@harizen. On Tapales, what legacy? We should be honest, he is a good boxer but he has no potential to be something similar to Pacman or Inoue. I speculate that he might also lose if Casimero was given an opportunity to fight him.

Everything is business for Tapales. He knows Inoue wants to create a boxing legacy and he cannot have this if he cannot get the WBA and IBF championships. Inoue should pay the right amount.

Also, if Tapales will decide not to fight Inoue, I wish it would be Casimero and also wish that Casimero would win hehehehhee. Inoue vs. Casimero would be another fight the boxing fans would consider something like a superfight.

No cap! all business down there for Tapales, everyone knows that, he has a little chance of defeating Inoue base on the skill set comparison. After he beat Fulton, it does look like gaining weight was not a problem for Inoue.
Tapales may have a good chance of winning if he can have a significant improvement over the course of his training before the fight night. He needs to improve his speed and timing so he can stand toe to toe against the monster, of course watch a lot of tape regarding Inoue fights as well. That's the best thing Tapales could do while on prep for the fight.
Casimero on the other hand may be a good competition for Inoue, but if this fight is not going to happen, I hope they'd listen to what Mayweather have said that he wants to see Gervonta and Inoue at a catchweight division.
I mean it's not impossible, if that's what people want. Honestly, that's what I also want to see, Inoue fighting outside Japan against a top Elite fighter on his prime. How's that sound?

If I were in Tapales' shoes, I would choose to remain a champion and face challengers. Though I would receive a smaller amount of money than what I could potentially earn against Inoue, there's a chance that I would earn consistently. The thing is, if Tapales unifies with Inoue, the likelihood of losing is very high, and he might also lose his popularity eventually, making him unable to get fights anymore.

So it's a big risk. Let's say 'big risk = big rewards,' but he has to consider the other side.

Now depends if what will be Marlon Tapales' priority "for now", legacy or business.

Tapales is been vocal and since becoming a champion, even called out Naoya Inoue to fight him. But with the recent rumor that they might get a small paycheck, which is not reasonable for a champion, will that lead to changing his plan for long and skipping fighting Naoya Inouye for now? Until when? Does ducking Inoue, for now, to somehow increase his purse split will make everything smooth in return?

Anyways, does anyone know how much was being offered to Tapales camp?

He doesn't have any option if he wanted to earn a decent amount of money, else he will take another alternative
with a lesser price of money but have that decent chance of maintaining his belts.

It will be a decision to make for him and his camp, no update yet regarding to this negotiation.

Yes, it's kind of hard to weigh that because taking Inoue is definitely a big profit on his side regardless of the result but apart from that, he should also consider some factors if he will choose the safe side like even if he will dock Inoue just to retain his status, there will be some point in time that he will have his own match or a fight that will be too much for him to bear. We never know when will that happen but it's up to him to decide whatever he pleases.

I think only Casimero fans are going to say that Inoue is ducking him. Inoue was interested in the fight no doubt about it. And they have scheduled it, this time Casimero will have to defend his WBO belt, but issues after issues and so he lost that chance.

So if you look at it, there's no ducking there, just the circumstances and it's not Inoue fault but Casimero. So it's better for Casimero to just stop the chase for now, let him rank himself in super bantamweight class first and maybe he will get that chance if Inoue will decide to stay at this decision and so some cleanup just like in bantamweight or move up and look for more challenges but it's going to be dangerous for him at 126 lbs.

As far as I remember, the only time I knew that Inoue vs. Casimero had a scheduled fight was before the pandemic. It was canceled because of the ongoing pandemic. However, once everything became clear, Casimero was expecting that they would make the fight happen. Unfortunately, Inoue's camp didn't respond to that.

Casimero had problems with his weight, which led to his belt being stripped. He violated the rules, though. Here's the full story of that.
https://www.ringtv.com/638052-john-riel-casimero-vs-paul-butler-off-due-to-casimeros-violation-of-bbbofc-medical-policy/
Quote
John Riel Casimero is in danger of being stripped of the WBO bantamweight title after violating terms of the British Boxing Board of Control’s medical policy regarding the use of saunas prior to a fight.

The point is, if Inoue was really interested in fighting Casimero, he should have sign the deal right away after the pandemic, but he choose the other direction.

Tapales can play his card here. If he thinks that the amount of share/profits is not worth in taking that risk to a unification fight, he may change that direction and choose other alternative.

