Yes, before having any additional fights this year, Ryan and his team should clear up the problems with GBP first because I'm quite sure that GBP will not let Ryan Garcia have his way easily without him having the demands. Anyway, I also doubt that Ryan Garcia's camp is inclined to have another fight this year because they surely know that they need a lot more preparations before he can be ready for a next fight.
I do agree, coming from that big loss to Tank Davis is not easy to recover. Maybe they can cherry-pick first an opponent so at least the confidence of Ryan Garcia will come back but there is an article saying that he will be fighting Romero next which I think is not an easy one because even though Romero lost to Davis but against Garcia, he could put a fight and might pose a problem for the young Garcia which might affect his career as successive loss is not good, but I think they will plan these things properly so as to not jeopardize Garcia's career.
They need to plan this before taking that big risk, though if by chance Garcia upset Romero bringing his name back on top will take place, but likewise, if the other outcome takes place, it will jeopardize Garcia's future from this sport, having a back to back loss is not a good branding for his name, considering that there are many other aspirant and competitive fighters in this division.
We will hear updates for sure if what will be the next journey for Garcia, my take is they will give him a cherry-pick fight to ensure that his confidence will be back, and he will gain that mental preparation once he needs to fight another competitive fighter.
