As I think 2018 is the year of ETH. The reason for it is aggressive growth of the coin. The platform of ETH is interested practically in all the spheres of our everyday life: healthcare, finance and so on.
I agree with you. This year there will be even more applications based on the etherium and this will push the demand for ETH up. I hold ETH and expect that by the autumn the price will reach $ 1500.

Ethereum does have lots of potential with smart contracts, but also has problems with scalability. Both bitcoin and Ethereum could have a price increase and double their value this year.
For me, both bitcoin and the ethereum will rise in 2018, Although we are in the down market but those 2 coins are performing well, and almost all of the tokens and coins existing in the market are tradable to both coins. And in fact, i save every month those coins, because i believe that it will give me more profits when the time comes that i gonna encash it into fiat currency, i am a long term trader and a bounty hunter, so i keep on collecting free coins which will be traded to ethereum and bitcoin. I give thumbs up to this 2 coins., this is in my portfolio for long term purposes.

In my opinion, you better to consider both Bitcoin and Ethereum as both were alredy known by many people and the demands by people is higher than other coins. We can buy both and hold it for a long period of time because as of right now they are stable and gradually increasing and with some dips. But in the long run they both still performing like last year 2017. So we better to buy now because the price is still low and hold until it rises again.

I don't agree Bitcoin is a means of payment. Even lightning network doesn't make it so. I believe that the main property of Bitcoin - reliability. So, Bitcoin is a store of value in my opinion. But i agree that BTC and ETH are different and shouldn't be compared. Both of them have big future.
I prefer ETH because the price for it now is not really high compared to last year, but about the BTC it is already too re-traded and people are no longer trusting it.

Yes bitcoin highly accepted currency in crypto world but ethereum is the only technology used max to its potential because there is lots of ethereum based projects are running . Ethereum not only payment mode it is also smart contract creation platform . Most of the token in market created based on ethereum blockchain . Even projects like eos , credits were using ethereum blockchain for their fund raising and listing to market . Now they are slowly moving to their own blockchain. So ethereum is not only crypto currency it’s complete crypto solution . I think ethereumIs having better future than bitcoin.
