It is obvious that the referee favors Akaho. The referee declared an illegal shot and halt the fight when he saw that Akaho is hurt and is in trouble, even gave Akaho time to rest and eventually consult the officiating body, and declared the fight as no contest.  While if we look earlier of that round,  the referee called a knockdown on Casimero when it is clear that the punch landed at the back of the head.  The referee doesn't call the punch illegal, don't give Casimero a rest, and even called it a knockdown.  If we think of it, that pretty much tell where the referee sided.

The stoppage I think is great probably saved Akaho from possible severe injury.  Life is way more than any entertainment in sport but the decision of no contest is plain robbery.  Since the controversial non-contest result is  being reviewed by the higher ups, I hope they change the decision in favor of Casimero.

Just sad to see Casimero given this verdict because he had prepared for this fight for months and put all his efforts to get his name through the ranks in the super bantamweight. All those efforts and time just to fight a selfish boxer who haven't had the face to admit that he lost the fight because Casimero is too good for him. I bet he is now heavily criticized in Japan because of the move he made.

A fan who had a good point on their recent fight, we all have the same view about what happened and I'd say that Casimero was really robbed of his win just because Ryo Akaho's unprofessionalism. A warning is the correct verdict at first because if we look closely, it wasn't a direct hit nor did Casimero intentionally did that and the referee should thought about it well before he declared the fight as a "no contest".

it was visible that tyson fury dominated the fight from the beginning of the fight until the end of the fight, he was breaking Chisora, in the seventh round it was visible that chisora's right eye was closing and his mouth was cut but despite the warning from the referee chisora didn't give up and was stubborn to continue the fight, but with nine seconds of the tenth round the referee ended the fight that looked more like a massacre against chisora, now we'll see if the champion will face Oleksandr Usyk

They should because they will lose their credibility if they will always be criticized by the fans. The world is watching, and some of the fans are already educated about the rules of boxing, so they cannot escape from us if they will try to rig the fight. About this specific fight, Casimero might have hit Akaho on the back of the head but they should have given him a warning and will not allow Akaho to take the drama, but since I'm just a fan, I would just share my thoughts.

Casimero, as we know him, he always put his all in each fight that he will be engaged. We all see how the fight goes and that decision from the ref and officials. We might not have that early conclusion, but with how social media works now, the chance that the decision might be changed is really possible.

If the pressures from the fans will continue and with the power of social media, the organization may step forward and review the outcome. For now, Casimero needs to wait for his camp to negotiate and find another fight.

With his performance, he's comfortable and his winning chance from this new division is high.

I don't even know what to say after watching the replay. He was given the full length to rest and yet he says he cannot fight anymore. While on the other hand, it should be Casimero who should be saying that.
Boxing management should take a closer look at this event.
Anyway, this is another disappointment for him. He had not been in a match for so long and now it ended in a no-contest fight.
How much time will it take again before he can get into another fight? I bet it will be long and clocks ticking for him as he is not getting any younger.

I agree! Why prolonged the fight if he can manage to knock out Chisora early, many are in disbelief that the referee has stopped the fight early but after seeing the whole footage and the backstage when Tyson confronts Chisora for a burger you can see the damage on Chisora's face it was swollen and you can see from that damage on Chisora's face that the referee was right all along that he halted the fight, Derek Chisora also had said that he can not enjoy the burger because his jaw hurts, and surely maybe Tyson Fury was really just chilling and pretty much just controlling the power of his punches,



It was really good news that the official is taking a review on changing the result of the fight and it was clear that it was a win for John Riel Casimero, it was a bad decision for the referee to make bad calls like that and now he is on hot water because of this fight and Ryo Akaho is getting some Criticism on the Japanese community as well that he was not the one that wins and he acted his way to victory, and team Casimero was right that they should review the footage, and many staff on the event has shown pictures and videos on their shot that it was just a scratch on Akaho's back of the head, and that is why I am furious because on how he acted his way out, many have seen Ryo Akaho's interviews that was posted on an article in japan that Akaho doesn't know if he was sitting of standing anymore, his mind was blank on what he was feeling, that means he was really hurt not because of the punch on the back of the head, but because his jaw really was hurt, this is proven many that have seen the fight and the good news is there is a huge chance that the officials will be in favor for Casimero

well, the technology doesn't lie. they can always review the recordings at all angles and see if Akaho was indeed telling the truth of being hurt or who's fault it was. this is the advantage of recordings, they can enlarge that angle and see what really happened. they should at least be fair on validating the results of this fight. we are seeing that casimero is now serious in going up with the weight division. so  let's see if there will be new updates in the coming days. or they will just be mum about the decision.

