This isn't an easy fight for Brandon but so is Figueroa, Brandon is not a hard puncher and loves to fight inside and mix it up, if Magsayo is going to win against Brandon he better make sure that he can last a full 12 rounds because Brandon can keep up as we have seen on his match against Fulton.
Brandon throws a lot of punches like Vargas so he should impose himself by connecting big shots, this fight is 50/50 for me but I'm hoping that Magsayo can bring on his best form because Brandon is one tough fighter.
That’s also my view on this match. Brandon is really a tough opponent and is not easy to lose. He has a high current knock-out ratio as he knock them out most of his opponents, that’s why Magsayo should have a good defense here so that he can still beat Brandon at the end of the match. For now, my bet is still 50-50 but my hopes and expectations is that Magsayo will still be able to perform better in the ring as this will mark a good comeback for him.

Also, not many Filipinos are having their boxing belts today. People are waiting for the next Pacquiao in the making.
But in any case, Magsayo for sure knows the caliber of his opponent. So he should not take this fight lightly.
This is only about a month from now, so I believe, both boxers are now in serious mode of training.
Read some prediction odds on this fight and some are highly favoring Figueroa to win this fight.
Let us see when crypto bookies list this fight and see what they have for the odds. The odds may be close to each other.

Mark Magsayo already faces some top fierce in the Featherweight Division like Gary Russel Jr. and Rey Vargas.

Facing Figueroa, there should be at least a bit of an advantage for Magsayo in terms of experience.

As both of them I believed are hungry for a title, I expect that we can see a close and intense match here.
Both are experienced in their respective status and yes they are also both Hungry for title so we will be betting here with complete blindness whom to win.
not like in most fight that there are advantages or bigger reviews? in this fight both are almost the same as valued so yes this will definitely an exciting event that will be recorded for the  boxing industry this 2023.

That's what make this bout a good fight to see next month because even they ranked over and below each other, their power difference are somehow the same and that would likely mean that we might see a close fight that will likely finish in a decision. Although, I like to point out that Magsayo got some kind of advantage over Figueroa as he had some experience already.

I would like to see the same,  since Magsayo  have that experienced he can use that to push his shot and claim the title, not an easy task but if he can pushed for that solid combination he can forced Figueroa to a toe-to-toe confrontation.

Hoping to see that he will take that advantage  to box and corner his opponent and takes the win. Everything will be concluded  after the fight looking to see enjoyable  actions from both fighters.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small
Magsayo is a KO artist too and take note that most of his KO win are done in the Featherweight.

We have to consider that the Featherweight division is Magsayo's comfortable weight zone. Figueroa, on the other hand, is quite new here. I know that about 4 lbs difference from 122 to 126 isn't that gap but the fact that some additional training is needed in order to keep up in shape to 126, the adjustment is needed in Figueroa's case wherein on the other hand, Magsayo doesn't need any adjustment but rather just continue to improve his performance.

Magsayo wants to get back again at the list of title holders that's why he will surely be aggressive to win.
Yeah I know, but Magsayo last few winnings doesn't always win via KO, although both fighters ever fight with Julio Ceja, when Ceja fight with Figueroa the fight end in draw but when Ceja fight with Magsayo, Magsayo win via KO. But Julio Ceja haven't fight for 2 years before he met Magsayo, not sure if it's a valid reason because Ceja wss really bad in that's match, he was fall in the first round.

But I still think Figueroa has more advantage, he was fight many good boxers in super bantamweight.

I would like to emphasize the fight of Magsayo against Ceja, it was really Ceja who is winning the fight, it's just that Magsayo found a good counter shot that hurt Ceja and eventually knock him down. If Ceja was careful that time, he might end up winning via upset, so Magsayo really not that good, he needs to improve his stamina and his boxing skills to get par with the champs.

Magsayo has been strategic during his fight with Ceja though it was obvious that Ceja has a huge chance to knock him down before. Magsayo knows how to counter his opponent though he always struggles despite his aggressiveness. He should learn how to counter the possible movements of Figueroa and try to learn his weaknesses so he could apply an effective strategy again.

He already suffered a loss, I'm sure he will do everything to improve. Besides, he is still young and as long as he'll be champion again, he will surely have more fights and win to earn. This is a big test for him, sometimes phychological problem would be an issue, hopefully he will be mentally stable too in this fight and will just forget his past defeat. He was defeated by Rey Vargas in his last fight, but I see a different fight, it should be a UD win by Rey Vargas.

Gary Russell though is injured that time and others say that if that is not the case, Magsayo will not be the champion. And true enough in his first title defense, he was beaten by Rey Vargas in a close match and judges awarded it to Vargas in a split decision.

Facing Figueroa, there should be at least a bit of an advantage for Magsayo in terms of experience.

As both of them I believed are hungry for a title, I expect that we can see a close and intense match here.

