Bitmain - This is my money, what your  bad customer service wasting.

48 hours and no answer for the ticket.  ticket 6132

Waiting for reply.

Starts the same old story, such as the S5 +
One of my  today arrived  S9 blade does not work in a couple of hours anymore. Low speed. After reboot only 2 blades. The red light is on, on all 3 blades. Power restart did not help . I Replaced the PSU. Did not help . PSU is now  Bitmains 1600W, was before IMB 2000W

If you are in the US and determine you need to RMA - my advice is to forget it.  Contact bitmainwarranty.com and send them your miner to fix.  You'll have to pay for it, but on the plus side you will actually get it back.  I sent a dead S7 board to Hong Kong per their instructions.  They claim it was never received.  It's a black hole over there.  To me it's actually worth it to spend the extra $ to buy the miners from bitmainwarranty.com.
Even if the Hong Kong facility repaired and returned the hardware, the lost time mining makes it near useless. IMO

Hello, I'm Not Fluffy and I have a problem...

Saw that the B3's are still up for sale so, um, ordered another...  Cheesy

I have to admit that I broke down and got a B3 as well. I re-ran the numbers earlier today and came up with a 199 day ROI. Not great, but better than over a year for B1 (which was around 4 BTC!)

Seems like 200 days is the new "normal" unfortunately. And I doubt we'll see much downward price pressure on Bitmain till the halving. Unless of course BW actually ships anything to end users. Seems unlikely given that we're over halfway through June, which was when they were supposed to offer miners to the public.

Anyway, thanks BTC for doubling in price and providing the admittedly thin rationale to feed my mining addiction Wink

B3 made a brief reappearance then went out of stock again. Maybe they updated the BTC price, which is now 2.81.

Can someone tell me the per unit UPS shipping cost to the US? I'm trying to do an ROI calculation (anticipating the next batch) but can't get the shipping cost because it's out of stock.
The shipping conf email for mine says UPS charge of 0.092 BTC which at the time I think was around $140 USD.

edit. Just did the math and cost was $63 USD.

Thanks!

Curmudgeonly hardware guy
Oh, you know it is. And they'll probably continue to ignore the cgminer open-source license terms. It's easier to hide advanced features from peasants like us.

S9 do not use Cgminer 4.8.0 ?  Instead is  BMminer Version 1.0.0
So called BMminer is most likely a stolen cgminer

As some might have noticed I have been giving multiple mining pools 24 hour run's with the S9.  This time I tried out Slush Pool.  During the 24 hour run the S9 hashed around 13.9T as shown with extremely low hardware which I have come to expect.   Still no issues with pool comparability, so yet again good news to report.  The pictures below show the results from mining on Slush Pool:

Try Nicehash and you will find only  issues with pool comparability  Grin

I have not tested nicehash with it's system, they always wanted you to use extranonce.subscription in past for best results https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=software#sha256 which I have not used one of nicehash's custom firmwares since S4 day's for me and it seems dated as they have not made it for recent systems. And even if they had one I would hate to modify original firmware anyways on the S9.  With nicehash you also have more pool resets/ server resets so it is tougher on the unit itself.   And honestly I don't see nicehash getting the big extra percentages over regular pools it did long ago.

I have been testing regular mining pools I see Nicehash and MRR as different beast's in my mind.   So I will continue testing different pools but those two I don't plan to be in them.
