This is going to be Paul Butler being put inside a lion's den. Naoya has everything to defeat Butler. Butler, on the other hand, will have to exhaust all possible ways just to survive. But this is boxing. The unthinkable could happen.

Butler should have the most rigid of trainings and preparations for this fight. He couldn't come less than 100% prepared or else he would easily be consumed. This is definitely the biggest fight in his boxing career. He needs to give his all.

But, again, the odds are almost impossible to conquer. At 1.02 for Naoya and 9.80 for Butler, the analysts have already admitted who's gonna go through some beating.

A mismatch? An easy win for Inoue? Not even a big challenge for Inoue? Can't blame some people's view about the match as the distance between Naoya Inoue and Paul Butler is really that wide and long gap. I can't even think of a way how Butler can survive the wrath of Inoue.

No mentioned venue at the moment but it's in Japan. The first time Paul Butler will fight outside the United Kingdom. Almost all advantages are on Inoue.

Wow! This fight took earlier than I expected because I believe at first that this fight will be possible next year and I didn't even know at all that both camps have an ongoing discussion to make this fight happen as I'm so focused on waiting for Spence-Crawford undisputed fight.

It's really safe to say that this fight is really a mismatch and will be a walk in the park for Inoue because Butler has no tools in his belt that could potentially defeat the Japanese boxer, therefore, the latter cannot really avoid getting a defeat in this fight. Well, the only good thing on Butler's side is that this fight might be his biggest paycheck in his career as he possesses the last remaining belt in the bantamweight division.

Perhaps it was on the radar of Inoue already, that if he ever won against Donaire he will look for a unifying and undisputed belt that Bulter hold. And Paul can't refuse it, a good opportunity to put his name for the best bantamweight.

However, the Monster is really hard to beat as it seems there are no flaws, offense and defense. The hardest puncher in this division so far, and then he has a high boxing IQ and then a good chin that no one has broken. He time Donaire cleanly in 2 rounds, so Butler will be happy if he can manage to go at least 5 rounds or more with Inoue before he too gets knock out.

Butlers camp wont really be that dumb on not to make out some preparation for this fight and its true that this fight might be the biggest on his paycheck plus it would really boost up popularity if he would take down "The monster" which had been still undefeated up to this date.Yes, this was a little bit unexpected that it had been pushed within this year. There are no doubts on who would be the bookie's favorite on this one which is Inoue. We cant really assure though and Inoue shouldnt really be that too confident but i do agree that this might be looking like a walk in the park fight.  Cheesy

Inoue will simple take this Belt for sure , Butler may have skills but not enough for this Japanese boxer that had already Shown his power over best asian fighter in the past , so  I believe that Butler is not the one who will beat Inoue but who truly knows?
boxer can make their opponent Down with lucky single punch.
Yeah, let's not jump to conclusions just yet. I agree that Inoue proved a lot by winning most of his fights by KO. But you will never know what could happen with just one mere second of a mistake. The thing with undefeated fighters are they will always be the aggressor and there's the opportunity for Butler to hand him a counter.
He will be patient and will try to win by score, as most of his recent fights are won that way but I doubt Inoue will.

If it's happen, I think it's the biggest upset in boxing history because no one believe Butler is capable to fight Inoue. I would say it's a fixed match too because they might want to win on casino and earn a huge profit.

Yes it's going to be, the two biggest upsets we have are the Tyson - Douglas and the Ruiz - Joshua matches but this will be eclipse if Butler can pull off an upset but upsets happen out of carelessness, both Tyson and Douglas became careless that is why they both suffers from unexpected upsets but Inoue is well discipline and he is very dedicated and trains hard, it will be unlikely but it's still possible.

but of course Butler will always keep chance with strong and heavy  punches  Grin

Butler still have 4 months for preparation , Maybe he will do everything in training to improve his capacity in facing greatest fighter of his time in His division .

yet nit until the fight is over , Butler will always chance to win

Hopefully this will be at least an entertaining fight, we all expect that it's just going to be a one-sided fight since we know how good and strong Inoue is, but this is an undisputed bout, it should be entertaining to watch. My prediction, Inoue by KO.
No doubt about Inoue's prowess, but I see a win by points, not KO!
It's a very interesting match to look forward to and with the home advantage of course. Butler is going to have to prepare his body for the dose of punches he will absorb.

Spot on mate, current odds are:

Inoue, Naoya - 1.02
Butler, Paul - 9.80
Lol previously I predict Inoue odds would be 1.01x but I miss 0.01 only Cheesy

Fair odds for Naoya, but I think he can beat Butler at the early round despite of the defense tactics of Butler.
This is indeed an undermatch between Inoue and Butler, we already know who will win on this one and since Inoue already talks about his future match with the other boxer, it looks like he is not taking this seriously. Butler should not show any fear against Inoue, he can have a good chance here as well for a knockout, let's see if he can surprise the world of boxing still have time to prepare.
I still not see Butler is actually a champion because he should fight against Casimero, but get replaced with Jonas Sultan, he should prove his power to Casimero first but it seems he has no choice and must accept to fight Inoue.

If it's happen, I think it's the biggest upset in boxing history because no one believe Butler is capable to fight Inoue. I would say it's a fixed match too because they might want to win on casino and earn a huge profit.

