The truth is that if I would like to see a rematch of these two, Bivol should accept the rematch,

Dmitry Bivol is always ready and prepared for a rematch but Canelo's advisors or even boxing analyst says that it's not a good idea to have a rematch with Bivol. We can't even see Canelo having a talk about this then it means he might understand the risks once he goes against Bivol again. I'm with the idea that Canelo's next match won't be either a rematch with Bivol or a trilogy with Canelo.

The way Canelo performed against Bivol, the result will just be repeated. We didn't see the fierce Canelo in that match because Bivol did a great job destroying the rhythm of Canelo. With that Bivol's strategy, Canelo become disappointed and didn't able to focus seriously on the fight. GGG might not be interested anymore with Canelo and will pick another good match before retiring.

There's an article I read yesterday that Canelo Alvarez shouldn't request or plan to go rematch with Dmitry Bivol.

One of the reasons is, that Bivol might put him again in another losing scenario.

What's your opinion here guys? What do you want to expect next for Canelo Alvarez?

a) A rematch against Dmitry Bivol
b) A trilogy with GGG (low chances for now because of Canelo's recent loss)

Both are projected to happen in September this year.
The truth is that if I would like to see a rematch of these two, Bivol should accept the rematch, with that if he wins he becomes much more entrenched in his position of being far superior to him, on the other hand the Canelo and GGG thing no longer makes sense to me , because in everyone's mind is the loss of him against Bivol, rather the ideal fight would be Bivol vs GGG, and I think it would be much more exciting because at one point there would have to be a great fight, GGG for his part would have to win everything that comes from now on so that everything happens in a more emotional environment, the fight would be a success for the boxing industry, obviously a lot of money would be moved.

There was going to be a fight between Floyd Mayweather and Don Moore. That was going to be an exhibition fight in UAE, but it was cancelled due to Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan passed away.

There were reports that the fight might push through this weekend:

Quote
Floyd Mayweather will proceed with his Dubai adventure.

Confusion as to when Mayweather’s previously postponed rematch with ‘Dangerous’ Don Moore will resurface appears to have been resolved, with the show back in play for this Saturday in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The event takes place one week after the planned May 14 show was forced to shut down due to the sudden passing of UAE president Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who died at the age of 73 last Friday.

Anyhow, this is obvious money grab for Floyd as he chooses a no name opponent and then fighting in a rich nation like UAE. Perhaps there's some rich Arab behind this fight and more money is being offered to Floyd that's why he chooses to have this kind of exhibition fights.

For Charlo vs Castano, what a ending, Charlo proving himself in this fight. And Castano's reaction to the left hook was delayed, but obviously it had some power behind because after that his legs is gone and Charlo finishes him for good with that left hook again, body shot for the 2nd knock down.

On that first knockdown, it was obvious that the fight was over because as what you have said, Castano's legs were gone, and yet the referee let the latter continue to fight, only to be punished more  Sad.

I was fortunate on not betting on this fight because I could have chosen Castano because I felt that this guy has the tools to beat Charlo but it seems that Charlo got the better of him tonight.

I didn't pull the trigger as well in this fight, hehehe. Hard to decide because of the result of the first fight. Nevertheless, I was on the Charlo's bandwagon for years now (I'm sure you know that,  Wink) so probably I will go with Jermell here.

But let's see what his next move as @inthelongrun said, he still has a lot of challengers in the horizon, lots of option for him as he become the undisputed.

Does any one knows what is the story behind this two? Their fight wasnt promoted as usually, Moore havent boxed for years. It was just a an entertainment fight that sheikhs paid for? And Floyd and Moore were just entertainment puppets?
Really? I haven't even heard about this upcoming exhibition fight between Floyd Mayweather vs Don Moore if you didn't mentioned about it.
I did some research regarding about this fight and it shows that this fight have been published for about 4 to 5 week ago and honestly, I didn't know that there would be this kind of fight especially when Floyd Mayweather's name is tagged.

We cannot really confirm that speculation but since this fight wasn't promoted so much just like what you've said, we could somehow say that this fight is one of Sheikh's last wishes and there's nothing wrong to be called as an entertainment puppets if the one who is paying you is the President of UAE. Anyway, I've read that Global Titans which is a promoter of this fight said that a new date will be announce “very soon”.

I see the whole fight because im Argentinian, lets me explain one thing.

For me clearly in this fight Charlo wins, because he punch better, but we have one thing we cant understimated , Castaño has to push all the round to the limit because in the previous fight he was stealed the win  in the cards.

For all of those who dont remeber in the first fight Castaño have win and look at the MEGA STEAL.

- one judge Castaño win 115-114
- one judge put a draw
- and the final judge puts Charlo 118-110 win. A clearly fault of respect.

And the two first judge was clearly stealed Castaño also because he wins for a clearly margin.

In this fight nothing to say Charlo management excelent the fight an d have the luck to connect a K.O.

Who watched Evander Holyfield's son Evan? The former unbeaten son of a legend was brutally stopped in the second round after getting hit in the jaw. Currently his record stands now at 9-1-6.

I watched that fight and it was a brutal knockout, if a boxer falls facedown on the canvass there's no way he can get back on his feet in time, Evan Holyfield is a heavy favorite because he is fighting an unknown fighter with a lot of losses but unfortunately this guy has heavy hands, he delivers that jab with a snap, and it was a well-timed right straight.
I just hope Evan is ok and he can go back again he is still a very promising boxer he just needs to improve his defense.

