This fight might go to the decision, I reckon. However, the sportsbooks have not yet offered any odds for rounds betting, fight ending and round ranges. My only hope for this one is the sportsbooks are thinking something similar as much of the fans and speculate GGG will knockout Murata hehehe. This fight being in Japan is already head shaking.

My prediction aside from the Decision is that GGG winning a TKO within rounds 5-6. I will risk a bet there once the line is now available at my preferred sportsbook.

I don't consider GGG, even at that age, don't have that KO power. He still has that and since Murata is not within his league, he should possibly make that TKO win for a high chance. Murata I know will be on defensive style but still, there will be a moment that GGG can find a spot for a good shot that will make Murata being KO. GGG's experience was already full of different boxers with different styles. He knows to deal with everything.

I'm sure a TKO win for GGG will happen.

Do not assume that my comments are certainly sure for a victory on Murata. I was only arguing that betting on GGG with very small odds will be stupid. I ask anyone if they will bet on GGG, however, I saw no reply hehehe. This implies no one is stupid. Also, for this fight everyone appears to be predicting a knockout. I very much disagree. Murata has never lost with a knockout and in those losses he challenged those boxers again and it was Murata who won with a knockout. I predict a decision and it might be a split decision.

But for Murata fans, betting on this odds will be favorable for them. A lot of boxing matches ended up upset so won't be surprised if this one will turn out to be another one. I know, there are so many GGG fans here but we don't know what kind of preparation both are doing. Sometimes, it is all in the preparation. And yes, even if this will happen in Murata's home country, I am confident that they will do the right things here. Japanese people are one of the honest people that I know of.

Since a good bet for Murata fans that aside from betting on their Favorite, they have to chance to have a big profit in return. However, I can't really risk money on Murata even though I'm not a GGG fan since I can't really see him winning against the match. GGG will win either KO or Decision and I believe in that. GGG is not a boxer that really got weakened all these years.

His record will tell it all and he has lots of fights after surpassing his peak season making him dangerous even after his prime period.
Only die hard fans would make out some bet for Murata but if you do really make out some in depth analysis and some common sense then you would able to point out on whose gonna win.
The biggest differences are on the experience itself which is really a solid thing where you could really presume out that GGG would dominate Murata on this fight.
Even though he's past on his prime but doesnt mean that he wont really be dangerous as an opponent.Lets just see on how he would KO Murata on this one.

Well, even the hall of fame promoter Bob Arum is up to Murata and feels that GGG will be beaten by his opponent, not to mention because of their age gap difference. However, GGG might still get the highest bet knowing how popular he is, but Murata would surely get some bets for those who still believed on his ability to beat GGG. We'll wait and see by then as both are champions in their own ways.

It's a trap bro, lol.

Anyways, there's not much age gap difference. GGG is just 4 years old ahead therefore Murata is also considered veteran age in boxing at 36 years old. It now depends on how they maintained their training regime throughout entering the post-prime age. GGG is around 35-36 years of age if I'm not mistaken when he fought the prime Canelo on their rematch and he is ahead around 8 years of age but look how he performed against the latter.

See the picture of why age is not a disadvantage for GGG? That explosiveness is still on his 4 years later.

On the betting side, the odds for GGG winning either Decision or TKO is a good pick. Better place your bet now as it might change while the fight is approaching.

Ok here is the latest odds from sportsbet:

So Murata is still 4:1 underdog in this fight, and it also reflects the poll results. And I also don't think that there will be some home cook decision in this fight. Japanese are not known to be biased, so I expect a fair fight in the eyes of the judges.

I think that even this odds 1.2 can be considered generous for a bet on the victory of GGG. The difference in age is negligible and the difference in class is huge. Most likely, bookmakers give such a coefficient simply on the basis that the aging GGG will misfire in approximately the upcoming 4-5 fights simply because of his age and insufficient mood (now he is far from young and must mobilize all his strength for victories).

Below are some options/markets on the upcoming fight this Saturday and I do think that either fighter could win by a decision here so a bet for GGG via decision @3.25 odds is still a good one.

But I'm one of those people who believed that GGG is past his prime so I might go with Murata to win by decision but I have to wait for further development before putting my bet.

But for those who doubt GGG, why not bet a few dollars if you think Murata is worthy as that specific bet could be big in return if indeed by chances Murata will defeat GGG.

Don't worry mate, I will put at least $1 for Murata to win. LOL.
Kidding aside mate, I think GGG is really a strong fighter and Murata will not match his strength.

I hope I'm wrong because somehow I would like to see a very close fight, but I could not lie, I don't really see a chance that Murata will pull an upset here.

Who is going to bet on GGG and who is going bet on Murata.
I am going bet on GGG, the date is approaching as well. Let see who wins.
It's not about betting on who, but if you look at the stats and experience of the two, GGG is sure to win.
but who knows because anything can happen and what distinguishes Ryota Murata is only his height and reach which is superior to GGG, but I'm sure more experience will make it easier to win.
The match is only a matter of days and will be a fierce battle because it has been long awaited.

