it is a decision for Magsayo , like what most votes here now and I am sure that with his confidence and advantage he will get this title .
though Figueroa on the other hand is great boxer but this is not for him now , the Filipino Moxer has all the potential to partially take this win.

Most likely he will gonna win this fight because his last fight was not enough performance for him to continue winning and to stay on a clean record.
so he will bring the best this time though I believe that each time boxer go up the ring? they are all ready to bring what they can give that moment.
Quote
Now that he has 1 loss on his record, he really needs to move on and keep doing his best to train more and improve himself and also use every opportunity like this to prepare for a big fight against a stronger opponent in the future.
that will boost His spirit to take another step and change strategy and extend His boxing skills.
Quote
He needs to move on and put some extra effort into learning new power-punching skills in every fight so that he can surprise his opponent that he will be surprised by them.
exactly , sometimes it is not only the power punch but the ability to surprise one  oppnonent .

Just being a biased here that's why I'm in favor to Magsayo. But I consider Figueroa as a threat and not that easy to beat.

Both are eagerly want to become a champion and expects them to show all their best to be the interim champion.

Since Vargas lose recently against Foster, the winner of this match will have another challenge to think as they will have to go against Vargas to fully claimed the belt and being a champion.

I'm surprised on the Vargas - Foster match the shorter Foster uses the distance to connect and find the angles when it should be the tall Vargas doing this stuff if Magsayo wins against Figueroa, he'll have to watch the Foster - Vargas match he'll have insight and develop a good method to beat Vargas this time.
I'm pretty sure Magsayo will be motivated as he can now exact his revenge against Vargas but Figueroa is a tall order, he has two mountains to conquer to win the title again.

Motivated indeed as he has now some sort of a template on how to beat Vargas if the rematch would happen and not just rely on that one-punch knockout but first he should first concentrate on the Figueroa fight and not to be too confident on this upcoming fight as we all knew that Figueroa is also a hungry fighter for that title.

It's just unfortunate for Magsayo to win two fights (Figueroa and Vargas) to have that regular title belt but on the positive side, he could gain experience on how to technically beat boxers who are taller than him.

I will choose Magsayo by KO or TKO not just because I'm a filipino, wherein it's base on his technique and strength that always bring the opponent down even in just a short period of time.
Actually i used to watch his highlights and he is getting stronger which is very impressive even his opponent is tallest than him and has good history, he still can get the belt.. So for me this match is for Magsayo..

But it is a tough match up for the Filipino, Brandon Figueroa is relentless in his attack and are not afraid to get hit. If you see his fight against Stephen Fulton, it was a war, back and forth action and others think that he might have edge Stephen, but the judges awarded the fight to Fulton.

Now, he weight up a division at 126 lbs and now challenging the former champion in Magsayo. Mark will have to bring his very best here against Brandon because this could be 50/50 or maybe the bookies will see Magsayo as the underdog here, I will not be surprised though if this listing happen.

It will be interesting to see the upcoming March 4th boxing fight of the former world titles that they have held for a while, this could be the boxing that many boxing fans have been waiting for between Magsayo vs. Upcoming Figueroa.

I'm pretty sure both of them will try to put some of their explosive styles to good use and are exciting to watch, I'm pretty sure both of them will be defending their respective featherweight divisions and betting professionally.

I also wonder if Magsayo will be able to regain his lost status, if Magsayo will put on a spectacular show and bet with Figueroa, but i saw the fight between Magsayo vs. Figueroa will end in a draw, both of them have a good betting style and they are also the same age of 26 years, strength is also not in doubt for both of them, I believe their fight will end in a draw.

And Foster winning against Vargas, the Featherweight division might go back with him as the WBC champion. So this fight is very important for this two, because sooner or later the winner might be Vargas next target once he moved down.
It was upset, Vargas doesn't look like a champ here. Foster knew what to do in the ring, he was in control of the fight until the very end, and this guy is so lucky to have won his first championship fight. So no more Vargas vs Magsayo, but if Magsayo will fight Foster, he'll be fighting a better fighter.

Vargas goes on the proverbial, "biting off more than you can chew", and so Foster deliver his promise in this fight.

