The fight will definitely happen, it will not be canceled due to Casimero's problem again as that would be crucial to his career, imagine getting stripped with a belt of not even fighter over it, so expect that we will witness a great fight on the date of the fight which I guess was already announced.

Of course it will! Casimero wouldn't want to miss this chance for the 2nd time because if indeed he will miss this again then I think that his career is already over. So, I bet there wouldn't be any hindrances again this time for sure and the fight will definitely happen in the exact scheduled date.

Yeah mate, I'm really looking forward to see what Butler and Casimero can give, I will really expect a great close match!

well, the mandatory fight was supposed to happen last year. but then, there was a complication with Casimero's health resulting in him not being able to show up at the weigh-in which also resulted in the fight being postponed. so the thread being created last year is understandable.

True, as champion he gets the lion share but it was not that big because of the weight class.

Nevertheless it's time for Casimero to show case his skills again, he is on a momentum run and majority of us doubt that Butler can upset him even if the fight is going to be held in his home town.

So this is just a stepping stone kinda fight for Casimero, the bigger fish is still Inoue and then Donaire.

Actually if we will going to look at the side of the paycheck we can say that it's quite a low cut for Casimero but for me as a fan I would say that he must not just focus on it because if he could win this fight this may help him boost it's career and probably give him a way to have a possibility to fight with Inoue which I bet this man Casimero is really looking up to. This is definitely a stepping stone for him to catch the attention of the team of the big fish fighters like Inoue.
Bigger things are waiting for Casimero if he wins on this fight so better to focus on that than to price reward on his match with Butler. This may not be an easy fight for Casimero and a lot of pressure to him since he puts too much trash talk before I still believe on this guy, I know he can bring more price to Filipinos and finally have a good revenge against Inoue, that's what I'm looking forward with Casimero.  Smiley

If it were up to me, Casimero does have an 80% chance that he could win this fight. And may even upset Inoue if given the chance but I think Casimero will be honored to fight Inoue already even if he loses. It doesn't really look as if Inoue can knock Casimero if you take a look at them physically but we have seen Inoue made fighters kneel by just one liver blow.

The fight is still a month later but this thread have been up last year.  Cheesy

It's because the fight has been postponed or shall I shall move back because of Casimero's condition. He didn't show up in the weigh in because of some medical condition in his stomach.

If not for that then this fight is over, this thread is close and we may have witnesssed another knock out from Casimero. But for now, we will have to wait, the fight is reschedule for April so please bear with all the fans waiting for this fight and for sure this thread will continue.  Smiley

We all know that Casimero is so determined to fight Butler and defeat him even if it's the backyard of his opponent, I don't think he's worried about that and I know his team were already looking at that point where situations are heated or escalated if incase the crowd and fas doesn't go with the result well. Aside from that, he knows what to do and defeating Butler is his ticket to fight Inoue soon.
Its an advantage for Butler to fight Casimero on his home country because of the crowd that can cheer him up to defeat Casimero. But we know its not a hindrance for the latter to lose his confidence since he is also aiming for a next big fight against Inoue (which many fans anticipate) so certainly he is motivated.

On the other side we cant underestimate Butler as a mandatory, this is a chance for him to level up thus a reason for him to show his edge over Casimero. Hence its a must watch fight because both of them are confident to win. So I hope there's no problem occur that might stop the fight of Casimero once again.

The fight should be ended up now if Casimero is in good condition during their weigh-in that result in the cancellation of the fight.

We should now see already the result of this fight. The scenario might we are seeing right now is either; Casimero facing Inoue or to our surprise, Paul Butler will take a fight against Inoue or Donaire as he's now part of the discussion for being a champion.

this discussion has been extended because of the cancellation of the fight owed to casimero's health. so yeah, we've been discussing this for long time now. lol so this fight needs to happen or else, his fans will not be very happy anymore.
the much anticipated fight with Inoue has also shelved for the moment because we are waiting for this fight. now, let's see what odds will they give here.

I don't think that would happen, if Casimero is fully healthy, he can dominate Butler in a fight and could probably knock him out. Butler IMO is not anymore on the level of the champions in the bantamweight division, he may be is a mandatory challenger because he also has a good record, but he has to improve in order ot have a bigger chance of beating the streaking Casimero.

