post and spam post and they would find it as an opportunity to earn by writing up post but what i beleive is there is point in which host described that there will be separate video dedicated towards signature campaign and maybe through that they can spread awareness about that how you can do it like quality posting, ranking up and all that stuff to distinguish them so that they work up effectively in the kitchen making prefect recipes for them and others inspite of going through sewer pipes in bathroom if you what i mean(which you perfectly knows as you have seen both the sections on forum from long time).

Not that I think that'll happen right away....but it could happen if there's even a hint that there are pay-for-post opportunities available here.  Which there are.  And it was hinted at.  Only thing is that the video has under 400 views, most of which were probably from current members.  I'm just sayin', now.

We don't know yet. He said in the video that he is a Bitcoin ninja

Is it TryNinja?

Cyrus = Ninja
I don't think it is Cyrus. I am fairly confident the person in the video is someone who is not an admin, nor a global moderator but is a moderator/patroller. Although, if an admin or global mod has an alt that is also a patroller, it could be that person.

That's weird. Tried to keep the puzzle simple and see if there's interest to continue them.
I'm still reading up on this topic since I was a bit out of the loop due to holidays, but I love these kinds of puzzles; definitely continue them!
To be honest; I can't be bothered installing Java right now and all the online steno sites are having a hard time at this picture Grin

Tried to resuscitate my Google Cloud Account to setup a Linux VM..but stopped when asked too much details.
I never heard of Google accounts being needed to setup Linux VMs Cheesy Usually VirtualBox and a copy of Debian should suffice Roll Eyes

After watching the excellent presentation, I wanted to merit it, I realised it was YouTube, I liked and subscribed Grin
Their platform is inferior  Cheesy. They did get a lot of flak lately for hiding the number of dislikes.
This where I'd like to plug https://returnyoutubedislike.com/! (not affiliated, just a cool project)

No puzzle for the next one, I promise  Cheesy
That's such a pity! As an avid puzzle lover, this may be a trap though; and the next one will have a hidden puzzle or something? I hope so hahah, but really cool episode. I love how it mentioned so many topics that are planned for future episodes and can't wait for them to air.

Disclaimer : I was one of the lucky few that were able to see the video before being officially launched.

Like I had the opportunity to say to Cyrus, the amount of effort that he and his team have put into this video is great. I would say that it catches - and embodies - the spirit of our forum, albeit much more things will be sure be made in this field. In the same spirit of sharing feedback, here's my feedback on the video when I was given the opportunity to see it (split into "Pros" (Positive) and Deltas (Things to improve)):

Pros:
  • I dig the early animation (around 00:08) mark. The graphics are really well made and, for a first video, it nails the whole vibe of the video. Sure it could be improved, but as a first result, it looks good.
  • I really like the fact that the whole 6 minutes of the video is simply towards one goal - To talk about Bitcointalk and highlight some of its boards + some other facts that we are known for (like signature campaigns). It's good to reckon that even we (as a community) reckon that some of them generate spam but, then again like you said, " A bitcointalk signature became a signature of Bitcointalk".
  • The host himself seems that it may be his first / few times recording something like this - in general, not specifically crypto - and he's pretty good at it! What I can say to improve is perhaps trying to act even more natural and try to avoid that he is reading something of a script in front of him (in some shots looks more than others)
  • I also like the idea of sliding "future" topics that will be approached in the channel but without giving to much information about them. It's a good way to catch the attention of the viewers and make them see future videos if they want to have their ... curiosity satisfied. Good one!
  • Good shout for WO thread! I'm sure this could be a good segment where we could highlight good threads of our community

