The chance of GGG vs Canelo III is very slim, if both parties are willing to fight each other again, then the fight could have happened a long time ago. I understand that we want to see that great fight again as the last 2 fights were all controversial, at least for the fans of GGG who think he could have won at least one of the two fights.

I'm just trying to be realistic here but of course, I'd love to see that happen again.
I know that people want to watch a third edition between GGG and Canelo but it is not going to happen, GGG fights in the middleweight division which goes from 154 to 160 lbs however Canelo is moving to the cruiserweight division which goes from 175 to 200 lbs.

So as you can see the weight differential is simply too big, so either GGG moves to super middleweight or even light cruiserweight or Canelo will have to change his plans and instead of going to a heavier division move to a lighter one, something that is rare because as boxers mature they tend to move to the divisions above their weight and not to one or two divisons below their current weight.

The trilogy now is just a dream, it's far from happening, maybe after these two boxers will retire we will be able to see in an exhibition fight, but as of now, they have different plans and it's not easy to go down or go up in weight, it requires time to make it happen and I don't think Canelo's plan includes GGG now.

Stop this speculation for now until we hear positive words from Canelo as it looks like he will be the one who has to approve first before they'll settle.

We will see, there's a lot of noise right now that if ever GGG won here, he will get Canelo next. But Canelo will definitely have a dance partner this Cinco de Mayo and that the speculation that GGG will be next in the table for him in September, Mexican Independence day (which previously Dela Hoya holds that fight week). So still up for GGG to win big here against Murata and then go home and wait for Canelo.

So much information now here presenting about GGG vs. Murata and what really excites me now is the possible face off of GGG and Canelo once GGG made this fight a victorious fight for him. I am also rooting for the success of GGG over Murata and let's see how he manage to face the undefeated champion today, Canelo. I'm so excited to see them inside the ring fighting for the title belt I just do hope that this fight will be pushed through at the scheduled time.

^^ Good to hear that somewhat there is a progress already. I think April is a good date for the fight in Japan and hopefully covid case has subsided already.

And now that GGG is back on training, it seems that he still has something to prove and wanted to win because there is a possibility that he can get to Canelo next maybe in a catchweight or even at 168 lbs.

That kind of motivation will inspire him in this win, with lots of time to do the training, he will be more than prepared once the date of fight has been settled, having another shot to fight with Canelo will bring that excitement not only for him but also for those fans who still wanting to see this trilogy to take place.

Let see if how he will take Murata and see if he still has that power to win over Canelo.

Still too early for any conclusions, he should win this one first before jumping to another possible fight.

The news was that Canelo already agreed about the deal but GGG haven't agreed yet but I'm sure these two fellas could meet somewhere in the middle to make the fight happen this year if possible. Back to the topic, April is the month but date is to be announced soon just yet but hopefully they can settle about the date soon, GGG and Murata have a month left to prepare for this unification fight.

I got to admit that I'm a fan of Canelo Alvarez, but in terms of GGG vs Canelo fight, I am yet to choose a side soon. We might already know that Canelo was scheduled and set to fight against Makabu this Cinco de Mayo but suddenly, Eddie Hearn announced that the won't happen as expected. Lately, Canelo signed a deal to face GGG soon after his fight against Murata but GGG didn't signed the contract yet as he is busy now for his upcoming unification fight this April.

Yes, there have been post already saying that Japan might open it's border soon. So this might be the first in their calendar to be allowed.

He really need to stay on top shape for this fight and be not like a 40 year old fighter. So he goes on training mode again and should win this fight base on votes and odds and hopefully there will be no surprise upset, and then he can talk and call Canelo again post fight interview.
April is good month for this fight and still hoping that the covid will not spread again inorder to be good and the time had come GGG and murata enter the ring and  fight each other for the belt.
And yes GGG has trained well for this fight cause he wants to say that he can still fight and win against his younger opponents. And i think that he will win in this match.

The biggest challenge of Murata in his boxing career, but if he can at least give a good fight, I would vow on him as I understand GGG is a tough opponent to crack having almost an undefeated record. GGG might be a bit old, but you know, he seems to be in his prime still.

