You were right, just takes much longer than I expected to boot up fully.
Though on the new autoset firmware, even 20 minutes still didn't connect.
Rolled back for now.

Still at 5.6th?

Up to around 7-8TH
Looks like I lost one of the three boards?
Sounds about right. You get separate stats for each board. Can you get a pic?

Just 2 lines, so yeap one is down, tried switching everything up, dead board?

The little red light just behind the hash cable is probably off on that board,= board dead.

paid, unshipped, expired is just cute.
I would do nothing, they will manually confirm in am, especially if they already moved you btc out of payment address.

Cool, thanks!
So nothing to worry about? Don't need to email them?

I didn't, but it is up to you.
Incidentally, their website said on the payment page that they will manually confirm all payments that were made/initiated within an hour.

EDIT: 13.5 just disappeared from the shop altogether. Strange batch with no numbers whatsoever.
i hope that they will put something out, otherwise electrical characteristics are unknown.
Maybe it was a premature release?

I read somewhere that these S9s on sale were originally allocated for their Hashnet cloud mining farm - probably surplus units.

I placed an order for an S9, but first time this has happened:
Paid
Unshipped
Expired
I paid, but it expired?
Try contacting support, they have lots of issues.
I wanted to order 7 of them but wire transfer isn't available
What is their support email?
Couldn't find it on their site.
I'm assuming [email protected] ?

This happens all the time with them. Their system needs 6 confirms within the first hour I think. If that does not happen then it goes to "expired" and they have to push it through manually.

Just wait a day or two and they will correct it without you asking. If you still see it has not changed status in more than 2 days then just let them know. The key is not to panic. If you sent the payment to the correct address then you will be fine. All the proof is in the blockchain. The blockchain is your friend.  Wink

All my s9's have 6000rpm fans front and back.
Big beefy motors.
I had an s9  fan replaced from denver, was only a 5000rpm s7 fan, smaller motor.
Gets the job done on an s9.
You can get s7 fans on amazon $18 free ship 2 days. They are good enough to cool an s9.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01E8YS122/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The s9 and s7 generate the same heat, use same wattage.

7-15 firmware hashes faster and runs cooler than 11-29 firmware on my 11.85th s9 with replaced boards.
Plus the fan speed doesn't jack all around.

thanks, but it could not get any more confusing than this; why then they had 6000rpm fan when 4300 is OK? A rhetorical question, of course.
all i know is what they wrote (6K front, 4.3K back), but one of my S9 has it in reverse (4.2-4.3K pos1, 5.9K pos2).
the question is: why? either they reverse fans or they reverse connectors (maybe more likely).
I am thinking that they made a mistake and if i reverse it to proper, maybe i can boost this miner from 11.85 to 12.93 by freq adjustment.

The front was a Delta QFR1212GHE 12v 2.70A and the rear only had the markings "JSL" but no model number or even direction of flow.

A piece of additional info. Even though ive swapped them out for different ones the rear fan is still 120rpm faster than the front. Front 1800rpm - Rear 1920rpm set at 25% speed

What did you replace with? did I miss that?
Did you get rid of the wine with new fans?

thanks for info, aliexpress has those for less than $20 with slow shipping.
i managed to find the rear one:
http://support.bitmain.com/hc/en-us/articles/226303188-Fan-data-S9
DW12038H12TB with 4300 rpm, which matches the specs.

however, what i wonder is how that S9 I was talking about can have 4300 in front (pos1) and 5900 in back (pos2).
back fan cannot possibly produce this kind of speeds (4300 limit), which made me think that Bitmain had misplaced the fans.
i found, then lost bitmainwarranty's post with a picture of connectors for pos 1 and 2 (pos1 wire is straight and pos3 curly/twisted as far as i remember from his picture), which matches your pics as well. Mind you, it is pos1 and pos3 in S7, but pos1,2 on non-autotune S9, ut post 3 and 6 on autotune 11th one.

S9-s are on sale right now but they only accept bitcoin payments that's too bad.
Does anyone know why only BTC, atm I'm only able to wire transfer

No UPS option this time either, which never gave me problems.
Fedex would give me problems.
Plus asking for SSN and such on the order page, never asked me about that before.

Ok. But how bitmain can verify if given SSN is good?
This is an useful request

this is FEDEX req, not bitmain's, on orders $2500 and above. basically, if you order 2 or more.
Only order one at a time or customs will ding you.

S9 now on sale on Bitmain store front...

...this time no notification on twitter!!!
strange behaviour.
why they do not spread the news this time?

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

They probably have a limited quantity.  Notice that they also have a single miner for sale...

I am with you on the mmmmmm.

interestingly, there are no specs so far.
i think that these are 14th (b23) that did not quite make it to 14Th.

I have a question: i have one S9 that has much higher speed fan on the back than in front.
Bitmain says that fan in front is up to 6000rpm, and back one up to 4000rpm, but i have it backwards and that miner is actually running a bit hotter.
Does anybody think that it is worth reversing the fans? Miner is in hosting, so i cannot visually inspect the fans.
Can someone confirm that front and back fans are actually different (model, appearance, etc)?
Or is it possible that bitmain simply connected fans to the wrong connectors, unlikely as it is.
thanks.

My second hand 11.85th S9 had these fans on before I swapped them both out. Back one would run faster (and whine) than the front. In the picture the left fan is front and right fan was rear:-

Hope this helps some

great, this helps so much, big thanks!
It seems that you also had higher speed on the back fan, which should not be happening according to specs.
I will try to ascertain if they simply misplaced the fans (put them backwards: back in front, etc).
When you swapped them, where did you get replacements: from Bitmain or elsewhere?
