That's the only criticism leveled at Inoue, despite him being a great boxer. I read an article stating that Floyd wants to see Inoue fight in the US. This country offers better opportunities for boxers like him, and he could also find better challengers in a larger market. I suppose he needs to accept that challenge to silence those who believe Inoue's victories are due to his fights being mainly in Japan.

I've also come across rumors about Inoue potentially fighting Tank Davis at a catch weight. I think that could be lucrative for both fighters. However, the question remains, do both of them see this as an opportunity?

Maybe if Inoue wins some big-time knockout like he did against his last opponent in the US will probably raise his status among boxers and eventually, he will be invited to fight in the Middle East as well which we know the amount of the payment is hard to resist at all. As for fighting Tank Davis, it could be the best challenge for both of them since they are now at their prime and to miss this legendary fight would be a total waste because we have never seen such two fighters be able to come across again in both eras. now is the time to fight after they are finished with one fight because that's just how they are right now, easily winning fights and getting those belts easily as well.

He has done it before, so I don't think he needs to have a knockout like he did against Fulton, he beat Nonito by 2 round knockout. He beat Butler to get the last of the belt in the bantamweight division. The current bantamweight IBF champion Emmanuel Rodriguez, he beat him by knockout that he quit while on the canvass. So he doesn't need to have another knockout reel to get his name. It's just a matter of how Bob Arum will promote it, but so far it seems that his Japanese counterpart has control of Inoue's career in my opinion as Arum can't bring Inoue to fight in the US.

Yes, I do agree, Stephen Espinoza said in an interview that it's possible to have Inoue vs Davis fight as it is just 2 weight class (like Charlo moving up to challenge Canelo Alvarez). But we will see, just like Manny does before, maybe Inoue can go up in weight and fight the best.
Whether Inoue's camp would really be taking it slowly or in a rush manner on dominating higher weight divisions and would be able to get those belts on different divisions which it is something that would really be looking
like on what other Boxing champions that dominated different divisions.I do agree about on having that limit or control on which its none of our business if they would really be taking that way. For sure they would really be still aiming on becoming the greatest and they do know on whats good for Inoue. They wont really be jumping in if they cant really be able to win or really just that rushed up. If Inoue would be planning on fighting
outside Japan then it would really be just that good to see and he would definitely be able to face up those boxers who are sitting into those higher divisions and would increase its popularity and ranking also.
For Tapales fight then he shouldnt really be that confident since this person is still a champion or belt holder.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small

Top Rank and Bob Arum should convince his handlers to at least go to US and explore their options there. Maybe there could be more money in the US market for them and they really need to break in the current market. Inoue is amongst the p4p right now, the US audience needs to see him fight live in their soil just like what Manny did during his prime. Asian fighter conquering US and making jump in weight classes.

Just imagine the potential headline: Casimero vs. Inoue – a more significant spectacle than Tapales vs. Inoue, especially considering that the former was relatively unknown before his significant upset win.

Before the bolded text could happen, Casimero should first secure a championship belt and the way to do that is to fight Tapales on either the WBA or IBF belt but that possibility is so slim because those sanctioning bodies have already given the clearance to Tapales to fight for the unification so Casimero vs Inoue would likely to happen after the Tapales fight.

After Tapales' fight? What if Inoue wins and decides to move up in weight? So, there's still a risk that the anticipated fight might not happen. Let's assume the sanctioning bodies have already given clearance for the unification fight, but what about the issue of purse split? What if the camps of Inoue and Tapales cannot agree on the terms?
There are a lot of scenarios here, just like what you pointed out, he could go up in weight, I mean Inoue after "beating" Tapales and doesn't want to fight Casimero as he has nothing to bring into the table.

Or Tapales not fighting Inoue because they can't agree on anything specially the purse split. And then Inoue doesn't move up in weight and still chase some fights in 122 lbs before decided to go to 126 lbs. But everything rest in his hands, he can decide as he is the A-side fighter here. Just offer a decent purse for Tapales and he will be on the way to become a unified champion again.

If he chooses to entertain challengers, then I believe Casimero's chances of getting a fight with Inoue are high. So, I think that's a better path than fighting Tapales, whom I believe he will beat his fellow champion and unify the belts. If he gets all the belts, it will boost his confidence and he will ride the wave of his success. As we usually see, when a fighter becomes a unified or undisputed champion, they often move up and challenge champions in higher divisions. This leaves boxers like Casimero, who are striving for a shot against the monster, in a bad position.

I sure do hope that Naoya Inoue will leave some spot for Casimero in this present division so that they will both share the same stage one day before moving into another weight class and challenge some champions again, not only the people will be glad about that news but it is his chance also to debunk all the speculations floating around them once and for all because that will definitely not vanish itself if people cannot see a fight between him and Casimero.

If that fight will happen, I would surely bet towards Casimero and not Tapales because I believe he can do a good job against Inoue if both of them will be the ones who will face for the unification. Not to underestimate Tapales but I don't really think that he stand a chance against the moster, Naoya Inoue. Might be harsh though but that is the truth and people will be more interested on that instead of the match-up we have now.