GGG vs.Murata in my opinion it is really a good fight. And right now I see this a vey competitive fight. Most people assuming GGG is going to win against Ryota Murata. Well lets just see..

Im still looking forward for this fight. (April 2022)

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.thesun.co.uk/sport/17672182/gennady-golovkin-training-ryota-murata-fight-canelo-alvarez-trilogy/amp/

GENNADY GOLOVKIN has started training camp for his rescheduled fight with Ryota Murata.

GGG announcing April as the new target date.

Golovkin, 39, posted on Instagram: "Happy to be back at training camp and to see my team.

"Hope that a date for the unification fight with Ryota Murata rescheduled for early April will be announced soon.

"I'm looking forward to traveling to Japan and to more BIG things in 2022."

At last! Something new to look forward to, and now that we know that GGG have started his training then it means that their fight is approaching and this might be the new fixed date of their unification fight against Murata if there's no other problems along the way.

Yes it will be! Murata may lack in terms of experience and ring IQ compared to GGG but I could still think that he can still keep up and give his best.

Oh well many people keep discussing about GGG vs Canelo, let's just stick with GGG vs Murata now because it's most likely will happen and the latest fight. Some article said it will rescheduled on Q1 this year, but it's already near 2 months left but there's no official announce yet.

However it's interesting to see the poll, all the 26 voters vote GGG here. It's seems Murata almost doesn't have chance to beat GGG and will be huge underdog.
Golovkin wishes to have a duel with Murata to add to his last belt as a professional boxer, but the match between them is not certain when it will be held, and where it will be held, the fight between Golovkin and Murata is scheduled for March and April, but that is still uncertain. , will it be postponed again, Murata himself has so far pocketed a record 16, and lost 2 times, according to Golovkin's prediction, he can secure his championship belt for the last time, and can beat Morata..

Let's remain optimistic that the fight will happen this year, I guess the restriction is lowered now, therefore it's not hard for them to host a fight. We have been waiting for this fight to happen because it's GGG fighting in a unification fighting, and I hope it will happen in Japan as previously announced.

I guess this fight will still take place in Japan because if they were planning to settle this somewhere else then they should've announced it already. They are still waiting for Japan to lift to open its borders and lift restrictions, I have read that they will slowly allow this March 1 but not for sports activities and other occasions that includes a large number of people. Nevertheless, I know this will fight will happen this year, somewhere in 2nd quarter.

Obviously Golovkin vs Murata is going to proceed as a sure thing for Golovkin and I think Murata knows it. Maybe thats the real reason behind the constant unending reschedules and waiting. Murata wants to put things off indefinitely because he can't really win against GGG.

I also find it quite amusing that all 26 voters voted for GGG in this thread's poll. Amusing but not surprising. I may be wrong for the reason why its being rescheduled but thats just my take on things.

Has there been any news from Murata on this?

I disagree, I don't really think that Murata is the one who is controlling it and the reason why the fight was postponed and needs to reschedule. If that's true, then that also means that Murata is the one who pulled the strings so that Japan will close its borders and raise some restrictions. The true main reasons why this fight was rescheduled is because Japan is still strict so that the omnicron won't spread throughout their country and affect their economy and its citizens.

Despite of that, Japan will start to ease their restrictions starting March 1 but such activities like sports are still prohibited.

Nah, I doubt that's the main reason, on the contrary, he might be eager to fight GGG right now because he wanted to show his fans in Japan.

It's not amusing, fight fans here knows that GGG will have all the advantage against Murata. It might be a very difficult and close fight, but in the end, it will still be GGG.

Has there been any news from Murata on this?

None so far except that there are news that Japan is easing regarding foreigners visiting their country. So that is a good sign that this fight might happen in the next couple of months.

I doubt that is the reason, otherwise, Murata did not agree to fight GGG in the first place. We all know that despite both are champions, GGG is still the heavy favorite to win the fight, and since they go for a unification fight, we consider this fight as the battle of the best.