Yes, it's all been set and that's final since there's no other news about the rescheduling. I've just said about the fans thing in the new venue because there were some comments that tells how the fans are there.
But needless to say, it's all set and we just have to wait until that day comes and let's just all hope for the best not only for the match but also for the live crowd to enjoy it.
It is scheduled in April, so there you go, we have a date already. As for the crowd, I guess it's just normal for any boxers to be booed or fight in a environment wherein the fans are against them. Nevertheless, Casimero have seen worst, Lol. And not just him but there are a lot of Filipino boxers as well who love to fight their opponents on their own turf. I'm sure everyone is exciting already for this fight and to see Casimero again in the ring.
Exactly, there goes the set for the fight. As what I've read about the crowd, it's not just about being booed or cheering down the away fighter.
Yeah, I've forgotten that Casimero has been into this whole thing for his life and it won't matter to him anymore if there goes the fans that would subject him after the fight.
Right, regardless of the venue, Casimero has one thing in mind, to keep his title so that he will keep his hopes of good paycheck against the monster in the future. So still needs to train and focus first against Butler, and not to take into account the crowd itself. And knowing Filipinos, maybe there could be a minority crowd in UK to watch him fight, although it will be a big risk for them because they will be out numbered by the UK crowd and there could also be some heated arguments outside after the fight specially if John Riel win in a spectacular knock out.

He can proceed to his goal after he will beat his mandatory challenger, but for now, he needs to focus and make sure that he will not miss the weigh in again as that would be the worst day of his career if it's going to happen.

Truly a worst as missing it will be the end of his tenure as a WBO Bantamweight Title. He might also not get another opportunity to fight again because of his medical condition. But that was just a worst-case scenario as for sure, everything will go well from now on.

Casimero's camp already knows the risks and for sure the conditioning was already in progress.

About the paycheck on this match, AFAIK, it's not really that much for him and it's just a mandatory fight that he has to accept no matter what he thinks about it. But well, there's still money on it win or lose but he won't allow just to pass if it's about his title and record.
Just wishing the crowd won't make a ruckus whenever they see that it's in favor of Casimero.
It was already discussed in the past, and we all know it's not a big amount but Casimero has no choice but to fight the mandatory challenger or else he will lose his belt and his opportunity to get big fights in the future, so it's a must win for him.

Some good news to Filipino boxing fans out there. Seems like Casimero will be heading to MP Promotions again if things will be okay with him and Sean Gibbons. We can't deny the fact that Quadro Alas is one of the most popular boxer in the Philippines right now because of his antics and boxing style, also the personality and we can say that he is one of a kind so MPP should have him back as Casimero might be their cash cow in the next few years.

Quote
MP Promotions President Sean Gibbons is reportedly trying to patch things up with WBO world bantamweight champion John Riel Casimero before the Filipino’s next fight against Paul Butler on April 23 at a yet to be determined venue in Liverpool, England.

Good for him. MP Promotions will take care of everything. It's just that Casimero is surrounded by so-called professionals who don't how managing a boxer should be done properly. I hope Casimero will consider that. No more room for any doubts.

So the venue is in Liverpool, England. I thought it will be in the US to somehow get a good live crowd at the venue.

I agree, it's a good call if he will remain with MP promotions, no offense to Probellum, it is a good boxing promotion with Richard Schaefer at the helm.

But I think Casimero will be at home if he is with MP with the rest of the Filipino boxers. Sort of a family. There are reports that Donaire has something to do with him moving to Probellum, but Donaire has been close to Richard before so it make sense for him to move without hesitation. In any case, Liverpool it is, no doubt that Casimero will perform good at hostile crowds.

I think if Casimero was happy with MP promotion, he would stay with them, but it seems like he is not happy or not satisfied at all since he is not getting big fights under the promotion. With Probellum, maybe there's a bigger chance for him to fight Inoue which really is his main goal for now.

It is that it is not only Casimero's objective, if you start reviewing from 2021 we are all hoping that this meeting can take place, there have been previous fights, but I think that everything has happened that way because of the great business model that there is and it lies in boxing, the managers and the federation itself seek to do more fights to have more money, I think it is a direct consequence of the havoc caused by the pandemic. And I include myself, I want that fight to happen soon, because they are the boxers who have captured the most attention and popularity, I wouldn't know what to bet on right now.

Casimero deserves to have a bigger fight, or a fight with Inoue to be specific, he is just trash talking so he can get the attention of the world that he exist as a champion and that they should watch him fight. It's just a strategy on how to increase the sales, we know that Casimero does not sell fight more than Inoue can, and that's because Inoue is working with a great promoter which is Bob Arum.

Maybe sales is priority but in an unification fight, regardless of the sales and the hype, both champion should meet at the ring to unified their respective titles. It's not about with the sales but the fight should happen no matter what. Bob Arum influence also a big help that both boxers no need to trash talk and the fight will be profitable by only his actions.

I guess at some point, when there's no more opponents in the line for Inoue, regardless of sales and hype, this two will have to face each other. So it's really unavoidable in their career, as they are both on the same division, has the belt (assuming Casimero will win against Butler).

Bob Arum is one of the best managers in boxing, he knows how to set up a fight that will generate money. So the Inoue vs Casimero will be profitable for him so it's just the timing on when to have this fight.