It was good fight as both fighters are willing to give everything for a toe to toe fight, it's just that, Charlo is way more faster and stronger so he won the fight. I like this kind of fight because it's very entertaining, it's just sad that I was not able to put my bet on this fight, I would have bet on Charlo to win by KO.

Now that Jermell Charlo is undisputed. He will be facing a lot of mandatories soon. The WBC's mandatory is another undefeated, the young towering inferno, Sebastian Fundora. The WBO's mandatory is also another young undefeated and son of a legend Tim Tszyu. There's also the WBO welterweight champion Terrence Crawford who can exercise his right as junior-middleweight's WBO's number 1 ranked should he wanted too. And Crawford already said he wanted those belts. I think Crawford is the biggest money for Jermell. But it is surprising that Jermell is not interested in a Crawford fight. Should Crawford beat Jermell, he will be the first ever 2 division undisputed champion in this 4-belt era.

It appears that I should have been braver on my bet hehehe. I knew there was a good chance that Charlo would knockout Castaño, however, I was not sure about their first fight if it was only Charlo underestimating Castaño or if Castaño is really a very good boxer. Charlo winning with a knockout would have won more money.

Same here, I wanted to bet on Charlo winning by KO. But I was not brave enough and chooses other sports to bet and then losses it. Perhaps Charlo didn't think that the Argentinian will be a problem in the first fight. So I would say that it's probably that he underestimated him and maybe he didn't train that hard in the first fight. But now, his real power is shown with that devastating short but crisp left hook right on the temple of Castano for the win. Tim Tszyu might be up next for Charlo.

The only background is that Moore and Floyd used to be sparring partners, and Moore is undefeated but hasn't fought in years.

Anyone on the Castano vs Charlo rematch?

Odds are, ML:

Charlo 1.50
Castano 2.55

That's a great odd for the underdog and he seems to be hell bent on avenging his close and controversial lost to Castano (split draw).

Yes, the first fight is very close and it can go either way. But I think in the rematch, Charlo who is the more athletic one, will make the right adjustments in the rematch and could win by late stoppage in my book.

No doubt that Castano is good, but maybe he just caught Charlo at the bad moment and almost beat him. But not this time though, Charlo is going to show that this fight is not going to be close like the first fight and it might no go to the judges scorecard.

Good call, the fight is over now, Charlo delivered one of his best performance, knocking down Castano twice in the 10th round to become the undisputed 154 lbs champion.

It was really very close fight though, Charlo might have a slight advantage going into the 10th and this is a fight of the year candidate.
Have watched the whole fight and they really are matched and its hard to know which will be the winner on that fight until the start of the 2nd half of the fight.
It was tie on the first half of the fight but at the start of the 7th round, you can feel that Castano is feeling fatigue already and Charlo took advantage of it by throwing jabs and counter punch. It was the 10th round where just a left hook that's defended a bit made Castano knocked down. I know from that already that he is tired at that moment and its good that the referee stopped it on his 2nd knockdown.

Congrats to Charlo, the 7th boxer to unify the belts.

Also, did everyone see Boots Ennis knockout his opponent in the 2nd round? I predict him to be a real challenge for the kings of welterweight, Errol Spence and Terence Crawford on 2023. His next fight should be vs. Keith Thurman to build his name.

Tank admitted that he has broken his hands against Isaac so he fought him literally with one hand and still win. Gamboa is already wash fighter, so I don't consider it a great performance by Cruz. More likely it was a setup for Isaac to look great and now it paid off because he will have a chance to fight Ryan Garcia.

It's just shows that Gervonta Davis is indeed too much for Pitbull because he was literally fighting with one hand power but still lost to him, but I somehow know Davis confirmed that Pitbull got quite a hard head so that will be a challenge for Garcia as a knockout specialist if he can knockout Pitbull (correct me if I'm wrong though). If Garcia can pull a knockout victory here if incase this fight will happen then I think Garcia can somehow go for a match with Davis.

Right, but it just dawn on me that Ryan Garcia has a history of broken hands as well. So Isaac Cruz head my posed a problem for him as well. But probably if Ryan can land it perfectly, he might not suffered this injury and could score a knock out.

He has been eyeing Tank before his 'sabbatical' due to mental issues. IF he ever win against Cruz, maybe he will call Tank again but this time it could be in 140 lbs.

Unfortunately, the match will not push through anymore Sean Gibbons Isaac Cruz's manager decline for his ward to fight Ryan

Quote
Pitbull Cruz’s promoter Sean Gibbons says they already had plans to fight in August, and they have the possibility of a rematch with WBA ‘regular’ lightweight champion Gervonta ‘Tank’ Davis or fight with Rolando ‘Rolly’ Romero if he comes out victorious in his next contender.

Gibbons is still interested in matching a fight between Pitbull Cruz and Ryan Garcia at some point in the near future, but not now.

Ryan is disappointed that he cannot fight Isaac Cruz, his manager had a better plan, obviously, big money is involved here Gibbons knows that the fight between Tank and Cruz will be shown on Showtime PPV compared to if he is going to fight Ryan Cruz, so the potential match will have to take a backseat because Issac Cruz's handlers wants more money for his ward.

Ok thanks for the update, so they are not interested in Ryan, hmm, but it seems that Sean had plans already to wait for the winner of Tank vs Romero. Doesn't make sense though because Tank has beaten him already and the chance of Romero winning is slim.

Anyhow, for Ryan, not sure if he can still make the 135 lbs limit. I mean in his last fight against Tagoe it is at a catch weight of 138 lbs. So the kid is growing and probably will have to move to 140 lbs sooner than later.
