Antpool are spread around the world in different continents already before the DDOS started.

Engineers are working on the issues continuously.  This is a sad thing for us to say, but please set a backup pool outside Antpool while we are under attack.

Any chance of an update bitmain? Couple of weeks of bad profit here. Couldn't take much for a five minute update!

Thanks for advice.   It is sad to see a great pool being ruined by some DDOS attackers.

I hope you guys can find a way to defeat these attacks.

Just a idea have you thought about making more pool servers?  If you make lets say 10 pools they would have to amp up DDOS attack to get all of them.  You could even open in different regions such as US, UK, ETC.

Would have been cheaper to pay them off.  Huh

Give them the 10 BTC bounty so we can all go back to making money.  Undecided

Are you really that ignorant to think that's how it works?  They're spending money to ddos attack, if you start paying them why would they stop?  Remind me to never hire you to be my hostage negotiator.
I am wandering what makes you think that they are spending money?
I do agree that paying ransom is not the solution but ....spending money....it sounds like you have internal info or what?

Having infected zombies participate in a DDoS is how they are most commonly detected and eventually fixed.  Reporting huge amounts of IPs to ISPs, while most are ignored, will cause some infected users to get contacted regarding the fact that their computer is participating in illegal activities.

They're much more valuable when undetected and stealing user information (passwords, credit card numbers, etc.).  So while executing a DDoS with your own swarm of infected machines might not actively cost money (though many DDoSes are actually somebody paying for another perosn's botnet to attack), it will lose them machines that could be generating money in ways which don't get detected as quickly.

Computers cost money, electricity costs money, internet access costs money, people's time costs money.  All of those things are required for ddos attacks, how did you think it was done?

Yeez, have antpool just given up? I find it hard to believe that there is no solution to this problem.

BTW 0.0Hs for several hours now.

Same here my miners all switched pools.  I can see 2 big losses of miners in 24 hours.

Is there any updates as far when it should be fixed?

When I spoke to them last on the phone earlier today they said they are having issues with CLOUDFARE working with the miners. I see its not fixed yet come on already BITMAIN.

In cgminer, there is a specific path and process of work from the pool to cgminer, to the device, back to cgminer and back to the pool again.
Bitmain messes with that process.
My first release I did of their S1 driver, I spent time fixing that process.
They ignored the changes.

So the simplest answer is to point out that what the Bitmain antminers show with their versions may not always be correct .......... on all their miners.

Thanks for the answer! Bitmain really ignored it? They have really been letting me down lately with all their sites being down due to DDoS, and now this, but that's life! My main reason for asking about it in the first place is because I was debating on trying solo mining, now I know it was a BUG (like an ANT  Wink ) and solo mining would pretty much be pointless for me.

~Mike

Bitmain messes up a lot of things. Every version of S3 firmware introduces some new problem. They are very sloppy in writing firmware and seem to not test it very well either.

I will have to agree, there is no consistency. It took me some time to find a stable firmware. Updating firmwares are always risky with any device, the less you do it, the better. I had to do this more than I would have liked.

Perhaps their own firmware is ironically what is preventing their customer's Antminers from connecting to Antpool through Cloudflare... Probably not though, since their miners for Hashnest are connected just fine

For once I am in 100% agreement with the Antpool folks, they made the right decision in not paying the extortionists.

Meh their block 348010 had no transactions in it.
I checked my pool txn list before and after the block:
Code:
2015-03-17 14:57:05 CreateNewBlock(): total size 108217
2015-03-17 14:57:07 UpdateTip: new best=00000000000000000c325959587a0770c9572e0becd019826c05068ef0646c7a  height=348010  log2_work=82.445993  tx=62647122  date=2015-03-17 14:56:42 progress=1.000000
2015-03-17 14:57:08 ProcessBlock: ACCEPTED
2015-03-17 14:57:08 CreateNewBlock(): total size 110392
i.e. there was more than 100,000 bytes of transactions available according to my default bitcoind settings

WANTED: Active dev to fix & re-write p2pool in C
March 17, 2015, 09:19:57 AM
wtf is going on with all pools.
Antpool is under DDOS maybe more than a week, Eligius is down too, last week ghash was the victim where the f*ck we can mine normal.

P2Pool up and running, DDOS resistant by design.

Don't say that - they'll all flock to p2pool & kill it with hash........ Cheesy Cheesy

It seems like bitmains miners stay alive but everyone else losses connection and when they get back on due to pplns they go back to doing the same work for a lesser share for a few blocks!?!?! Could this be beneficial for bitmain?

Choose smaller pool that is the answer.