Only mandatory can push him to face Inoue. Without a mandatory call, he can always find his way
to pick a challenger and keep his belts.

Inoue's dream of becoming a two-division unified champion is in the hands of Marlon Tapales and by the looks of it he has the leverage of asking a fair amount to fight Inoue for that unification or else fight a non-mandatory fight to derail Inoue's plan a bit.

I think there is no mandatory for Tapales to face Inoue, it's just a promoter's call to make the fight happen and the burden in more on the camp of Inoue.

It's too soon for these sanctioning bodies to make a move about making their fight a mandatory case because they still have to clean up their own backyard as there are boxers who are queued and approaching to get those belts, since both of them are just a new champion in this division.

Anyway, the undisputed fight is still on the horizon for the both camps and just like what you've said, Tapales and his camp are using this as an advantage to ask more since they have the belts in order for Inoue to be a two time undisputed champion. And if Inoue's camp will make a stand like a "leave it or take it" kind of deal, Tapales's camp will be forced to accept it because it's already their biggest paycheck and they cannot afford to lose that either.

As I mentioned from my post above, Tapales can play his card, but if in terms of paycheck I can agree with you about that amount,
if Inoue's camp will give him that condition of "take it or leave it" thing.

He doesn't have any option if he wanted to earn a decent amount of money, else he will take another alternative

@Lanatsa. Pacman is not being a traitor against his own countrymen. In the ambush interview, what Pacman told the interviewer was he wanted to help Inoue and teach him his secrets on how he carried his strength, speed, power and stamina when he has fighting in higher weight divisions. He wants everyone to witness someone greater than him in boxing, I reckon.

I thought Pacman is only willing to help if in case Inoue will move up to other divisions again? Anyways, Pacman once again was caught in another ambush interview during the Crawford-Spence event, the legend mentioned Crawford as the new #1 pound-for-pound fighter in the world replacing Inoue but he also said that Inoue remains his favorite guy. https://www.facebook.com/IFLTV/videos/617315163875941

Meanwhile, according to a local source, Team Tapales is not happy with Naoya Inoue's offers. And just a few days ago, 3 division champion Johnreil Casimero started training again in his town. Casimero looked very heavy at the moment so hopefully, he continues his light training as he might be Inoue's next opponent late this year. It could be that Tapales is not happy with the money presented on the table but it is possible that both sides are bluffing at this early stage of their negotiations. Tapales if he won't face Inoue next might face a mandatory either from the WBA or the IBF. A rematch against former champion Morudjon Akhmadaliev for the WBA mandatory or IBF's mandatory Sam Goodan of Australia might be a high-risk low reward for Tapales should he not come to an agreement with Inoue.

Yes I am quite certain Pacman offered his services if will move up to a heavier weight division again. However, if he was telling the interviewer that he would help in Inoue's training for the fight against Tapales, I would be very skeptical this heheheh. I might put money on Tapales hehhehee.

On Tapales not happy with team Inoue's offer, this is part of negotiations. The team of Tapales knows that Inoue needs the IBF and WBA championships because the Japanese boxer is chasing history.

On Inoue vs. Casimero, if the money is not enough, I reckon Inoue will chase history again and challenge the champions in featherweight.

Negotiations has started with the Tapales group, and as what we have been reading it's not good offer from the inoue team. For sure, if Inoue is chasing greatness, then they should offer good money to Tapales and not disrespect him as a champion.

One Inoue vs Casimero, if Inoue wanted to stay at super bantamweight and if by chance Casimero become somewhat of the mandatory challenger, then for sure Inoue will give up to the pressure of fighting Casimero as this has been one of the most anticipated ever since their bantamweight days.

Hehe I speculate Inoue will make Casimero chase him to featherweight instead of waiting for Casimero unless Inoue cannot say no to the money being offered to him in super bantamweight.

Let us remember that Inoue is chasing his legacy to be the greatest pound for pound boxer in the world. He cannot get this by wasting time in super bantamweight if he unifies the championships. It will be featherweight for him and I wish we witness the great Pacman work with him.

I cannot blame Inoue if he will choose to climb the next weight class again and make another victory run after achieving his goals in this division, even if that means leaving Casimero again because that's not ducking for me as Inoue have his own priorities that needs to come first and Casimero unfortunately, doesn't have anything that will give him any benefit as the latter haven't have anything to offer.