One real advantage though if Mark is that he has the power to knockout everyone. So if Figueroa thinks that he can just steam roll and walk in front of Magsayo just like what he did against Fulton, he might be for a short night as one punch will get him to the canvass against Mark's power.

Figueroa being a volume puncher can put Magsayo into a disadvantage.  If Magsayo failed to KO Figueroa I think, the hardworking and volume punch of Figueroa will enable him to win the fight.  Magsayo often have problem with his stamina and often time fell short of breath even before the fight end.  So if Magsayo failed to fix this problem, for sure Figueroa can dominate the later part of the fight while Magsayo is having trouble keeping up due to stamina issue.

Why it became a disadvantage for Magsayo if Figueroa is a volume puncher? Since when being a volume puncher can put disadvantage on any boxer? It's just a normal scene for a boxers to face a volume puncher. Magsayo already have many fights on his career and it's impossible that only Figueroa is the only volume puncher there. Smiley

Magsayo already handles even much deadly fighter compare to Figueroa. No disadvantage for him but I see both should be equal. Strategy will be the key.

We will see that once the fight is already taking place, I'm assuming that after that lost from Vargas, Magsayo and his camp will try to improve that concern. He has been exposed after that fight.

Now he needed to bring his name back on top. Winning this fight is very important for both fighters
so expect them to really exceed from their limits and really to do everything to win.

I don't know, I feel that Magsayo is an overrated boxer.  I have seen his fight from his early professional career and I don't see anything special from him.  So it was not a surprised that Vargas beat him.  But I hope to be mistaken this time.

I really wanted to see Magsayo exceed his limit and to see his great improvement after the loss against Vargas.

Hard to say which one will win this fight, but I think the result would be Figueroa via decision. Figueroa is a KO artist, he often beat many boxers via KO, but Magsayo has an iron chin, so I believe we high likely see the fight end via decision. Figueroa have been defending his title for many times, while Magsayo haven't defend his belt at least for one fight. Both of them are in their prime too, so maybe the fight it's like 65/35 favor on Figueroa.

Hopefully this advantage of Magsayo, and the hunger for title will lead him to victory.

Magsayo is my favorite to win here I have seen his career build up in the US but Figueroa is not an easy fight he has a good knock-out percentage and is a very experienced boxer he can go inside or outside and loves to mix it up he's only loss is against Fulton, Magsayo will be challenged in this fight this is a harder fight than Vargas because Figueroa is a far better fighter than Vargas, hopefully, Magsayo lands big punches because Figueroa loves to comes forward.

Figueroa has so far held only one fight in the featherweight weight category in which he really won by TKO, but he has no experience in this category, which cannot be said about Magsayo who owned the WBC title there, however, bookmakers, and tau AI give preliminary odds in favor of Figueroa, I don't think that victory for him will be easy. Magsayo after losing to Vargas, I think he is very motivated for this fight.
This is indeed a new category for Figueroa but he is talented and have a great fighting strategy and the hype of his last match probably the current basis for the odds since Magsayo came from a big loss.
Magsayo should do everything here to bounce back, there’s still a good chance here for Magsayo as they are both a great boxer and a KO master. I’ll try to look for more details about this match but I’ll be honest, Magsayo will still be my bet here.

Magsayo will bounce back here, and he’s more eager to win again.
Though this will still be a hard match for him because Figueroa is also a good boxer with a good record for KO winning, Magsayo should train harder and study the movement of this opponent. Despite the odds, I still see Magsayo to win here and I’ll support him because I want to see him winning again.
Magsayo is also know for KO master, its just that he landed on his first loss on his last match but that doesn’t mean he’s not good anymore. Fighting against another good boxer is a big challenge for him, he should match the skills and gaming strategy of Figueroa so he can have a good chance of winning here. I’ll look for a more detailed odds though as we can see, many are in favored already with Figueroa which is pretty normal.

I suggest you watch Figueroa vs Fulton and see the work rate of Brandon:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YfRYixUEj4

But he is moving up to 126 lbs and fighting a natural featherweight, so this fight is really very interesting and hard to see who is going to win. Magsayo is coming off from a big lost against Rey Vargas and the same with Figueroa against Fulton. So they really need to win here to get back on track to become another wold champion.
watching the video you shared, this could be a hard fight for him especially when he is fighting a natural featherweight. Figueroa needs to improve his defence, through out the match you can see Fulton kept getting a clean hit on his head(but damn, I am impressed by how he take those punches). Magsayo is a heavy puncher if he doesn't improve his defence this could be very bad for him.

Both are KO artist with 1 lose apiece. It's hard to predict who will win but I'll always support our very own Magsayo.

Based on the betting odds, https://www.oddschecker.com/boxing/brandon-figueroa-v-mark-magsayo/winner.. not sure if it's already official no sportsbook are listed in there, it was Magsayo who is the underdog, so it's a big challenge for him, and I like to back him since he came from a big lose.
