You guys are measuring the wrong way. Yes they might be both coming from a RECENT loss but lets look at both of their track records over years. Obviously Figueroa might have been on a bad luck streak just like Magsayo, but Magsayo's history is less flawed by a 1 fight (draw). So how does one even compare the two histories? Its hard to tell but Figueroa has been showing more weakness in the recent past, so my money is on Magsayo.

Just because he recently had some bad luck in his fight against Vargas and has finally gotten 1 loss does not make this an eventuality which will happen again. 24 wins 1 loss. Cmon.

But looking at the statistics, even though Figueroa has one draw, his knockout record is more impressive than Magsayo.  Besides, Figueroa is taller and has a reach advantage, if Figueroa mimic the strategy of Vargas, I believe Magsayo will have a huge problem in this fight.

I definitely agree! All boxers have their own failure in this industry and the good thing about them is that they aren't measured by the loss they had but with what they did after the loss they experienced. Both Figueroa and Magsayo came from an unfortunate situation, both boxers didn't want that for sure but they needed it because by that, they will be molded as a much better boxer. But since we are here speculating and putting some bets, my money also goes for Magsayo even if he will be listed as favorite, it will still be Magsayo.

When it comes to betting, I will also go with Magsayo not because I think he is a better boxer but because he is a fellow countryman, and I do that to show my support

I am not so sure about Figueroa after watching him struggle and lose the fight against Stephen Fulton Jr. in November of 2021 and he only had a single fight in 2022. What happened? Depression? All in all it seems like he is starting to lose steam and its all going a bit downhill for him, currently. That really does not spark confidence for me to bet on him.

I don't think it's a struggle, it was a very close match to me, Brandon though throw a lot of punches and Fulton that eat everything and didn't even go down in that fight. And it's frustrating for a volume puncher to see that. He should be rematching Fulton, but Stephen decided to go to Inoue. While he challenges the next biggest puncher in 126 in Magsayo.

On the other side, Magsayo has been winning and fighting year to year. Absolutely no stopping him! Aside from his one recent loss, his track record is way better. Obviously he is going to win this fight with certainty.

He lost though so he is stop on his track, so both are coming from a lost, and so the winner will obviously bounce back with a big win here.

Both are coming from a huge loss and this is what makes this fight so exciting to watch, the winner will move forward to the title while the loser will have a hard climb to get into the rank, nobody wants two successive losses especially if you're a former champion like these two.
Both have the same fate of losing via decision and I don't think these two will trust the judges so they will try to finish the fight via stoppage, both fighters don't want the judges to have a role in who will move forward or who will drop in the ranking.

Odds are already out and as expected, Mark Magsayo was listed as the huge underdog here which for me is a good thing because he is a very live underdog and could upset Figueroa come fight night. For sure i'll be betting for Magsayo here as i love betting on the underdogs but i'll still wait for some options if there are juicy markets offered in the next few days but if there are no better options, this ML is a good one for me.
That's cool, it makes me wanna bet to Magsayo as well. I really like Magsayo to win this one after his current match, I hope they will come up with good strategy to win against Figueroa. I always remember his name when he got an interview in our local media channels people are happy with him and very proud I hope people here will still do, as former champion I believe once a champion will always be a champion. He needs to redeem himself, I want him to KO Figueroa, just kidding.

As much as I wanted Mark Magsayo to win, looking at their statistics and how Vargas exposed the weakness of Magsayo, I think this will be a hard fight for Magsayo.  Figueroa is also a knock out puncher with higher percentage KO than Magsayo.  Figueroa has height and reach advantage.  This is where I can see the problem, since Vargas exposed the weakness of Magsayo, there is a chance that Figueroa will do the same tactic.  I hope Magsayo has new strategy and technique to bring at the table and be able to work around those disadvantages and win the fight.

Seeing the poll stats on this thread, wondering if some of them will indeed bet on Magsayo as the odds are quite attractive.
Magsayo should finish the fight as early as he can if he wants a sure win on this fight.
If not, if this would go the distance, high likely that Figueroa will win via UD.
Other betting lines are not yet available but maybe a week before the fight they will open more money betting lines.
Magsayo should not rely that he will land a lucky punch on Figueroa because it may not come if Figueroa's defense is good.

Good that Magsayo is the underdog here, I think for us backers and supporters of Mark for sure we are willing to take that risk and bet on the ML or other odds that is higher. If even if he losses here and our bets, I think this is still going to be a good fight as Mark is going to carry our flag again.

Fight is getting closer, pull our trigger now, hehehe.

Hopefully Magsayo will go all out, this is his ticket to gain his reputation in this division.

It's too early to bet, but I like the odds. Magsayo is a heavy underdog, but we should not forget that he was once a champion, so he already knows the feeling of being at the top and at the bottom when he experienced his first loss. I'm excited to see how Magsayo will bounce back from a painful loss, so I have no doubt that he'll win this fight. With that said, I'll take the money line odds.