Deltas:
  • I think that the initial transition that happens here[1] is too abrupt - the host doesn't even have an opportunity to end his phrase and the introduction is already happening. What I think that it could result better - as not to just jump from one segment to another so quickly - is to perhaps to add some kind of effect to the introduction effect where it starts with some sort of fog and then proceeds to clear into the animation itself ... Reading just seems odd, but I was just trying to "ease" that transition from recording to animation without feeling so much ... abrupt.
  • This may just be something that I noticed, but I tend to think that some sections of the subtitles just fill the whole screen - these[2][3] for example - and it ends up distracting the user who ends up choosing to have them. Subtitles can ruin or improve the experience one has and I think the current ones could be better sectioned and balanced to both decrease the amount of characters per line / section - thus reducing the number of characters / s - and also trying to give enough time for the reader to read them. For example in these sections[4][5] the subtitles disappear before the host finishes the sentence or they go out too quickly compared with the speech. I think its overall a good effort, but I can clearly see that the subtitles were made considering some script and pasted on the right timings. I think with a little bit of work they would get awesome Smiley Here's a few tips that I followed when I did those jobs (more hardcore times I guess):
So what I'm wondering now is what the plans are to monetize and expand the channel.  That has to be the eventual goal, because I don't think Ninja-dude and whoever else is involved would keep making high-quality content for a very small, specialized audience (as evidenced so far by the subscriber count, which is 64 as I write this).  And it isn't likely that strictly forum-related topics would attract a broader viewership base.  Am I way off base there or what?

Honestly, I hope the channel does attract more viewers and subscribers and that it draws in more people to the forum.  Hey, with more eyeballs here seeing signatures perhaps campaign rates will go up accordingly.  Lol.
I actually talked about the sustantability long term of the channel in one of my initial[12] posts:

    Sustainability long term

I know that this hasn't been brought up, and perhaps the creators of it aren't really looking for funding, but I believe that at least some options could be considered. To that end, I have come up with two ideas - all related with BTC:

    • Accept donations from users to a certain address - This one doesn't reinvente the wheel. I was thinking of each user having it's own address to contribute to - similar to the Cooper Membership one (we could even create some sort of badge system based on the amount of donation made per user). OR, if creating a "badge system" revealed to be too much complicated due to coding / lack of staff to implement it, I would just rather create an address to accept BTC donations from.
    • Accept sponsorships from services that already run their own campaigns here (like ChipMixer for example) - This one can be... not consensual. I agree that since we're going to create a channel directly related to our forum, these kind of requests/approaches will eventually appear. I'm just unsure if we really need to start "mixing" a bit of services that only use our forum to advertise or simply start saying "OK I, as bitcointalk, will start making small references to you in our channel because you pay us too". I don't think it's a bad idea necessarily but I also don't really know if it's a right decision regarding the moral aspect of it.
    • MERCH! - Well...Why not right? Granted, there are thousands of merch already regarding BTC and all of that, but I think we could also host another contest to design our own graphics / memes / whatever they be. This one does involve more issues such as managing orders, finding a partner to produce the items, solve any issues upon the item being received so I would consider this one as a last resort.
I agree that these are not groundbreaking ideas, but it's a start. Considering that we're talking of a team that's already between 5 and 10[13] people, whatever is the amount of time that they are dedicating to the channel they've got to be paid somehow and while I know that theymos has stated that he might consider some funding, as a community project I wouldn't mind donating some BTC whenever I could for the project.

As far as either audio bitcoin podcasts or video content (podcasts or otherwise), I surely classify myself as a consumer, and I have quite a bit of non-interest in terms of getting involved in participating in putting out content in either of those modes (even though I have had some people who are quite persistent in suggesting that I should get involved in something like that, including in real life.. ).. Anyhow, I applaud people who are able to put out decent content whether video or audio or both, and for sure I have learned a lot about bitcoin from those various mediums...and also helped me in my own understanding and content sharing attempts through participating in this forum.
My personal preference would actually probably be audio format. I tend to listen to more podcasts than watching video content. Though, I've noticed even podcast production has gone up, and usually includes some sort of visual element now be it either a video of the actual people talking or an animation.
While not ideal, I listened to this video while doing other things and the result wasn't bad (as in absorbing information/paying attention to what was being said to me). For sure that some videos won't be like that and will have more graphical information / content that actually needs to be seen, but I guess that if we want to really show our vast knowledge in some areas, there's no way of circumvent that kind of visual information... I do believe that if we get interviews with members of the community or even renowned personalities (actual ones!) within this field in our channel, I'm sure that you'll be able to grab the audio version of the video and play it on your favorite app (check AntennaPod[13] - it's open source. While being basic I feel way more conformable knowing that anyone can audit the code).

On another note, I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but Cryus added English and Portuguese subs to the teaser[14]! Thank you for that!

The video clearly showing people that they can be paid through the signature advertisement under their signature space where they post but the fact i like this part was because it clearly states that it generates spam as well because when your mind shifted towards only earning then making quality discussion seems to fade away as he talked about the same.

