Clueless!
crazy be the ones who buy the S9 at this price with halving coming in 1 month!
it would barely ROI without the halving ...

1 used KNC Titan mining at 325mh (less the 350mh max possible w/all working dies) at 1,250 watts and 14c kwh and $4.57 LTC gets you

using this 'open' calculator (you don't have to be part of litecoinpool to use it)

www.litecoinpool.calc

30 days   102.08649902 LTC   466.54 USD Total   126.00 USD Electric   340.54 USD  Profit after Electric

and that is for a USED machine. Converted to BTC that is at current $533 usd that is 0.6389118198874296 btc per month AFTER ELECTRIC.

Not bad for 20 month machines out there in some cases. NOT sure how this would figure on the price to buy a used Titan (if you can find one ..ie Unicorn Hunt)

but much better then this S9 especially at my 14c kwh rate (shudder). Also this depends on the speed of your used titan depending on the hash speed you can get.

So not only does it not work as well as 3 S7's it sure does not work with a Titan unit ..even used at 2.5k to 3k imho....just saying

Holy Moses, they did it again.
Only problem is ROI with that price tag. We are looking at more than 140 days.

I have the same thoughts. The power consumption and the efficiency is very good. But the price is too high.

The s9 seems over priced. To put this into perspective, let us compare S7 with S9. let say the aim is 14TH
1 S9 = $2100
1 Power Supply (from Bitmain) = $140
Shipping to the US (Fedex) = $75
Total = $2315

To get the same hash rate with S7, we need 3 S7s, 4.73 x 3 = 14.2TH
3 S7s = $1320 ($420 each)
3 power supplies = $420 ($140 each)
Shipping to the US = $140
Total = $1880

The difference is $435. If you think the space and efficiency worth the difference, go ahead and buy it. If not, (let say, you have a very cheap electricity, and plenty of space), S7 is a better option. If you ask me, I would say don't buy any of them. just wait until halving, the price will be more reasonable, and you can evaluate your investment better!

Nice Specs, Congratulations Bitmain!

Like others, I will just wait until halving, and then reconsider.

Hahhahahaha! $2100. BITMAIN must be feeling like top of the world right now to quote a price like this.

Well it all looks good on the www.tradeblock.com calculator on all this 7 months to ROI etc  etc

er WAIT....THE HAVLING IS COMING IN 1 MONTH

oops...don't look so goo now (*unless counting on a corresponding btc price rise)

so er NOPE not with a 90 day warranty ..halving coming up and 14c kwh ..I'll stick to the KNC Titans....(assuming I ever find any for sale again) Smiley

Can I eat a Bitcoin?
I like the hash rate, but that price though...Give it a few months and it'll drop in price.

Nice!  Impressive specs. which equate to timing of release.  So you may be close to roi by or just after halving but what then.  Who doesn't want one?  I think it still might be more viable to by btc now and hold.
The otherside of the coin is if btc jumps in price at halving this is the only miner to have.
Still, good job again seeing this through to completion as always.

so this does happen and it is late in China  but  I hope they fix this sooner rather then later.

This happened to me.  I paid within 7 minutes of my order.  It showed expired for about 3 hours.  During that time I flamed them with emails and support tickets.  They did not respond to any of those, but I did get a "Paid" email confirmation about 6 hours later.  21:00 GMT.

over the last 2 years this has happened 5 or 6 times to me.

I had trouble getting coins setup for the second unit first one was easier.

If you think the price is good, buy an s9. (imho $1200 is realistic)

If you speculate the price of BTC will rise before the halving, buy BTC.

If you are sitting on the fence unsure but in the future know you want s9's and need to spend funds then buy hardware for them in advance. ie. power supplies etc and wait a month or two.

Evil beware: We have waffles!
Since Summer is upon us, as soon as I get notice that my last 2x s7b18's I ordered last night are shipped (great timing there ay what?) I will be ordering an s9.

Right now I have 4x s7's running at home being 5.2kw worth of heat load being added to what my AC has to handle so is a no brainer there: take 3 of the s7's off line and replace with the 1 s9. Introductory pricing be damned the combined miner and AC power savings make it a winner for me. Best part is that the ~1,350w load fits perfectly with the 1,800w (2.2kVA) Cyberpower always on-line UPS at home so no worries about dropping >14THs from low power line or blackouts (also have a permanent home generator to handle extended outages) Cheesy. For those wondering, got the GE 11kw whole-house genset ~ 3 years ago after my area of Detroit had a 2-week long blackout -- during a big summertime storm the local substation literally blew which in-turn damaged the feeders to it ... Of course since then the longest outage has been maybe 1/2hr at worst  Roll Eyes

At least for now I can replace the last s5's I have at work with a couple of the displaced s7's and will have spares...

I wonder what the sound levels are like for the S9
