I just got a new s9 yesterday and it's the best one yet for me. 13.5th using autotune. Hopefully it keeps going strong like this for the next couple years.

Just got my new S9 in.
Hashing at around 13.7 pool side.
Autotune only.  Yet my fastest and cheapest S9.
So far had one board go out on an older S9, and then the rest do about 1TH under what is reported.

S9 11th and R4 reappeared as sold out items on bitmain.
Next step, they will probably un-grey, prepare your coins...if you got 'em..
...or pay the draconian 4% coinbase CC fee
I pass.

Been lurking for a while now... Good news! Is this what happened in the past prior to product becoming available?

I have been out of the mining game for a while now, but wanting to get my toes wet again. It seems Bitmain offers best bang for the buck for a while now? Though, it is arguable whether a ROI is possible or not evenb with an S9 at the moment. Are 5% reasonable assumed average difficulty jumps at the moment? What are the current thoughts on getting back in the game and a possible ROI? Start off with one or two S9s, due to possible hw problems? As far as I can tell, except for a PSU there are no accessories required. Power it up with an ethernet connection and good to go?

What are the experiences out there, about 24h data volumes mining with an S9? Is it feasible to mine via TOR?

What is the consensus out there about powering an S9 on an EVGA 1300 - should be a good fit?

What are the experiences with overseas shipping costs? What are the expected shipping costs to Europe, US, Australia, Africa anybody?

Sorry for these basic questions. I did browse through the thread, but really cant be reading the whole thing, even though it is a lot shorter then the old knc thread... I appreciate any thoughts an inputs (please don't shoot me down in flames Smiley

PS: There is also a new kid on the block with a slightly more expensive rig here. The website is very slow and often times out though:

speaking of Denver, they have had one of my boards for over a week now and still no diagnosis. Not very happy with them at the moment plus another s9 I own that they repaired runs like shit.

Bitmain products are like a box of chocolates, never know what you are going to get   Huh

Check your spam folder.  They are usually pretty good about being faster than that.

network hash increased sharply, maybe another S9/R4 batch is being baked-in.

in the antminer s9 interface under Miner configuration i dont have the option to modify the frequency. Do i have to update some specific software to have that option. The reason why is that i want to lower the frequency because the temperature is to high. constantly working o0n 100 celsius

tough luck dude.

all newer s9's are auto tune  :

no freq adjustments

Is it a problem to have it working on a temperature around 95 celsius?

105 is bad 95 should be good.

s9 gear breaks a lot  it is not very reliable.

at best  it has about a 10%  breakage rate.

I am at about 16%  3 bad boards of 21  and maybe  a fourth as I have a shaky board.

And 1 bad controller out of 7

You need to poke them on your ticket.

my order was due to arrive today 40 minutes ago.  but fedex site has it in Hong Kong    as of 9 hours ago.

So it will most likely arrive 1 day late.

This will be my first auto tune gear. For the s9

Tipping your toes back into the S9's Phil?

No.

It is for buysolar.
Will be interesting to see what date the firmware is.

Evil beware: We have waffles!
I've always used UPS and until the last 3 orders, for the past 3 years  all went from Shenzhen to Anchorage and then DTW. The last few s9's I've gotten, the first of them took the scenic route: went from Shenzhen > Soul Korea > Seattle > DTW, the last 2 orders were Shenzhen >Narita > Osaka (via truck I'd think?) > Anchorage > DTW.

Most odd.

yeah, some kind of bizarre movement. My miner spent the whole day today going from Shenzen to Guangzhou.
 Huh
My guess is that FEDEX does not fly from Shenzen and ships items to HK first.

yah most people don't fly 10 minutes of cargo ...  Cool

not sure that i understand this comment.
UPS was flying directly from Shenzen. I rarely seen miner getting to Hong Kong before being shipped out beforehand.
Also, why would it go to Guangzhou from Shenzen when Guangzhou is further north?
In any case, they are late.

If you have any questions I have been running four of them for a while.
11/29 is the latest firmware.
Takes 7 minutes to boot so be patent.
Really kicks the hashrate up nicely.
Fans spin fairly slowly so it seems quieter. Likes to run warm.
I even got a autotune replacement board for my regular s9.
If I run the autotune firmware.

Are you running the latest on the Autotune? I back dated mine to stop it from ramping up and down so damn much, does the latest still do this?
For the autotune units 11/29 runs well. For 14 days now.

Did it get rid of that up down howl the machine is known for?
It does vary the speed but the fans run slower so it is more quiet. I have all mine at the datacenter down the street.
I bring them home to test or repair.
Last one I took over was doing very well in my garage.

I have "heater" s7's around the house running at 400mhz and 30% fans. Nice. Use client mode wireless access points. Stick them in a wire basket.
I can run them in the car all night and keep the ice away. Just need power and wireless router.
I use one corsair RM1000 to run each at 400mhz

since these are never in stock, where else is it safe to buy (besides marked up ebay/amazon)  Huh
Just shut down another auction TODAY on ebay from the same guy that has a stack of hacked accounts selling s9 for $1500.
Wants bitcoin payments.
About 7 buyers got in before I shut it down. Over $10000 of bitcoin if they paid.
EVERY WEEKEND since August. Scammer is making piles of money.
You think 1000 positive feedback is safe? Many hacked dormant accounts with 1000 positive feedback.
They even rolled on a non dormant account. I tried to log on as the hacked account's owner and sent a pile of emails, texts, and robocalls to myself trying to reset the
password. Seems to get the attention of the owner.
Also I would detect the crook and commit to buy the damn thing without paying. Then turn around and leave negative feedback
stating SCAM, HACKED ACCOUNT
I can't tell you how many asses I have saved.

That sucks man! I have heard of people getting scammed by other scammers in ebay. So what is the best way to order other than ebay? ..Alibaba?
rwilliam45 on ebay has good units, he is reliable. Does not have any up right now.
If there is no selling feedback for a year or six months and they start cranking out $2000 items it is suspicous.