I mean sig camp? I guess ChipMixer has a decent payment while others pay a very little amount. Ah, I guess I got it. If people have hold their BTC earned from campaign, they must have made a huge amount. Make sense.
If all you have to do is drop a dozen or so shitposts to collect a small amount of bitcoin, an asset that has the potential to rise astronomically, wouldn't you jump at the chance?  That was rhetorical; pages fill up with applicants as soon as a new campaign thread is started, and it's been that way for years no matter what the pay rate is.

I'd like to see a show about what people BUY with their Btc Winnings.
Eh....that's the kind of veering off topic that I hope the channel doesn't do, because it's more a discussion of bitcoin itself rather than the channel.  It's a slip-and-slide straight to becoming just another bitcoin-hyping Youtube channel with thumbnails of bearded guys showing shocked/sad/confused/disgusted expressions on their faces with some kind of 1000 point font "10 ways you can grow your bitcoin" wording in the background.

Just for the record (and in case I didn't explicitly mention it) I did subscribe to the channel, and I think I was #7.  That post I made about 15 subscribers might have been after I'd subscribed, but I can't remember, nor is it that important.
Exactly that is not important that which subscriber you were because in the end we all continue at some positions but the main point of concern is to show support to the channel and i firmly believed you were early subscriber of the channel even though you don't subscribe to most of them easily.I was also among the ones who subscribed it fast but don't remember at which position i was.

And dang, did I really make 20 posts in this thread?  Jeez.  Didn't think it was that many, but now it's 21 and I'm very much looking forward to the next video--and I'm hoping this project hasn't been abandoned.
On the other side i was surprised to see myself with most posts on this thread among other members who were actively taking part in the discussion about the channel.Seeing the community support and his last post and pools the channel is not abandoned in my opinion so hope for the best.

I don't doubt that it takes a lot of work to produce a very high quality video, but personally I'd be satisfied with fewer bells and whistles, less editing effects, and just plain more content (i.e., more videos).  I'd be OK with them not being so "produced" like many professional Youtubers' videos are.

Yes it take lot of efforts and equipments to make high quality video and you need to do lot of editing with different softwares and filter the content throughout the video and it take team combined efforts to publish the video and maybe Cyrus is not having big team to support him but yes the true enthusiast are also ready to watch it in the low quality also so not much of worries about that. But i don't think people are doing much of efforts these days to make video about bitcoin and there is huge difference in video these days as most of them are crap related stuff and here is how the time has changed these days:

So hoping the channel video fade out such things and bring more true picture about forum and some bitcoin related events to educate the people correctly.

I don't know what "big guys" you're talking about, but I was hoping there would be some kind of spotlight on the more prominent members at some point, because as far as I know it is supposed to be a channel about the forum and not about bitcoin-related stuff necessarily.
Yeah there could be some video sponsored to the specific members that have contributed best to the forum as i have suggested to interview them once but most of them wants to remain anonymous and doesn't want to disclose their identity but yes some prominent members discussion on forum journey would be good to watch among viewers also.

Finally saw this today and posted same day I read it.

May be okay.

who is the host bear?
Don't know who he is because we only have few seconds of glimpse of him like all the viewers in which he changed three t-shirt's  Grin and introduce the forum and then go away. Will disclose who the white robot is with time  Grin

When everybody stop stalking @Cyrus about this video, then the magic will happen.
Waiting for the magic to happen and like exciting audience just coming here every week to see if the magic wond has just flung to unveil the channel video out of closet.
I'd like to see a show about what people BUY with their Btc Winnings.

1) The channel is progressing with the first video uploaded 2 days ago as the subscriber count has grown to 64 where it was stuck to 39 after the teaser launch.

2) It has 353 views including mine in just 2 days whereas the teaser still have 450 after 2 months also which means 78% have come in two days only which is perfect growth.

Was busy at some other works and didn't get time to watch the video but was in mind that video is out and was continuously thinking about the same and couldn't resist myself from having a look at it now and believe me it was great surprise for me and thanks @Cyrus for releasing it before the year end and it was amazing to have the first episode with us on YouTube.Just noticed few things:

1) The channel is progressing with the first video uploaded 2 days ago as the subscriber count has grown to 64 where it was stuck to 39 after the teaser launch.

