Open source? Grin and BITMAIN - this is a bad joke. Right?
Any way we all know that most of you will go where you think the most profitable place is. But it will turn out that it might be your biggest mistake folks Wink
At the end the community is driven by pure greed with 0% understanding what is going on in technical terms. I am sorry to say that folks, but  with such behavior it will maximize BITMAIN profits. And your loss also Lips sealed

Is this connected to the regular p2pool network or your own p2pool like network?

Edit: Will let you know is what I meant.

There are a lot of questions, and very few answers....

Does this run on the existing p2pool sharechain?
Will anyone be able to run a node?
Did you address payouts for smaller miners as the hasrate increases?

What changes to p2pool are you making?

A little clarification would be nice.

If this is a totally separate p2pool like network but miners connect to Bitmain's servers only to mine on it, then they get the worst of all worlds: They get the increased work loss of frequent restarts, they get the high diff shares that will prevent them getting paid consistently unless they have very large hashrates, and there is no actual decentralisation since they'll be mining at a centralised pool created by bitmain that just happens to use the p2pool code for its backend but isn't really p2peer.

If all of the above is true, then bitmain has tried to cash in on the decentralisation concept by paying homage to the idea using p2pool without actually understanding it.

Fail.

I agree… and I also see this as a slap in the face after you were the first to come out and offer a REAL solo pool … This REALLY puts me in a twist… I see you do so many good things for the community, and then there are the others who just try to cash in on the hard work and investment of miners… I can't even begin to express how angry this makes me feel… Please keep up the great work on your end and I feel that other people in the community will see what you have done and continue to go your way .

Who cares dude...
Do you know how ti find out if you are mining solo or not in a pool in every work provided by the pool?
Do you know ho to find out if each and every work provided by the pool is legitimate?
Do you know how to find out if pool op is mining merged without giving you a portion of it
if not please do not expect a clear answer even from a legitimate and  official  BITMAIN Customer Service Representative Grin Grin Grin

Fail.

I read it as they are offering both p2p for miners to run their own nodes, and "pools" that Bitmain manages.  They say miners can now connect to their pools, and soon will be able to run p2p, and the code will be published within a week.  If you check the hashrate distribution, antpool already has 5%, compared to p2pool's 2%, so if people switch over, that will get us to 7% to start.  Just my assumptions and 2 cents.

Antpool supports solo mining and p2p mining, and p2p mining will be online this week as we stated in this announcement

I'm willing to give Bitmain the benefit of doubt ATM, but I too would like to see some clarity on the situation, as others have asked previously.

And please Bitmain, can we keep this thread free of dogie poop?

Ta  Smiley
Yes you can
Ignore button and moderation right?

It is clear that Bitmain  wants a share from his sold miners speaking bulshit that is how i see things. And i do not need a crystal ball for this. Use your heads folks that is all

Now then.....this is interesting  Smiley

Can you tell me what programming language your new p2pool code is made with?

Thanks  Smiley

Edit: Looking at the git repo - it's python again.......... Angry

The repo still has the old stuff.  The new code is not there yet.

I hope you're right, I grow weary of this slooooow python stuff...... Wink

Sounds like a totally separate p2p network and not connected to p2pool.
