Apparently blockchain.info is open source.  Someone has suggested doing a campaign for funds on Startjoin (https://www.startjoin.com/).

Might be a good idea to do some fundraisers on there for a few other things too e.g. android wallet.  I'm not sure how much it would cost to get these things done so if anyone else knows please say.

yes that is a good suggestion and  we need to have the opinion of the dev.

In others news, BritCoin got a mention on CityAM today;

http://www.cityam.com/1407408888/britcoin-vs-scotcoin-uk-cryptocurrency-battle?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter

Not the best article..  Think that 'Guy' has it in for us, nevermind, publicity is what we need. Smiley

Thanks for the link. I left a comment - whose first part vouched for you - but it has yet to be approved. I take the tack that cryptocurrency is like any other information technology in its early stages: it seems dodgy, disreputable or overly complicated because the natural market at the moment is (mostly amateur) boffins. I urged skeptics to sit back and wait for crypto to come to them, as has been the case for the smartphone, Internet apps and even the personal computer itself.

My variant of the current "Evangelist 2.0" line...yes, crypto is dodgy in places, but that's because it's new and as yet unseasoned. Smiley

+1

Just seen your comment on the article, very nice!  Assuming it is you haha

You made some very valid points, something I wish that 'Guy' would have done. Smiley

dump coin   Cry Cry Cry

Haha don't be silly. Smiley  It's not a bad article, it just looks like lazy journalism..  He couldn't be bothered researching BritCoin before writing his article. Tongue

Good on you for the above demur. There are times when I wonder about the similarity - not in content and opinions, but an underlying similarity of style (if you will) - between Bitcointalk and the following forum:

Free Republic

Different scopes, different agenda, different favourite surmises (undoubtedly), but still...

[And just to let everyone know, the above isn't a thinly-disguised putdown. I'm actually a member at the Free Republic, although I have let my membership go dormant because I had to get out of politics-watching entirely. I still lurk there before my beddy-bye to see what's going on.]

Bit of a price drop overnight, don't worry though price oscillations are natural..  We will rise beyond 1k soon enough, remember not a panic sell. Smiley

What's going to be new about the client?  Shocked

Some nice UI changes to make the wallet more 'British' and a new statistics section.  We'll be having some more major devs coming up soon. Smiley

Yea we'll start using our reddit page a bit more, personally I dislike reddit but I'll ask the lad in charge of our reddit page to be a bit more active. Smiley

Thanks for pointing it out.