2) It has 353 views including mine in just 2 days whereas the teaser still have 450 after 2 months also which means 78% have come in two days only which is perfect growth.

3) The table has still the old logo in blue color same to as in @OP lying there which i noticed maybe not worth of sharing but still feel so.

Overall it was really good to see you and team making efforts and appreciate you for the same but also wait for the second video has grown suddenly. So best wishes to you and keep us entertained and indulge with videos coming out.

I had to chuckle that signature campaigns were mentioned, and for a minute there I nearly slapped my head, anticipating that it might draw in a ton of people intrigued by the idea of getting paid to post--despite the fact that it was noted that campaigns are thought to be responsible for the spam problem.  However, I suppose it remains to be seen how many people actually see the video.  At the time I watched it (about 3 minutes ago) it had 120 views.

The video clearly showing people that they can be paid through the signature advertisement under their signature space where they post but the fact i like this part was because it clearly states that it generates spam as well because when your mind shifted towards only earning then making quality discussion seems to fade away as he talked about the same. But yes they will have some specific content dedicated to it to make further clarifications about it.You catch that fast as the video scrolled out soon when it was showing the thread about discussion and became famous now to youtube community as well. The best part was no advertisement and simple request to like subscribe and comment if you wish to do so unlike the chessy youtubers running ads for their channel to hit that subscribe button as fast they can.

Cyrus is so uptight sometimes, imagine if he hosted the show  Grin

Here's the link guys and girls, made sure the video is now public as well: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WK4VqHEf8CE

Spread the word if you liked it and most importantly, enjoy your holidays and Merry Christmas!
What a present at the year end and for me this is perfect Christmas gift from you man and now the video rolling out discussion seems to come to an end and the wait is finally over for all of us.The 6:11 seconds video which aired the first episode of official channel of bitcointalk is now live for the community as well general public.Just finished watching it and come here to reply.

Found it

The same is already displayed in big letters down on the glass and maybe at the time of editing they added this blur effect to make us find more puzzles and strings attached to the video but the members here have very keen observation because they have been waiting for so long now and will take time to watch it perfectly

Great, unexpected, yet greatly waited Christmas  gift.

I aldready like “Bitcoin Ninja” #nohomo and the overall tone of the video.
Also I have been credited, and I clearly saw my avatar in the video.

I appreciate seeing the link to the debut episode, and surely I am having some difficulties imagining how such a series could be sustainable in video format - because of course there is some good content, yet presenting it in form of video will be interesting to see if sustainable.... and yeah, I am not going to poo poo the effort because I had already noticed that there have been some proposals about how to accomplish such.
Yeah, I kind of would agree that lower production usually isn't expected in the beginning of the channel, at least several years ago. However, to be able to compete nowadays on Youtube specifically you need at least acceptable level, but the higher the quality the better the response. The bar for content on Youtube has been set very high, which is a little mind boggling considering all the low quality stuff on it especially anything with any kind of substance, but high quality production seems to be of a higher priority than the actual substance behind the content.

I'm used to seeing channels go from low quality production, but very good quality then as the money starts to roll in it'll go to higher production, but then sacrificing quality of content since they cater to their audience rather than their original goal.

Although, I have to give props to the effort shown in the early videos, and I'm hoping it absolutely continues, and sees success along with it. Though, I think its natural to worry about whether the high bar initially set is going to hinder the amount of videos being released, and therefore viewer retention. Though, hopefully as time goes on the team behind the Bitcointalkshow will be able to adjust, and find a nice middle ground.

Even though I feel that I have no real quibble with your suggestion that some level of production quality would be preferred in order to create enough interest in order to keep any kind of ongoing production going, and likely I was making some kind of different point about the value of persistence - and suggesting that even choosing to have video (at all) contributes to multiples more work... so in that regard, in my thinking if the amount of work is a lot, then it becomes harder to just pump out content on an ongoing basis to achieve a kind of persistence that also likely would allow for abilities to riff there-in, too.

For sure there should be some learning along the way regarding whether some content presents well in video and how to make the content interesting, and surely there could be some thought about how much work it might take to make certain kinds of content that had originally been a bunch of nerds typing on a forum become interesting in a video format.. which surely makes it more difficult to riff when those kinds of challenges are presented right on the face of the matter.....