No underrating, no underestimating because it's true that one single lucky punch, it can upset the match.

Paul Butler's lucky punch will save his ass? He even has the strength to do it even if he is able to connect that lucky punch?

Naoya Inoue is already used to withstanding big punches. Remember how he came back strong during their 1st fight with Donaire after a serious threat for him in the early round? He adjusted patiently until getting the momentum.

Paul Butler doesn't have the skills to put Inoue on a verge of defeat.

Inoue's success in the ring is because he imposes himself in the early minutes of the match he show his speed and power and does not have an arrogant attitude in the ring even if he faces a weak opponent he is not the kind to underestimate his opponents, we are putting Butler in a bad position but Inoue will still treat him as a guy he needs to fight and not underestimate him, we can expect Inoue to dominate but still never underestimate the power of upsets these two boxers are training to hurt each other, so expect them to punch with bad intention.

I think Butler has the pride here so he might go toe to toe with Inoue and see how he is going to hold against the power of Inoue. If he can stay then definitely it will be a entertaining fight. But if the power is too much for him, then Inoue by KO.

Not sure if an upset is going to happen, Butler is good but is it enough to take away Inoue's advantage? like the speed and a better chin and of course Inoue's power? don't think so. Inoue is the champion in bantam and the rest is chasing him because he is above them. We just have to look at the odds and see how bookmarkers never even give a chance for Butler with the almost 10:1 odds.

Inoue, Naoya - 1.02
Butler, Paul - 9.80

We don't have the under and over rounds, but yeah it could be +/- 7.5, I reckon.

I speculate that it might be earlier than 10th or 11th round, less than that. Butler might survived the earlier rounds, but for sure he will be soften up later and then Naoya will go for the knockout round 6th to round 9th.

Agreed. The odds for this fight might be 1.05 for Naoya Inoue and 8.50 to 9.00 for Paul Butler. The ending will also certainly be another knockout for Inoue. Where the oddsmakers might place the over or the under might be on 7.5 rounds and they might favor the under, I reckon. However, Paul Butler was knocked out only once and it was 7 years ago. I speculate that Inoue will knock Butler on the 10th or 11th round.

I'm talking in general. It could be applied to him or to Naoya or to anybody.

But we do all agree that all the advantage is with Naoya. Despite its good records of Butler, we all know how strong the monster is. He won't be called the monster for anything.

Needless to say, the crowd is speaking for Naoya and this is going to be his match.

Quote
Naoya Inoue and Paul Butler have agreed to terms on an undisputed bantamweight championship fight Dec. 13 in Japan, sources told ESPN.

Inoue, a star boxer in Japan who is ESPN's No. 2 pound-for-pound boxer, will attempt to unify all four belts for the first time in his career (he holds the WBA, WBC and IBF titles.) The winner of the matchup -- Inoue will be heavily favored -- will be the first undisputed champion at 118 pounds in nearly 50 years.

The last goal for Japan's "The Monster" in the Bantamweight Division, to unify all four belts here.

A mismatch? An easy win for Inoue? Not even a big challenge for Inoue? Can't blame some people's view about the match as the distance between Naoya Inoue and Paul Butler is really that wide and long gap. I can't even think of a way how Butler can survive the wrath of Inoue.

In this upcoming match, obviously, the crowd's favorite would be Inoue because of his power and strength inside the boxing ring. In their last match, Butler was really not in par with Inoue's skills and performance, resulting of him losing the title. Although we can't really be complacent as well because tables might turn in their upcoming game this December. Surely, Butler is training harder now to ensure that he is more capable of defeating Inoue. After all, there are four belts on the line in this match. We don't also want to underestimate Butler's capability because he has potential and definitely won't give the belts away easily for the second time around.

Hopefully, they will give us an interesting and thrilling performance so that the audience most especially their fans won't be disappointed and instead be satisfied. So, let's just see what would the outcome be. According to the interview of Inoue, he's already looking forward to fighting Fulton after his fight with Butler. Basing from this, we can conclude that he is confident to look forward for another opponent's fight. But let's just wait and see. I'm rooting for Inoue, but I'm also looking forward to Butler's performance.

Inoue will have an easy fight I guess here, no questions asked. The venue in Japan was unlikely to have when in fact that it will be historical for Inoue to get the fourth belt in his career. I think betting against the odds here isn't a choice but we may never know, as per the sentiment, this really points to Inoue's win.

It's really a mismatch and would be a big challenge for Paul Butler. He should be preparing a lot if he wants to knock out Naoya but it will be hard for sure. I hope the remaining months would be enough for him to have full-time training because Inoue has an advantage when it comes to strength and stamina.
though it is truly a mismatch yet we cannot tell what happened until the blow happens , there are months of preparations till for butler to improve his skills and power over this Monster from japan in which dominating this division now, and hope that he would beat the machine to take the belt from Inoue.
Maybe this is a sure win for Inoue but we never knew till it happens.

That's a given but with preparation even a talent can be beaten. The odds is favoring to the Japanese fighter and it would be a sheer luck if Butler wins this one and delay that belt unto Inoue's hands. Still has months of preparation though so it's up to him to maximize that time.
