Coins to be removed August, 4 due to low volume: PCC, ROX, HTML, DVC, FSC, CSO, VRC, BTCS, POS, QB, BRIT, NMC, TRK, FTC, COOL, CFC2, GOD, LTS, NIC, URO, TECH, GLY, DUCK, ISIS, VIA, SPATA, YACC, FRY, XBD, TORBTC

It's not really a big loss for BritCoin, we didn't have much volume on there since most people prefer Bittrex or even AllCoin. Smiley

Who cares if C-CEX is removing it?  The main volume is on Bittrex anyway.  Having it on crappy little exchanges just gives more opportunity to manipulate the price.  If you are that easily spooked you should sell your Brit to people who aren't.

That is not going to hurt it in any way. C-Cex is low volume all over

For those who didn't see on our Twitter here's a sneak preview of our upcoming Fiat > BritCoin exchange platform. Smiley

https://i.imgur.com/VpkD7P0.png

We're hoping to launch it for public use Friday if not early weekend. Smiley

The 'exchange' is going to be a bank-to-bank transfer?

Who is on the other side of the trade sending the Britcoin to the buyer?

EDIT: Or is this bank transfer into the exchange platform?

Good question.

At first it will be bank-to-bank with me personally running it.  Once the system is tested in a live environment I will be looking at implementing a system where users can apply to become sellers, giving the end user a competitive price and better service.

Once the platform is launched, the price of the Brits in GBP will be calculated based on how much it will cost me to buy the same amount of Brits sold on the Bittrex buy wall in BTC.  This will (hopefully) help give us a steady price increase because I will be buying at the ask price and eating up the sell wall.  Please keep in mind that I am selling my own personal coins that I have mined and bought myself. I really don't want to sell my Brits at the current price so I have to ensure that the amount that is charged is enough to cover the cost of rebuying the same amount of coins on Bittrex.

Hope this helps.  Let me know if you have any other questions. Smiley

In essence that is similar to what happens with current services like Bittylicious.  You do a bank transfer to an account they give you and then the person with the crypto sends it to your address when the Tx goes through.  It only takes about 5 minutes for the entire process because of the "Faster Payments" system in UK banks.

Exactly.  The whole coin ordering process only takes a few minutes start to finish, prolly even quicker than filling out your CC information.  And as the majority of internet users in the UK have access to online banking with 'Fast payments' it's the perfect solution. Smiley

good job dev, best luck to this project,
i'm hold my BRIT, let's see where it goes in 2 or 3 month  Grin

Thanks for your kind words and the support! Smiley

Remember that BritCoin isn't much older than a month, so it's still early days! Cheesy

All, not sure if you've all seen this, but it looks like Moolah is taking over Mintpal.  Great news in my opinion.  Sounds like they are going to reform the exchange and stop getting so many scamcoins listed.  Housecleaning will also take place to get rid of a lot of junk.

http://blog.moolah.io/2014/07/28/were-taking-over-mintpal-heres-what-you-need-to-know/

Maybe it's time to reopen channels with moolah and mintpal.

Yes we were aware of the takeover, exciting news in the British crypto world.  I think it's a good move on their behalf, MP wasn't running as well as it should have been and they needed help. Smiley

I'm still waiting for Moolah to get back to me though. I guess they've been busy with the take over this week.  Roll Eyes

I have just changed the 'Updates' section in the OP with some development progress and plans;

Quote
(Thursday 31/07/2014)

A quick update on what's going on with developments and general progress.

Our Fiat > BritCoin exchange platform will be launched this weekend.  This will allow British users buy BritCoins directly via instant bank transfer in a matter of minutes.  We're hoping this new platform to will open up BritCoin to the wider general public, which will (hopefully) make the price raise.

The BritCoin marketplace is nearing completion, this will allow users to buy/sell anything (legal) using BritCoins with full escrow support.
We will announce a launch date in the coming days..  We don't want to launch until it's fully tested.

We're hoping to be doing another press release sometime next week to announce the new Fiat > Brit platform, we think the general
public will show some interest in it due to the fact they no longer have to buy BTC to trade for Brits.

We would also like to welcome our new BritCoin dev team, Lee 'mib' Exley. Lee is going to be working on our media/PR/marketing campaigns and more.  He is currently working on a promotional video for BritCoin, which will be released soon. Smiley

A lot of exciting things coming up, including the August white-paper which will give details on our latest plans and progress so far.

Thanks for all the support!  Your faith will be rewarded.
