S9 now on sale on Bitmain store front...

...this time no notification on twitter!!!
strange behaviour.
why they do not spread the news this time?

mmmmmmmmmmmmmm....

They probably have a limited quantity.  Notice that they also have a single miner for sale...

I am with you on the mmmmmm.

interestingly, there are no specs so far.
i think that these are 14th (b23) that did not quite make it to 14Th.

I have a question: i have one S9 that has much higher speed fan on the back than in front.
Bitmain says that fan in front is up to 6000rpm, and back one up to 4000rpm, but i have it backwards and that miner is actually running a bit hotter.
Does anybody think that it is worth reversing the fans? Miner is in hosting, so i cannot visually inspect the fans.
Can someone confirm that front and back fans are actually different (model, appearance, etc)?
Or is it possible that bitmain simply connected fans to the wrong connectors, unlikely as it is.
thanks.

What a deal at 1445+shipping for 13.5 TH, even with free power thats over 5.5 months but with Diff looking like its on the up swing, more like 7-8 months for ROI with FREE POWER. Good luck with that, I have 20 S7's that I have started selling off and down to 8 left. Time to cash in and just buy BTC and hold. Maybe I'll keep one for heat this winter, actually doing better with GPU's and HW is always worth something when done with it.

No UPS option this time either, which never gave me problems.
Fedex would give me problems.
Plus asking for SSN and such on the order page, never asked me about that before.

Ok. But how bitmain can verify if given SSN is good?
This is an useful request

this is FEDEX req, not bitmain's, on orders $2500 and above. basically, if you order 2 or more.

You were right, just takes much longer than I expected to boot up fully.
Though on the new autoset firmware, even 20 minutes still didn't connect.
Rolled back for now.

Still at 5.6th?

Up to around 7-8TH
Looks like I lost one of the three boards?

I think that they stopped showing batches even before.
One thing of note: UPS is absent from delivery options and there is a big red sign showing during ordering saying that they should have your EN/SSN number on file if cost is above $2500.

EDIT: blockchain wallet asked me to reduce the fee and I listened, foolishly. It promised confirmation in 1 block and now 2-4 blocks and no confirm. Now i would have to wait for bitmain's rigamarole. Oh, well.

Evil beware: We have waffles!
S9 now on sale on Bitmain store front...
And no mention of Batch number. How very weird. Even the s2's had batch numbers, wonder why the change?

I have a batch 23 S9.
What should I expect the board temperatures to read? The miner status page reads 87, 84 and 101. One board is consistently hotter. Any concerns?
The board temps seem to change if I power down and restart, where other boards become consistently hotter / colder and generally stay that way until the next time I power cycle. Seems like odd behavior to me, but I assume it has something to do with the firmware.

Also is there an ideal temperature for hashrate or for long life?
Thx
Temps look perfectly normal.
With the auto-tune firmware Bitmain has used since batch-16 there is nothing we as users can do anymore to change hashrate or temps.

Apparently, Bitmain stocked 12.5Th miners for Hashnest at $1699 a pop.
I don't remember such setting in the batches that they sold, or was it there?
I remember seeing 14, 12.93, 11.85, 11.
Maybe 12.5 is something new, but it would be grossly overpriced at $1699 considering that they were selling 11th for $1232 a couple of weeks ago.

Same error as here https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.17033838

I had a S9 mining at around 5.6TH, so decided I'd try the newest firmware.
Now I get this:
Hardware Version   Socket connect failed: Connection refused
Kernel Version   Linux 3.10.31-ltsi-00003-gcf03eb9 #81 SMP Mon Apr 25 11:20:36 CST 2016
File System Version   Tue Nov 29 06:13:15 EST 2016
BMminer Version
Uptime   1
Load Average   0.13, 0.04, 0.01

Tried power reset, leaving it unplugged, everything I could think of.
What should I do?

New "self tuning" firmware takes up to 20minutes to start mining after a reboot, during which time it gives that error. Try leaving it running for half an hour and see if its ok.

Also check what batch of miner it was, some firmware is only for the later batches.
A screenshot of the 5th running would be helpful.
It takes 7  minutes to boot on the new firmware for me.
Is this a 11.85th or 12.93th? 12th seems to work but 11th not as much. Better to keep the original firmware on older s9's
Sounds like one board dead one board running and one board running crippled (just a few chips running)
New firmware won't help 5.6th
Sounds like 2 boards need repair.
Without screenshot cannot be sure.
