This is just my observation, seems to me that Gonzales is on the down hill of his career while Estrada is peaking.

We never know, just take a look at the case of Donaire many thought he is in downhill after his loss to Inoue but he made a resurgence and he is a champion once again, we cannot count a heart of a champion out, they know what's at stake here and both fighters will fully prepare for this fight, we all love trilogies and this is one trilogy in the making that will get hype because of the first two fights.

^^ Ok that is good news for boxing fans and as we all know that two fights are really classic and as you have said, it's 1-1 and this third fight will settle the score.

And as per sportsbet.io, the odds are the following:

Estrada - 1.85
Gonzalez - 1.85

Interesting that the odds is 50/50 as well.

This is one of the fights that i'm waiting for. Yes, for me it is exciting to watch and betting wise, you can get value of your money even if you only bet on the moneyline.

Though i'm a fan of Roman Gonzales but seeing him performed against Estrada last time, i don't think he would win unless something happens or Gonzales would hurt Estrada somewhere in the middle rounds.

This is just my observation, seems to me that Gonzales is on the down hill of his career while Estrada is peaking.

Same here, I'm definitely gonna put a bet on the winner last time, he has the momentum so I guess he could win the fight. The odds are great,  Estrada is not a huge favorite, so this is an opportunity for us bettors to place our bet early as I believe an odds movement might happen in favor of Estrada as the fight is approaching.

Trilogy is the best fight to watch especially when the score is 1-1 where the fighters once more will gonna prove to the people who is the best fighter among them. This will be an interesting fight since their rival is somewhat like Pacquiao-Morales fight where the match is purely unpredictable when they step in the ring. This should be a must-watch in my list since the date is close though.

Another great trilogy matches up that we can compare was the Barrera - Morales trilogy it was and still is the best trilogy to watch and this Estrada vs Gonzalez Trilogy can match the Barrera - Morales, this is a very even match and the fight could go either way, still, two months to go I'm sure there will be a good build-up on this fight, this is a match not to be miss because all trilogies are great.

It's means that even the punters are divided as to who is to be given the favourite in this fight because it's 1-1 with no real favourite as the fight can go either way.

But on the strengths of the last fight, I will give the edge to Estrada. But probably will end up on the judges scorecard and could be another close fight.

Some updates on this fight,

There has been some developments, the official date is March 5 as reported by several sports news outlet.

Quote
Estrada vs Chocolatito 3 tickets to witness all the action at Pechanga Arena San Diego on Saturday, March 5 are on sale. Tickets can be purchased through TicketNetwork.

Estrada (42-3, 28 KOs) took the revenge against Gonzalez (50-3, 41 KOS) by split decision last March. Their first fight goes back to November 2012 when ‘Chocolatito’ came out on top with a unanimous decision.

The pair is now set to square the difference in the trilogy. The bout is scheduled for twelve rounds.

https://www.fightmag.com.au/2022/01/09/estrada-vs-chocolatito-3-date-set-for-mar-5-in-san-diego-tickets/

So I'm re-opening this thread and let's continue our lively discussion as who do you think will win in their trilogy.

It took so long for the second fight to happen but I am glad they are doing the trilogy right away without a tune up fight in between. The first two could have gone either way and I expect the third to be really close also. Estrada was the favorite last time around but I expect Gonzalez to be favored in the third fight. I hope someone can win decisively this time and not leave it up to the judges so there will not be any controversy surrounding the decision.
It's not that long though, I mean there's Pacquaio having a two year stint and now he is fighting Spence. Hopefully we can see some knockout here so it's a bit worth it to watch the third match.
Having a long rest for a boxer quiet questionable if he can still fight, but these two boxer I guess they are still capable to explode considering their previous matches. Estrada and Gonzalez are fighting again to claim the throne and to be declared as the best. It's hard to judge since they tied at 1-1 and this match is indeed a decision match and this might be the last between this two, we don't know. I'll go for Estrada this time but I don't see a knockout on this match.

Regarding this fight, it's not a long rest between the two. They fought this year and then go straight for the immediate trilogy because of the controversial decision. I guess there are fighters that are affected by the long lay-offs and then there are those elite ones like Pacquiao or Loma who didn't seem to show ring rust. For the knockout, very possible, it's just the timing and the power behind the punch. If it hits perfectly, then someone will have to go down in this fight.

But if by chance it ended up in a draw and you put a bet on it, then surely it wll be a big win for you.

However, I will echo the sentiments of our beloved boxing community here, this fight is still 50:50 and can go either way. Chocolatito might have a slight advantage on power, but if you are like throwing 100 punches per round, it's hard to sustain that kind of volume. The best we can see is a technical knock down or referee stop the contest.

That will be a big risk and crazy in doing something like that, there is a small chance for a match like boxing ending up in a draw but eventually, it can surely happen, I think the percentage of this match ending in a daw will be a slim 5% in my opinion, where did I get the percentage partially just a speculation,

There is a high rate that the fight can end up on a technical knockdown than a draw in my opinion, but a higher percentage, that the fight would end on a Split decision again.

