I just got my X1's finally on Friday.  I like the build quality of the units, and the touch screen and wifi has actually come in handy so I am impressed by the thinking that's gone into them.

I'm disappointed by the delays which have let BA down so badly, as it makes the devices unprofitable out of the box.  I hope they will compensate us asap with a higher quality hash board for each unit, eg a 14nm chip based one (a pipedream at the moment I know) that plugs into these boxes as it would be a shame to let them go to waste so soon.

^^^ lol

But.... seeing as I took delivery of an X1 earlier this month it looks like I'll (allegedly) be missing out on a X1.5.

That's good. People who ordered after me get a more powerful product.
Feeling the love here  Undecided

I ordered a year ago and have gotten nothing. No X3, no X1s. Now they talk about 14nm. What a joke. If they get one single preorder then i will have seriously lost faith in human intelligence.

Just got this by e-mail:

Quote
Compensation updated for Rent Some Minions

Dearest Black Arrow customers,

We are pleased to announce increased compensation and a rebranding of our Rent Some Minions product.

We previously advised those of you who were waiting for delivery of your Rent Some Minions cloud service to insert a finger in your anus and wiggle, to keep you entertained while you wait. In this light, and in reflection of our opinion of our esteemed customers, we have decided to rename this product Go Hash Yourself™. From this point, if anyone asks us when they can expect delivery of their order, we will respond loudly and proudly, "Go Hash Yourself™"!

Moreover, to compensate for the delays, we are pleased to announce that we will be able to triple the self-hashing power. You may now insert three fingers into your anus for the same price and wiggle to your heart's content. Lube will be provided free of charge upon request to our U.S. and E.U. customers; customers elsewhere who wish to receive lube must provide evidence that they are otherwise unable to insert all three fingers in their anii.

Black Arrow shall assume no warranty for brownouts, blown O-rings, or skidmarks. Customer shall be liable for any customs duties incurred.

Here, let me correct some mistakes you made in your post.

28nm Bitcoin ASIC

We are still heavily involved in the 28nm ASIC preorder scam.
We are unhappy to report that after bringing on board more fictitious third part manufacturers we have exceeded our initial delivery date by 6 months or 4.3 times by employing all excuses possible in ASIC and bitcoin miner development. Our current design efficiency is now 0.49/GH/s (according to our computer model) which allows us to build a 1 Terrahash unit that may or may not burn your sleeping children to death. This will allow you to mine your own bitcoins for a monthly loss of just $174.
We intend to make this chip available for sale only from stock (No pre-orders) the same way you can still purchase a non-existent X-3 from our website that is displaying IN STOCK with a shipping date of May 15 2014

Power supplies - fixed

14nm Bitcoin ASIC

We are still heavily involved in the 14nm ASIC project.
We are happy to report that after bringing on board more talent we have exceeded our initial 0.3W/Ghash target by 4.3 times by employing all techniques possible in ASIC and algorithm design. Our current design efficiency is now 70mW/Ghash (0.07W/Ghash) which allows us to build a 1 Terrahash chip in a single die while using 70 Watts at chip level. This will allow development of a 20Thash machine while using 1.5kw.
We intend to make this chip available for sale only from stock (No pre-orders)

Hmm dejavu,

This sounds very fimiliar, where have i read these kind of statements before.!!

Power supplies - fixed
We have stopped manufacturing X1 and we will be shipping all remaining customers X1.5
Certification for Prospero X1.5 is in progress.
In other words non-X1 deliveries have stopped (again), this time (flips excuse calendar over to October) "awaiting certification".

Power supplies - fixed

In the light of the issues encountered with a limited number of the Power Supply units, we have been pushing really hard the power supply manufacturer, Apluspower, to address all the issues. Apart from reliability issues, the PSU did not comply with EM emissions, although our contract with Apluspower clearly mentioned that the PSU must be CE and FCC certified.
As a consequence, after the PSU issues were fixed, Black Arrow went through certification procedures. Prospero X-3 is now CE certified. Please click here to review the certification.
We are happy to report that according to our knowledge, testing and 3rd party certification, Apluspower have now fixed all the problems discovered and reported and we have resumed shipping. Please note that the power supply is certified together with our Prospero X3 as a whole unit and not independently.
The old design PSUs failure rate is lower than 5% and replacement is only required to comply with EU/US legislation due to EM emissions. We will dispatch new PSUs on our own cost to all customers from EU&US who wish to receive a replacement, but please note that customs duty are the responsibility of the receiver. Customers outside of EU&US will be eligible for a replacement only if their PSU is faulty. We will not be requesting our customers to send the old PSUs back.

X1 manufacturing – in testing

We have stopped manufacturing X1 and we will be shipping all remaining customers X1.5 which contains 2 chips and hashes at 160-180 Ghash in an attempt to clear the compensation sooner.
Certification for Prospero X1.5 is in progress.

X3 manufacturing - fixed

We had issues with the speed of built for the new units therefore we had to make a contract with a new business partner who demonstrated that they can manage delivery of large volume in a short period of time.
Our new partner has just finished the first batch of units which will be dispatched today and tomorrow. Their assembly speed is a clear improvement and at this rate we will be finishing all X3 deliveries in next few weeks.

What about comp/MPP for the X-3 customers?  We are owed at least 3 X-3's for each one ordered. So far, those of us who have received anything have only a single X-3 unit (2 ghs).

Has anyone tried refusing delivery and demanding something better from MS such as Spondoolies or equivalent ? I wonder if that is possible. Just getting burned so bad it hurts.

I've refused the shipment last week, I wasn't expecting anything anymore from Minersource and suddenly someone tried to deliver the 2 X1's. Sad thing is my order was removed from the shipping queue months ago (cancelled) and I was promised a refund, which I never received.

I would be happy if they even refunded me half of what I paid by now..

I've tried to contact Minersource several times but they've been ignoring everybody for weeks now..

Good luck, hopefully BA and MS will do the right thing and start refunding their customers.

MS is refunding ppl from their groupbuy of BA equipment..!

That's a positive development, do you have a link to this group buy?

Hopefully they will soon refund customers like me who bought directly from their store, I could really use the money for the upcoming holiday season.

Thanks, I'll keep my fingers crossed. Would be great to end this pre-order drama in a positive way with a refund.

So this whole mess ended up in a happy end?

Absolutely not, I wish.. Maybe a few people got their money back but I and a lot of others are still waiting. It's been almost a year now since I bought from Minersource and almost 6 months when I first requested AND was promised a refund..  Angry

I'm curious how far through the shipping queue they've gotten so far. I hear dribbles here and there about people receiving their bricks.