I surely agree although Lomachenko's style is unpredictable Devin Haney has proven that his undefeated record is not for show, and this fight will surely become history or a start of a rivalry, and the fight Devin Haney VS Vasiliy Lomachenko will be announced soon, I will surely wait for this fight and this fight will be fighting that many fans are really anticipating to see,


I have seen the fight and pretty much it is much controversial because of the way Ryo Akaho's late actions like he was hurt in the back of the head seem the key for Casimero in getting the win, it is a comeback fight that many of his fans were really waiting for, I really think that they have a huge chance to win when the fight was reviewed by the boxing officials, that it was not Casimero that have punched the back of the head of Akaho, but it was Akaho who did and the wrong call of the referee that it was a knockdown to Casimero was also a misjudgment of the referee, many are furious and booing on the crowd will also been heard outside the ring,

As all of us expected, Tyson Fury won while toying Chisora.  Tyson Fury is brutal, he can end the fight early to spare Chisora of more beatings, but instead he prolonged the suffering of Chisora to 10th round.  I don't think it is for the audience as other observant stated.

Haha, it is indeed disappointing but the fight somehow sent a message that Casimero is serious on taking the belt in this division.  I give credit to Casimero for showing us that he still has that power to make his opponent give up and to Akaho for best actor.

But the event that I am most furious about was the Casimero vs. Akaho in South Korea the fight ended in a No Contest it was due to the punch on the back of the head of Akaho, but the real punch on the back of the head was when Akaho landed it to Casimero that make John Riel Casimero get down to the ground, and this makes Casimero really furious so he gives a combination of punches to Akaho and that punch that was on the back of the head, it was just a scratch on Akaho but when the Referee makes a warning about it then Ryo Akaho just complains that the back of his head hurts it was a late reaction for Akaho just to be safe from Casimero's barrage of punches,

And because of that, I have had an acting award for Ryo Akaho who surely escape a loss to Casimero because of his acting skills, The Filipino Community is really furious with the decision and with Ryo Akaho's acting Pretty much I was really frustrated and I am still mad about the result,

This is another fight, in another level because they are both great fighters and you are right, Loma might be a slight underdog here but he has a decent chance of beating an undated Haney. Loma's style is very unpredictable, his being precise will give him the win, so Haney should be careful with his style as Loma is very good in reading styles and making the right adjustment.

Just a preview for me that Loma is back his performance is not that much impacting but giving him enough time to prepare, he can excel as he knows how to adjust very well with any types of opponents that he may have, it's just unusual to most fans who expect to see more from Loma after that long absence inside the ring.

The fight against Haney might be different since there's a belt than in stake and Loma will try his best to earn the title and upset Haney.

I know that there are several factors that might explain Lomachenko's performance against Ortiz last October but we are not really that certain to pinpoint which factor that will explain his recent fight. I'm positive that ring rust might not be a factor because his inactivity is not that long because he just got a fight last December 2021 and then started preparing for his fight versus Ortiz mid August, although, there might be but not likely. I reckon it's his age because he is not that agile enough to give Ortiz some struggles, it's the experience that helped him get through the fight and had a victory.

I haven't seen the numbers on Top Rank, maybe they didn't bid at all on this fight?

Maybe TR just wanted to stay away from this fight, or maybe bid less than a mil because this is very hard fight to sell to the fans. So again, let's see what the numbers will look like in this fight once released. If MarvNation make money with that huge bid or not, as boxing is business.

It is really good to see a real fight than the exhibition one because there is a connotation attached whenever we heard an exhibition game as being scripted.


I agree, since we see a good recovery since the pandemic we might see more interesting fights, just look at the fight schedule this Dec.  There are lots of good matches about to happen.


I'd rather see an exhibition than a cherry-picked fight.  At least in exhibition we know that the fight isn't that serious but watching cherry picked fight is an insult to those boxers who is supposed to be qualified on that match but was avoided.

I do agree that Taylor's left over will fight against each other because of the 3 belts that he has vacated. Or maybe he has plans to move to 147 lbs as well in the future, so 140 lbs is very much open and competitive if that happen.

And as we can see, Prograis has gotten a belt already, but Taylor beat him easily.

For MarvNation, although Prograis get the money already, this could be a lesson for them to put the money in the bank after the fight before the boxer try to cash in that paycheck. And it's good the Regis has clear the issues as well so that MarvNation's name is also being cleared.
