Now then.....this is interesting  Smiley

Can you tell me what programming language your new p2pool code is made with?

Thanks  Smiley

BITMAIN announces Antpool: Pushing forward Decentralization

We are pleased to announce Antpool (antpool.com) which is open for users all around the world. BITMAIN has invested significant resources into developing more efficient bitcoin pool, especially p2pool mining pool. Antpool supports both solo and p2p mining protocol. BITMAIN reaffirms its commitment to help decentralize the Bitcoin network, strengthen the Bitcoin eco-system and put the majority of hashing power into the hands of consumers.

As to solo mining, Antpool collects all hashing power of miners to its servers and mines as a huge solo miner. Solo server can be found at: stratum.antpool.com:3333, or solo.antpool.com:3333, solo.antpool.com:25. Solo mode of Antpool has been proven to be stable and secure through its long testing period.  From August 22th to November 10th, 295 blocks were found and 7398 Bitcoins were mined. Further stats can be found here link https://www.antpool.com/poolStats.htm.

Features

Pool nodes are deployed around the world to improve performance and provide redundancy. Miners are automatically routed their closest location, including:
  • United States
  • Germany
  • Hong Kong
  • Beijing
  • Shenzhen
  • Qingdao
  • Hangzhou and more.

Features
  • 0% fees and PPLNS earnings. (The tx fee is not paid out to miners for maintaining cost and the bonus for our engineers.)
  • Graphical displays for hashing speeds, income and pool statistics.
  • Email warnings for underperforming miners.
  • API and third party application support.
  • Support for miner groups, group statistics and management.

We support p2pool protocol

The p2pool protocol prevents hashing power being controlled by one central entity (the pool owner), and has been significantly developed during the development of Antpool. All p2pool code will be open sourced and uploaded on BITMAIN’s Github link in the near future https://github.com/bitmaintech/p2pool. (We hope open source it in one week but don't blame us if it delays a little bit.)  we hope that we can optimize the p2p protocol and network with other interested engineers around the world.

We believe p2pool protocol has great potential, however, it is not developed very well till now.

Firstly, p2pool protocol's total hash rate is low compared with the whole network's, which is around only 2% of it as of Nov 2014. So p2pool's output is still not quite stable. There is a network effect barrier we need to break, then the p2pool protocol will have stable output and more miners will join the protocol. One of the most import reason for this is that there is not a well developed p2pool agent mining pool. If there is a well developed agent as the p2p.antpool.com, the total hashrate of p2pool will be significantly increased.

Secondly, the protocol of p2pool network is already optimized a lot, but for average miners, it is not as efficient as it could be, especially for some low bandwidth miners, whom will not be affected if they are connected to a normal solo mining pool. We hope our efforts will help the community feel easier to set up p2pool mining nodes running with high efficiency.

If p2pool protocol can provide a more stable output, and the code is published, we hope that there will be more and more independent p2pool mining nodes around the world. There are lots of enterprise level miners around the world. I think it will be in the best interest for themselves to run their own p2pool mining nodes, if we can develop it into a convenient, reliable and efficient tools.

Forum & Ticket System

Users are able to access to Antpool with their BITMAIN account. The log in and ticket system is unified across all BITMAIN services, which allows communication and support to be more efficient. Miners now can buy mining rigs from bitmaintech.com and chose hosting service at Umisoo and mine at antpool.com.

Your feedback is important for us to develop and improve our products.
