I understand that they price the miner at $1442 for B12, but what about NOT matching the btc price.
Currently, price is 4083 RMB, which is $610.82
OR coinbase price is $609.9 OR bitfinex $611.86

NOWHERE it is 1442/2.431=$593

Is it so difficult to link it to the "real time" price?

Do you think they will ship without you paying first?

There are many other red flags in that listing, I wouldn't touch it even if paying by PayPal, especially after it's been bid up to $1575 last time I looked.

Location - London, I doubt any mining farm could be located there
Delivery - by mid-October (at least to the US, not sure of other locations)
Stock photo
30%+ discount for no reason (there is no newer hardware to upgrade to)

That's just from memory, too lazy to open that link again.

I decided not to proceed with the deal for various reasons but just to clarify:

Miners were in Guangzhou, China not London. I'll be in China in 2 days so I'd pick them in person.

Miners were used and without warranty hence the discount.

If I have some time to spare while there I'll try to understand if 2 btc per used S9 is a common price or not.

The warranty can't be worth 20-30%. The S9 failure rate is high but not nearly THAT high.

In other words, yeah the price is good, of the "too good to be true" variety. But there is probably a catch of some sort.

There was a tweet from bitmaintech some time back that said that bitmainwarranty wasn't actually part of bitmain but clearly there is a closer relationship there than just some other random company.  Bitmainwarranty has a bitmain avatar (they were the last bitmain account to post in this thread a few posts back), they have access to parts that the rest of the world doesn't, and they can fix antminers (depending on the problem).

EDIT: found the tweet: https://twitter.com/JihanWu/status/697816867876921344

Wu was referring to BITMAINwarrenty, diff spelling

Hmm.  I have never seen bitmainwarrenty (not that that means there wasn't something back when the tweet was made) bit I figured he had just misspelled it owing to English not being his first language.  As an English speaker I would be pretty skeptical of something called bitmainwarrenty anyway.

I can't get bitmain website to load.  I wonder if we are about to get prices pegged to BTC since it is going up.

Works here. Prices don't seem to have changed. 1442 and 1600 USD for B12/B13.

OUCH.

Still too pricey.

Yeah working again for me too but the BTC\USD price is lower than in reality.  Bottom of page shows $593.  Stamp is at $604 and that's the lowest one I see; $612 on bitfinex and huobi.

hello i have s9 batch 2 and till now hw error rate was 0.0005% or 0.0006% its around more than 2 month but now i am getting high error rate especially in 3rd board now the rate is 0.0050% and more can anyone tell why is this problem coming and what happens because of higher hw rate ?

Wear and tear.  Yes solid state gets wear and tear.

Lower the freq by a little.

Basically you are getting 99.995  success  vs 99.9995 success.

If you are set on freq 600 go to 593  run it for a few days,

Every machine has a sweet spot.    And with aging it could change a bit.

According to you how much should be hw error %  ?

Well you were doing .0005. I would try to go from .0050 back to .0010

I would move clock by 6.25. Say 650 to 643.75
Or 600 to 593.75
Or 575 to 568.75
Or 550 to 543.75

I would run a day and see what the new error is.
If not lowered from .0050 to .0010
I would drop by 6.25 a second time.

Always checking for temps. Say 65 - 95. Or lower.

If two clocks down for  total of 12.50 lower does not work. I would look at the psu closer.

All in all .0050 is not great but is still okay.

Does Bitmain warranty offer a full line of repairs yet? I've got two more hash boards needing some work.

I think i have to speak up. DONT expect too much about bitmain warranty..its a crap they want you to buy and thats it, wash hand.
I have sent my power supply 3 weeks ago, and all i have status of my ticket is Uncollected and Unrepair. I emailed them TWICE and received same reply (may be some of you guys received same):

Dear........
The package has been delivered to Hongkong.

It will take several days for Customs clearance, after which the package will be forwarded to our repair facility. We will update you on the status of the repair ticket when it has been completed.

Thanks for your cooperation!

So this is bullshit..Hei bitmain if you read this, here is my ticket number 033201608131130135924tsU0C4P065B, YOU BETTER FIND MY POWER SUPPLY AND FIX/REPLACE IT FAST!
It seem you force me to buy new power supply from you and i DID!... if we buy new one, they process and arrive quick...damn!

Sierra8561 was asking about bitmainwarranty (located in Denver) not the warranty you get with a bitmain device ordered from China.  It's counter-intuitive but bitmainwarranty (Denver) can repair your antminer for a price, or sell some parts, but their work isn't covered under the warranty even if the device is still under warranty.  Whereas bitmaintech (China) can do the replacement or repair under the warranty, but they take forever and sometimes refuse to honor the warranty.  Bitmainwarranty (Denver) is much more responsive and quick and for some parts of the world, cheaper to ship to.

So if you have a broken antminer that is inside the warranty period, you can take your chances and work with bitmaintech (China) and it will cost you more out of pocket for shipping, take longer, and may not be covered.  Or you can work with bitmainwarranty (Denver) and it will cost you less to ship but full price on repairs or replacement, and get handled much, much faster.

Time for reboot, if that does not help, possibly reset the unit to the factory default, then power it off, and power it back on, and upgrade to the newest firmware matching the original frequency, 550, 600 or 650!

good luck

Notice the Hashrate!

It is not actually producing this hashrate.  It is producing about 12.2TH/s, but very interesting!

It now dropped down to 12.256TH/s.....Why did it show 40TH/s?

it looks like a mistake

board RT hashratee seems to look ok (3-4Ths)

I want to open a repair ticket to bitmaintech for by dead board, where can I get the SN and Cert No ?
I don't know where you are in the process.  But if you are in the North or South America, I would suggest you contact Bitmain Warranty in Colorado before sending your board to Hong Kong.  I have sent two dead boards for warranty replacement and never received anything back.
If one of mine went bad now, I would have Bitmain Warranty repair it, even though they will charge you.  At least you will get it back in decent amount of time and it won't get "lost."

Hi.Where can I contact them ?

[email protected]

is another contact email for Colorado

Bitmain Warranty
3700 Quebec Street

Here are some reasons not to send to China if you are in the USA or Canada.

1)you need to send it valued for 45$ usd or lower.  an s-9 board is worth more like 450$ usd  so if it gets lost or damaged in transit you have  only credit for  45 $ as a claim.

2)shipping to Hong Kong is over 100$

I shipped to Colorado via usps flat rate for 15 bucks
I added 200$ insurance for 2 bucks.

So 17 out of pocket with 200 insurance

or 110 out of pocket with 45 insurance.

I live in Romania, where should I send it ? China ?