So I do agree with what most posters said, it will be the winner of this fight as interim champion vs Vargas who is the regular champion of the WBC. He failed in his campaign to move up, but the good thing is that he didn't vacant. Maybe he tested going south, but it didn't work with him as he take too much and Foster was the better man that night.

Less than a month for this fight, but I have yet to see the odds on my favorite sportbookies.

It looks like Vargas won't be moving up in weight division soon.  So it is interesting to see the outcome of the fight between Magsayo and Figueroa if Vargas will accept the winner of the fight as challenger.

No need to think if Rey Vargas will accept the winner of the Magsayo vs. Figueroa bout as a challenger because whether he likes it or not, it will be a mandatory fight for him to fight an interim champion. A mandatory title defense is really the next thing he will be assigned if he loses to Foster.
yups as He has no chance of deciding not until he made His own name in boxing and take to the higher tier , but in his standing and position now? he will face whoever the promotion tells him.

I guess that is not the case because even if the specific boxer manages to carve his name in the industry and has managed to be the unified champion, that same boxer still have to fight someone who got the Interim belts of his regular belts. It's designed that way to prevent champions pick their own fight once they got the titles, there will be always a mandatory fight every now and then that will be given to them.
Exactly, a champion should be sanction to fight the challenger who are at the top, that way he will really be tested if he is still the best. Because if they will not make that, then it would be easy for the champion to cherry pick an opponent to ensure he will still  hold the belt/s for a long time. Once a champion stays a champion for a longer period of time, that would only mean he is a good fighter, and it's up to him if he will decide to go up and face new challenges just to push himself to his limit.

Should be an easy path to the Featherweight title for the winner of the Magsayo vs. Figueroa bout if Vargas won instead. If that the one happened instead, Vargas will surely choose to stay at 130 and vacant his 126 title giving the winner of this match to be elevated right away as a Featherweight champion.
it is His choice to make , Vargas in no wonder will maintain his title or 130, because wherever he has confidence then it will be better for him.

I don't know if we can call it an upset, although Vargas is the favorite, but it was very close odd if I'm not mistaken. Foster is very confident going into the fight, there is an intense stare down and he always says that he will bring back Vargas to 126 lbs. And that's what he did in this fight, he completely destroys the tall Vargas. Rey can't even take advantage of his height and reach because Foster is so good at shifting and it makes it difficult to Vargas to him hit cleanly. Now, losing make things complicated for Magsayo vs Figueroa. As the winner will have a chance to have a crack against Vargas as he will be moving down in weight. Will it be Magsayo vs Vargas rematch? or will it be Figueroa vs Vargas brawl?

I do not think Vargas will stay in super featherweight, unless he has a rematch clause in his fight against Foster.  I also think that he will go back to Featherweight division to defend his title.  So we might hearing a news soon about Vargas defending his belt to the winner of Figueroa - Magsayo fight.

Even with a rematch clause, that fight between Vargas and Foster is not even close.

Vargas is truly dominated by Foster at most rounds and not even a competitive fight. The scorecards will tell how Vargas becomes an underdog where in fact he's the Favorite to win. Maybe Vargas overthinks too much and believes he can do whatever he thinks.

He will go back to Featherweight after that loss and that's for sure. He will face the winner between Magsayo and Figueroa.

Unless he wants to stay at 130 lbs, he already tasted this division and lost already. So the best option is to go back and defend his belt. Although one compelling reason for him to stay is when his body can't squeeze to 126 lbs limit. He is a tall boxer and maybe they are going to look at this problems as well and where they are going after his first lost.

I think with Vargas losing to Foster, he will now think of not pursuing his goal to stay at 130. That surely change his thought that he was not ready yet to conquer the 130. He will surely go back to 126 and will defend his title at the 126.

The rematch between Mark Magsayo and Rey Vargas is now possible to happen.

Magsayo now needs to do his best to have a shot at the title he owned before.

The defense of Foster was like the defense of Mayweather, and Vargas has no idea how to beat the challenger, although he hit some good shots in the later rounds, but he was really tired, and good thing Foster had already invested early. This is one of the fights in that the champion does not get the sympathy of the fans for losing via unanimous decision.
