Sorry if I am missing something easy.

1) is "solo.antpool.com:3333" a normal server? Ie it is not me solo mining

2) How do I set difficulty manually?

try this servers:

stratum.antpool.com:3333
stratum.antpool.com:25

hurry up because this pool is paying as crazy man
Really Huh
I am wandering what are they paying  to SOLO miners who are not finding blocks Huh Huh Huh
0 BTC as crazy of course that should be the answer.

If they pay something it means that they ARE NOT SOLO!

You can try other REAL solo servers and some of them allow you to set your difficulty manually...
and help with "Decentralization" idea.... Wink
In case you really care about that lie proudly announced and title topic and removed afterwards.

Is AntPool available for SP20?
Does somebody have such experience?

Shouldn't be a problem. KnC Mercury, Jupiter, Neptune certainly works.

i just pointed my 3 SP20 to antpool without any problem.. the only thing is that you have to wait a few minutes for them to be shown on your worker's dashboard
This is true, the dashboard updates every five minutes or so--which is different than what you are used to coming from GHASH.

The delay can also be significantly longer when first hooking up a miner, rest assured if its mining then it is working.

Don't know why but there is a significant delay on the webpage when it comes to monitoring workers. When I am doing maintenance or hooking up new miners I usually have to do some cleaning and eat my lunch before I leave because it takes so long before I can see if they are running correctly. This was not a problem with Ghash.io or BTCGuild, the problem with those was making money. So I guess I should just keep cleaning and shut up.

LOL.. exactly.. and because the pool is paying as PPLNS you have to leave your miners hooked up for a few days before you can get a good reward from it.

Noticed a bit of an issue with my antminer s5's on antpool. I am getting rejected > 2.5% over 12 hours on antpool compared to 0 % on another pool such as Slush's. Is this something to be concerned about? They fall under the category of other on the antpool worker page. Difficulty is auto set but seems to be 4096. Temps are in the low 50's and HWE is less than 0.001%.

EDIT: Switched port to 25 from 3333 and seems to have resolved the issue.

Agreed, admins or mods, should at least change the title of the thread and remove "Pushing forward Decentralization" since it's misleading.

EDIT: reported this post so mods will see it.

BITMAIN,

Please change the title of this thread to, "BITMAIN Announces Antpool: the Second Largest Centralized Pool"

Also, update all posts in the thread to remove any and all references to supporting p2pool and decentralization, especially the one IYFTech has quoted.

Thanks.

WANTED: Active dev to fix & re-write p2pool in C
March 01, 2015, 08:34:56 AM

We support p2pool protocol

The p2pool protocol prevents hashing power being controlled by one central entity (the pool owner), and has been significantly developed during the development of Antpool. All p2pool code will be open sourced and uploaded on BITMAIN’s Github link in the near future https://github.com/bitmaintech/p2pool. (We hope open source it in one week but don't blame us if it delays a little bit.)  we hope that we can optimize the p2p protocol and network with other interested engineers around the world.

We believe p2pool protocol has great potential, however, it is not developed very well till now.

Firstly, p2pool protocol's total hash rate is low compared with the whole network's, which is around only 2% of it as of Nov 2014. So p2pool's output is still not quite stable. There is a network effect barrier we need to break, then the p2pool protocol will have stable output and more miners will join the protocol. One of the most import reason for this is that there is not a well developed p2pool agent mining pool. If there is a well developed agent as the p2p.antpool.com, the total hashrate of p2pool will be significantly increased.

Secondly, the protocol of p2pool network is already optimized a lot, but for average miners, it is not as efficient as it could be, especially for some low bandwidth miners, whom will not be affected if they are connected to a normal solo mining pool. We hope our efforts will help the community feel easier to set up p2pool mining nodes running with high efficiency.

If p2pool protocol can provide a more stable output, and the code is published, we hope that there will be more and more independent p2pool mining nodes around the world. There are lots of enterprise level miners around the world. I think it will be in the best interest for themselves to run their own p2pool mining nodes, if we can develop it into a convenient, reliable and efficient tools.

Pool is working ? I have problem with my S5 ? If I try p2p URL, it's says the pool is DEAD. I tried port 3333 and 25.

Anybody have similar problems ?

If I try solo server, then is working.

I think they abandoned p2p