I also don't think this fight will end up draw, either TKO or UD or split decision.
We have no odds yet, but who do you think sportsbookies will favor on this one?
I think Chocolatito will win on this one, to prove that he still got the power on himself.
He needs to redeem himself as the last fight was a close one and it was given to Estrada by the judges.

I have said that it may end up in a draw but that outcome is very slim if you have a volume puncher and a technical KO puncher in the ring, anything is possible if the is not yet finish, but going in a draw is very very slim, I can say that Chocolatito can win this by TKO/KO or Estrada can win in a unanimous decision but until the fight is not settled we are free to speculate, Right now I think Estrada is on the edge over the odds I will verify this later, but Estrada is gaining popularity from their last fight and if Chocolatito is not hungry enough in getting a win on Estrada, then the same outcome from their last fight will just repeat.

The first fight happened in 2012 and the second was in 2021. More than 8 years apart, that's why I said it was a long time. Luckily, the third fight will happen later this year so we will not be deprived for very long this time.

Ok, so another fight that we all have been waiting for. As confirmed by Eddie Hearn, there will be a third match between these 2 great super flyweights. This year, it was a classic back and forth war, but Estrada edging Chocolatito by split decision. So now it's 1-1. They will have to settle in the upcoming trilogy as to who is the best.

https://www.boxingscene.com/juan-francisco-estrada-vs-roman-chocolatito-gonzalez-trilogy-slated-oct-16-usa--158783

At this point I can't make up my mind, I wanted to see Chocolatito win by Estrada's volume punching can sway the judge in his favour in close rounds.

@bisdak40 - bro, what's you call on this? I know that you are a big fan of Chocolatito, hehehe
it is rare nowadays that trilogy happens in boxing world, maybe they did not get too much attentions from the fans and bettors thats why the fight did not even move to 2nd game.

but these 2 are the best super flyweight of our time now and  even watching them fighting for years now.

But i am looking for Estrada to win , hope finally he will end this trilogy and close the bout to move on for another opponent .

It might be Estrada as a small and slight and early betting favorite.

Yeah, I've been thinking about this fight lately and I've been swayed to believed that Gonzalez is the more hungrier of the two and he wants to avenge his lost because it was very close. The fight though is still like 12 weeks but maybe either boxer have started to do so light trainings already as not to over train but at least get their body going so that it will be prime for this biggest fight of their career in October. Not just the physical preparation but everything should be perfect like diet and then their mind as well.

I believe that they already on their preparation period, watching those replays and start to condition the body of both fighters.

We know that if there's an incoming fights trainers needs to advance all the possible strategy for the fighter to find the right combo
and to make sure that he have the stamina.

Both fighters for sure wanted to end this series, winning this fight with pride and much confidence proving who's really the great between them.

Both men can definitely win and I think it is possible that both are just thinking the same thing, it is to win, this is a very close fight in my opinion, on their first clash Chocolatito won with a Unanimous Decision Chocolatito did punch with volumes so in their 2nd round Chocolatito have shown another great fight again but the judge decision is very controversial here, the score was so close that they think Chocolatito have won their 2nd match, it is a split decision and a close card, well I say Estrada did something to the get judge decision that other don't see but lets all wait on who's going to win on this Trilogy.
Estrada really try to out muscle and put pressure and become aggressive in the second half of the fight that's why the judges see him winning on a very close and controversial decision. But Chocolatito has more power, but Estrada has volume and work rate. So this fight can sway on either direction. It's probably depends on how the judges are going to see the fight. Maybe a draw, which is rare is boxing could happen here.

I Agree! let's just hope it is not a draw, Grin hehe, but yes I can not say who is a better boxer because both of them had a pretty different style than the other, and you are right this will definitely depend on the judge decision, if there are more technical shots or there is a volume of shots a fighter could  throw this will be a decision for the judge watchful eyes on the fight, their decision to make, but if I would choose who do I think going to win, I would surely go with Chocolatito, Roman Gonzalez can sure give more if he can get a devastating punch on Estrada he can have a KO win.

But if by chance it ended up in a draw and you put a bet on it, then surely it wll be a big win for you.

To predict this kind of match will be difficult, both Estrada and Chocolatito has fought two times while Chocolatito won and Estrada also won. I can not bet on this kind of match, but I think if I would have to choose between the two of them who is going to win the third coming match between both of them, I will go for Estrada, but I will not be surprising if the match goes other way but still it will be a good match to watch for pleasure.

Its the usually the person who can make the better adjustments that wins the rematch which I think will be Chocolatito. Estrada is a good fighter but I am not convinced that he can adapt and win this trilogy. They have both proven that they are good fighters but I think Chocolatito just was not performing on the night that he lost. I think this time around it will be a decisive victory and not as close as people are expecting. I might even put money on a knockout win.