This scenario could offer favorable odds, given that Casimero is the challenger. I'm confident that many will place their bets on Casimero, even though Tapales is the one defending his belt. It's quite an intriguing situation, one that might not have arisen if negotiations for a mega fight in the super bantamweight hadn't encountered issues. However, let's view this as a blessing in disguise for Casimero, as he's always desired to face Inoue. He likely realizes that becoming the champion could make arranging that fight with Inoue much easier.

Just imagine the potential headline: Casimero vs. Inoue – a more significant spectacle than Tapales vs. Inoue, especially considering that the former was relatively unknown before his significant upset win.

We'll see how the negotiations between Inoue and Tapales develop. I believe their undisputed fight is still very doable rather than both of them facing other names out there. If it is true that Inoue stays in this division and is not in a hurry to move up again then it might be Tapales that will be forced to accept the offer or he will face his mandatories which might be too risky with lower rewards.

Maybe they can also consider making the fight in the US which is better for Tapales as it is a neutral venue. Maybe Top Rank and ESPN can make better offers than making this fight in Japan again.

I agree with you mate, I would love to see Inoue goes to fight in US if ever him and Tapales will settle for the undisputed belt. No offense to Inoue, but he should be getting out of his comfort zone and not to fight in Japan for once.

Inoue might not think about to move up since he has something important to deal with and its good for him if he get the title to be a unified champion before advancing on another level. Most likely this fight will happen since I don't think Inoue's camp will became more greedy since they also know what will be the result if they ask to much for this fight.

As other's speculation about possible match up between Inoue I think this fight will never gonna happen since first Inoue's management will not risk to a fight which they cannot get anything.

Inoue will be a favorite of course considering that the bout will be made soon and if Casimero can overwhelm Tapales successfully so that he will be the one who will face Inoue for the undisputed fight.

If this fight that we're talking in this discussion will not be made much sooner or before this year ends, hopefully Tapales will welcome Casimero for his first title defense because it's undeniable that people wanted a Casimero vs Inoue fight as it will get more attention from the public.

@harizen. On Tapales, what legacy? We should be honest, he is a good boxer but he has no potential to be something similar to Pacman or Inoue. I speculate that he might also lose if Casimero was given an opportunity to fight him.

Everything is business for Tapales. He knows Inoue wants to create a boxing legacy and he cannot have this if he cannot get the WBA and IBF championships. Inoue should pay the right amount.

Also, if Tapales will decide not to fight Inoue, I wish it would be Casimero and also wish that Casimero would win hehehehhee. Inoue vs. Casimero would be another fight the boxing fans would consider something like a superfight.

The misunderstanding between Tapales and Inoue already favors Casimero, as either boxer could face Casimero as their challenger. So, perhaps Casimero is content with the situation, as it could expedite his chance to be in a championship fight. First, Tapales vs. Casimero, and then Casimero vs. Inoue – that's a promising journey. It would enhance Casimero's reputation if he were to defeat his fellow boxer and dethrone him, given that the scenario were to unfold. I'm quite optimistic that it could occur, provided Inoue ruin the possibility of that unification fight against Tapales.
This is the chance of casimero cause once he beat Tapales in those fight then for sure his goal will come next which is he aim to fight inoue but for now He is the challenger for this time and once he beat the champion his name will come back to the boxing world cause being a new champ is a very good achievement and now only one step ahead for casimero to face the monster so He must not waste this opportunity.

If I were in Tapales' shoes, I would choose to remain a champion and face challengers. Though I would receive a smaller amount of money than what I could potentially earn against Inoue, there's a chance that I would earn consistently. The thing is, if Tapales unifies with Inoue, the likelihood of losing is very high, and he might also lose his popularity eventually, making him unable to get fights anymore.

So it's a big risk. Let's say 'big risk = big rewards,' but he has to consider the other side.

Now depends if what will be Marlon Tapales' priority "for now", legacy or business.

Tapales is been vocal and since becoming a champion, even called out Naoya Inoue to fight him. But with the recent rumor that they might get a small paycheck, which is not reasonable for a champion, will that lead to changing his plan for long and skipping fighting Naoya Inouye for now? Until when? Does ducking Inoue, for now, to somehow increase his purse split will make everything smooth in return?

Anyways, does anyone know how much was being offered to Tapales camp?
I have not heard any number yet but what I can remember is that an organization already set the fight to happen on whoever will win against Naoya Inoue versus Stephen Fulton.
So I don't there's a backing out that will happen unless the organization will see this as an unprofitable fight and cancels it while making Tapales' name bloom for now and defending his belt for like 1 or 2 times. That way, they could enhance the profits that can be made when Tapales becomes popular.

Because I really doubt they will force this one without making money out of it. Inoue does have a great amount of fans but a combination of two popular boxers fans will be a load of money in their pockets.
Maybe Casimero vs Inoue will get more attention than Tapales. They may want to test that and then put Tapales against number 1 or 2.

With that argument, how secure Tapales can defend his title with other challenger that will be matched to him? Though he has that
belts in him, but securing it and defending it will be a tough one for him.