Agreed. However, Casimero might say that it is ducking hehehe. He had his chances to challenge for a championship in bantamweight but he did not make the weight or whatever excuses his team said. His fans should accept that for Naoya Inoue, Casimero is old news. He only consider to fight him if he holds a championship or if he offers his biggest purse.

Or there could be a scenario that if this fight is not going to happen, and so Tapales goes on the plan of rematching Akhmadaliev and lose that one, then it could be Inoue vs Akhmadaliev for the unification.

But if Inoue's team thinks that this is the best and easiest route to make, then they should do it and offer Tapales the money that he deserves because he also has the 2 belts that Inoue wants to complete the unification again, but this time in super bantamweight.

I assumed that he wouldn't waste much time because he was still at his best right now and he won't be doing some high-risk fights with some little awards because right now he is the only boxer that has the highest chance to surpass Manny Pacquiao's record in term of division champs. As for fighting Casimero, as long as he doesn't have anything to offer, he won't get that dream fight and probably just get old and will not be getting the chance to face Inoue at his prime.

There doesn't seem to be a rule mandating that both champions must fight each other, allowing Tapales to continue his journey should Inoue decline his demand. Unfortunately, Inoue's legacy could be on the line if he fails to agree to Tapales' terms. Refusing Tapales' demand might jeopardize Inoue's opportunity to unify the belts. Consequently, after a series of negotiations, Inoue might find himself with no choice but to meet Tapales' demand in order to realize his dream.

As a fan, I personally would prefer to watch a unification fight over a regular championship bout. This implies that once the deal is sealed, the world will be eagerly watching.

It's his privilege to choose whatever route he will going to take. There's no one who can stop him if he takes that path in
pursuing his chase by adding more belts in another division.

It's not ducking in any way, he's the current champ and if opportunity comes on him, grabbing it doesn't mean that he's avoiding anyone
but he's just choosing what he thinks that will continue to bring great achievements with his boxing career.

Inoue and his camp always have that kind of options. It's a token of making up for this far in his career.

It should be right that, there's nothing wrong. The only possibility if Inoue win against Tapales is rematch with Fulton or Tapales or even fight with Akhmadaliev, Casimero is an unknown boxer in super bantamweight and he should accept if he's not a special person.

A rematch with Tapales might be on the horizon depending on the fight's outcome. If it's a close contest, the possibility of a rematch becomes more likely. However, considering a rematch with Fulton seems absurd. The former champ didn't appear to be in his usual form; perhaps he was wary of Inoue's power punches. Unfortunately for him, he was still caught and knocked out in the later rounds.

Hopefully this much awaited fight will happen much sooner mate before Inoue leaves 122 because if that will happen, a fight between them will be impossible to happen.

I think it's possible if Inoue will stay in this division but if Tapales will agree to a unification match and Inoue manages to unify all the belts again,

The chance of seeing him moving to another division is possible and Casimero's chance of facing the monster
might not happen anymore, though we never know what fate for these two fighters, if they will face each
other or destiny really avoiding it to take place.

The likelihood of a Casimero vs Inoue fight happening rests largely on Tapales' decision. If he doesn't agree with the offer, he'll retain his championship and face comparatively easier opponents than Inoue. Meanwhile, as Casimero keeps securing victories, he would gradually rise as the top challenger. Eventually, Inoue would have no choice but to accept the challenge.

I believe this scenario presents a more positive and entertaining outlook.

Tapales can play his card here. If he thinks that the amount of share/profits is not worth in taking that risk to a unification fight, he may change that direction and choose other alternative.

Only mandatory can push him to face Inoue. Without a mandatory call, he can always find his way

Casimero's chance may take place if there's a good hypes for Inoue to accept the challenge, not sure
if how negotiation will take place, but hopefully fate will destine them to meet inside the ring.

@bbc.reporter - Yeah, I do agree that even at 122 lbs and winning all the belts, it will not be enough for him to be one of the best. He needs to go up in weight just like what Manny did during his prime 126 lbs and higher, he might face stiffer opponents. But that's where it will separate him from the rest of his contemporaries. If he could go up in weight and win more belts then maybe the comparison with Manny will start and really make some noise. Specially that Manny has taken notice already, but not sure if Pacquiao is willing to work with him though. Most likely Pacquiao will give him pointers and that's it. I might believed if Inoue is Filipino, but Inoue is not so I guess the comparison stops there.
