I suspect that the bitmaintech psu is just a tiny bit short to run an s-9

it does need 210 or more volts so if in USA you need correct voltage wires.

now if you are looking for an ATX 120 volt option EVGA has them but they are costly

I think you will find a lot with the AP3 from bitmain - https://bitmaintech.com/productDetail.htm?pid=000201505040743496917U7kGsCm0694 . It is the one recommended from them "Bitmain recommends the APW3-12-1600-B2 power supply for both the S9 and S7 miner.".

Just make sure you have the 205V or more so PSU can operate properly.

Is the S9 as loud as the S7?

The fan noise on the S7 is unbearable compared to S3's. sigh.

So, What is the difference between temp(PCB) and temp(chip)? I understand the ranges for temp(PCB) is "keep it under 80c and runs most efficient at 58-65c," But what is the safe range and cutoff for temp(chip)?

my thoughts are the s-7 could run at 65 pcb for 6 to 8 months been there done that with two units that ran from sept 2015

which would mean 65-95 should be fine for long term runs.

so 66-96 to 79-109 is the gray zone.

My goal is to be under 70 -100 as much as possible. I am not looking to be a beta tester with 8200 usd worth of gear.

My unit is at 65/95/99% fan/13.6TH/650mhz.

I gave up on the HW error count - its like a counter, literally going up like speedometer - crazy

please clock at freq 643 for 24 hours and see what you get.
