you can suspect a lot of those volume (which BTW is lower than Monero's one) can be fake and the market cap can be easily manipulated.

There are many exchanges with fake volume, asamof some of the largest.

Thanks for this great topic o0
I literally will rethink my strategy because as happened i infiltrated to bcn/xmr market time ago & playing games with bots ...

And other thing is that its really weird after years of constant learning about cryptocurrencys overnight one can change a mind to unlearn whats learned. Scams really hits to fail mass adaptation. Win-win here was free bitcoin faucets, and alts failing here much from what i see.

I know that the Cryptocoin development is full of scams. In fact, I've single handedly destroyed a number of  bitcoin clone coins simply by looking at the source code and and revealing to the miners that the developer was being dishonest about the coin.

This is worth re-taking a look to after today's debacle... BCN got into Binance, went a few time 10x up in price then all exchanged oddly disabled deposits... People were buying from poloniex and sending to Binance but to no avail... There's tons of people complaining of losing money and myriads of stuck transactions.

Makes me wonder if this was in insider job. Was there yet another backdoor in bytecoin's code that would allow to halt the network? Was this the last avail of developers to dump their coins?

I've made a thread to discuss this new incident here.

Maybe the 82% premine? Ya think?
How much of that do you think they've been able to dump?

I lost alot of respect for Binance when they listed this scamcoin.
There were huge volumes and one'd wonder where those coins were coming from when deposits were disabled. There's still a big difference in price between exchanges.

I think BCN is close to be desisted from Poloniex, so they need to do something.  Next delisting is coming fast. And Poloniex will delist like 10 coins to make space for new coins.
BCN guys are way to smart to just let it happen without fight.

It calls to mind the reuse of Dr. X's Aircraft Carriers in Diamond Age.  That massive instrument of death and destruction crafted from the taxes extorted from the productive and then abandoned, finally carrying and supporting the vast population of orphaned Chinese girls that proceed to transform society.

Extremely great analogy.

Though I must say, I am a bit partial to this one....for {unknown} reasons....

This CN debacle has more intrigue than Game of Thrones.

Do you understand the difference between cryptonote and cryptocoin?

that's really disrespectful to the developers that made those clones. You didn't even acknowledge all the effort and hard work they put into it.

By this time, Bytecoin has a little more than 80% off the total emissions being mined.
They developed code for the principles stated in their whitepapaer, and in april 2012 they released Bytecoin.
All copyright messanges in Bytecoin code are copyright Cryptonote developers.

There have been several cryptonotes.  None achieved a level of community support so well as XMR, and AFICT, always because of issues of transparency, misrepresentation, contract stability.  (The latter can be construed to include a credibly sustainable development trajectory.)

So there was mention of them using the same photo's for these aliases, has anyone run those through tineye?

They use different photos, but the same distinct photo style. And the pics are the same on different medias, like LinkedIn, Twitter, AssetRush web page.

I ran them all through tineye and it yielded nothing. My guess is they obfuscated the pics with purpose. You see the black, white and orange style here: https://assetrush.com/about

All in all, I don't know what Jenny's plan is with regards to Bytecoin and AssetRush, but I will certainly keep my eyes open for anything they announce.

Just one more thing: AssetRush team member Mary Giterman, who seems fake as well, may be the person owning these accounts:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/gitmary-1009398
https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/gitermanmary-1038651

Mary seems to have been a part of Soarcoin earlier, whose founders probably profited greatly as they issued all coins to themselves, then sold on exchanges while doing the regular marketing push. Looking at Mary's earlier posts, she is prior to this looking to buy multiple high-level Poloniex accounts with high withdrawal limits. I have not managed to connect Mary Giterman of AssetRush with Mary Giterman of Soarcoin, but it seems unlikely there should be two such persons with the same name, both involved as early adopters in crypto.

Yeah, I thnk your right. Looks like all geberic shots they just grabbed somewhere and changed up just to trick tineye.

Im about to start a CryptoNote clone, Breakoutcoin, just for the ring-signature feature. The only thing that concerns me from this thread is the speculation that there may be backdoors in the core code.

Has there been a real code review either by Monero or others?

Where is this "Speculation"? I speculate that there is FUD afoot. Either way if you don't know the answer to this then you need to do alot more research before launching a coin let alone a cryptonote one.

Lol, now he started following a couple of Italian news outlets instead.

Hah, say something to make him follow trump. Wink You know all good Italians love Trump.