This is a great news! But it's not that too early for me because the fight night already fast approaching with now less than two weeks and maybe that odds is the biggest it can get especially for us as we're inclined and betting on Magsayo's favor to win the fight.

Thanks for sharing it @bisdak40 Cheesy

Going for the money line as well. This fight should be good.

I expected the odds to have a small difference seeing how Magsayo's performance in his previous fights(yes, including the ones with Vargas), I guess I was wrong and Figueroa is a far-known and more skilled fighter than Magsayo. that being said, I am still confident that Magsayo could win this fight.

I believe only Magsayo is coming off a huge loss because if we check the stats of Brandon Figueroa, he had one loss but that was prior to his last fight against Stephen Fulton, who is currently the opponent of Inoue. I believe Magsayo should be the more desperate fighter here, as he lost his belt in his last fight and needs to redeem himself in this fight.

Meanwhile, this division has a new WBA champion as heavy-handed hitter Mauricio Lara of Mexico scored another spectacular knockout to former champion Leigh Wood. It was a great fight and it will be interesting if any unification fights will happen in the near future. If Vargas will lose his WBC belt to Magsayo or Figueroa and the new champ wants to unify with the WBA champion, it will be a guaranteed war which is very entertaining to watch. The WBO belt is vacant while Luis Alberto Lopez also from Mexico won the IBF champion tiara just last December of last year.

For fans of Mark Magsayo, i know that you are eager to watch him rebound on his recent loss to Vargas but for me this is not an easy fight for him.
Figueroa and Magsayo are a perfect match because they have a similar boxing record, so yes it's not going to be easy for the latter to win on this fight.

But certainly Magsayo will do his best to redeem himself. He gained his first title but lost it 6 months later to Vargas thus it's expected now that he will prove himself again to deserve another title. I'm not really his fan but as a kababayan I wish him a goodluck for this upcoming fight.

Magsayo understands that if he still loses, it will be hard for him to get big fights and a chance to become a champion. As we can see, Magsayo is the underdog with odds around 3.20, which I believe is very attractive if you think Magsayo will win this fight. I have not seen Magsayo as an underdog in most of his fights, so it's worth trying our luck to support Magsayo and, at the same time, take advantage of the odds.
Yes he needs to redeem himself to his defeat match last time, for me it is kinda hard to predict who will win the match because yes they have almost same boxing record but their skills and training will be turning point of everything. I am rooting for Magsayo this March 4, i know that he will be pressured because of his record but then I hope he is more improve now and I hope he can match the aggressiveness of Figueroa.

“Figueroa and I both like to move forward, so everyone knows exactly what kind of fight this will be,” said Magsayo. “My goals are to give the fans the action they love and to regain my place in the division. I’m ready to face anyone they put in front of me. This is a true Mexican versus Filipino style matchup, and I can’t wait to get back in the ring to perform once again.”

I couldn't resist, I had to look for this article I read a few days ago, now that the day of the fight is approaching it will be becoming clear who people think will win this fight, in the comments and analysis that I have seen they do not give me clarity on who will win this fight, I still have many doubts on who I would bet if I were to bet on this fight

“I can’t wait to get back in the ring to do what I love,” said Figueroa. “I want to fight the best, so I’m very motivated to be up against a former champion at featherweight like Magsayo. I’m confident that we’re going to give the fans a great fight, because neither of us like to take a step back. This is my chance to really show what I’m capable of at 126 pounds and I’m just eager to dominate and prove it to the world.”

the impression I have is that these two fighters are making an effort to win this fight to have an Up in their career, it's as if they were falling at the bottom of the well and this is their chance to get out of the bottom of the well and return to glory, but I'm a little inclined to think that MAGSAYO has more chances of winning this fight, it will be a fight that won't be easy for him, but he has more chances of winning in my opinion

One thing is certain about this match that it wouldn't be an easy one for either of them and though they both want to win , there will be only one winner.
Magsayo has some advantages over Figueroa despite Figueroa being a great fighter, I know the match will be at the favour of magsayo.
But also on the other hand, I was actually putting some other factors into consideration like the height of magsayo which is less than his opponent but I've been a great fan of magsayo and me supporting him isn't because I'm a fan but rather because I see some great improvement on him and his skills which I know matter alot.
Yes true both fighters are good in terms of fighting also they have thier own techniques how to knock down thier opponent but in this fight I'l prefer for magsayo ad we all know how he fight inside the ring how he handle his opponent  , magsayo can control the fight by defense and have a good timing then a power punches will be release. But for sure this is not an easy fight because we all know how figueroa fight he is a tough boxer as well so this upcoming March 4 will be the judgment day .
It really would be a judgement day indeed and I really don't see any reason for me to miss this match and the only reason I think Figueroa might have an edge in this fight is because of his height, outside that I don't see any fate for him in the forth coming match but it will really be disheartening that at the end of the day that Figueroa later wins our own man and this fear this the only reason I'm also thinking on doing a double bet, just incase any of them gets to win because the result of this match seems really difficult for me to predict and at some points I have the doubt that magsayo will win.
Whatever the case might be, I wish them luck.