If the fight will went to decision Japanese culture is known for being honest no bias or whatsoever.

And we all knew the influenced of social media in case there's something doubtful with the decision, the camp can contest that decision

and if there's any proven evidence it can be change and give the win to deserving party. Still GGG have the eyes of bookies, he should

bring the favor back to those who will risk huge amount just to win lesser profits.

But on the other hand Murata is also not an ordinary boxer and he definitely wants to make something that people who see him definitely don't want to forget. even though he is the favorite but on the other hand this match will not be easy for GGG.

I agree on that, he is not just an ordinary fighter because he is also a champion, it's just that GGG is more popular as a boxer but of course, Murata has a chance of winning the fight. The popularity of GGG makes him the favorite to win the fight, and if we look at the betting odds, Murata here is a heavy underdog which IMO a good chance for the backers to take advantage of the odds if they'll like to put a bet on this fight.

Boxing Odds: Gennady Golovkin -650 favorite, Ryota Murata +410 underdog.

You can't trust Bob Arum, he has his personal intention and most of his comments are biased. He is a promoter, he knows how to sell fights and he knows how to lure bettors, so if you would put your money on Murata, I would say you are making a suicide.

I couldn't agree more about that! We shall not forget that Bob Arum is a hall of fame "promoter" and that being said that he is siding with Murata doesn't make sense and surely he has his own intention behind that statement as he himself have enough knowledge that Murata cannot possibly defeat GGG even with that age difference.

But for those who doubt GGG, why not bet a few dollars if you think Murata is worthy as that specific bet could be big in return if indeed by chances Murata will defeat GGG.

That's good pick in case line will be available, though most of the time it will be available when the fight is already ongoing.

GGG still has that power to KO Murata if the Japanese fighter will be careless during the fight.
A solid punch that will land to his cheek or any vital part will bring him down.

Knowing GGG, he was also good at orchestrating knockout attacks.

Best of luck to you!

@milewilda. Similar to what I have said in the other thread about boxing predictions, Murata might be very underestimated for this fight. The fight will be in Japan where Murata is the hero, GGG will be 40 years old on the day of the fight, Murata is only 36 years old with a 2 inch reach advantage. Also, all of Murata's losses he challenged those boxers again and won them each with a knockout. Would you bet GGG with very small odds?

That's true that Murata has the reach advantage, it's more like of an almost 5 inches reach advantage because it was a 12 centimeter gap. However, I don't agree in that particular statement that Murata's age is also an advantage compared to the 4 year older GGG at the day of the fight because that is just a short span and it's not that Murata have experienced and fathom GGG's ring IQ and experience when he was also 36 years old.

However, would you bet on GGG with very small odds and with this presenty old GGG who has some disadvantages against him? The fight also being in Japan is making me speculate that the referee and the judges will be in the yakuza's payroll hehehe. I would not be shocked if this fight ends in an upset split decision and Murata the winner.

If GGG wants to win, this fight should not reach the judges' scorecards, he has to beat Murata by knocking him out.
GGG has 36 KOs from 41 fights, I'm sure he can beat Murata by KO.

So if you want better odds, just guess which round GGG would stop the fight, or bet on ranges every 3 rounds.
I have a feeling 1-3 rounds gives better odds.

GGG winning by a knockout against Murata is not impossible, actually given his stats/record, the chances of GGG getting a KO is high and I don't doubt him at all that he can still do it this time around. Aside from that, he really needs to end this fight with an explosive finishing punch to attract more attention and put an end to the people who are doubting at his capabilities.

Aside from the tasty odds, can GGG really stop it between round 1-3? My best guess would be 5-7.

I hope not hehe. I also want to see GGG finish Murata with a good ending and that only way to do that is by a knockout because I'm also one of GGG and Canelo's supporter/fan and for that I want to see them in the ring again fighting for the 3rd time before GGG decides to hang up his gloves. Apart from that, I really believe that GGG can still do a KO to impress the industry again.

It would surely be nice if they update it and make other betting options aside from the ML. I'm also waiting.

I tend to agree somewhat the judges are more on host side, but if GGG is clearly dominating, obviously the judges will in his side. If the result Murata is the winner, pretty sure the scorecard get robbed.

Murata do have strong chin, his twice lose are via decision... so the odds for 1-3 rounds probably the highest. I'm not sure GGG could via KO, there's also a chance might be upset. Perhaps GGG win via decision likely to happen.
The judges can make a difference but only if it is a close fight, after all even if they reach the end of the fight and the judges scorecards will decide the fight, as long as GGG can dominate Murata over he should win the fight.

It is only when the fight is really close when a round or two could go to the local fighter and tip the balance on their favor, so even if I think that Murata is a good fighter I think GGG is good enough to beat him convincingly even if he does not deliver a KO on him.
