Hello! I see no reason to choose, it is necessary to have both Bitcoin and Ethereum in your portfolio.
In my opinion, in 2018 btc and eth coins and the same will have very good value, because if you see eth coins that are very large movements and many are used in a project platform even though the value up and down is very significant, and for bitcoin it must remain rule because it is indeed the father of coins that exist today. I think Both should be.With BTC bull run ETH also will gain its real value again.But the rumors are saying That ETH is going to be die soon & it can be dropped as near as ICO price again.Who knows ,lets wish Both will be back on track again.
I think it is not only about difference in price. The coins are different in their business plans and targeted categories of people. We shouldn't compare them or bump their heads together. Both are great coins for their respective groups of stakeholders.
Yes, there will always be bitcoin ahead , I think that this Ethereum is certainly good , but bitcoin is still the Creator of the crypto currency, and Ethereum is just an assistant already!

I don't think ethereum has been able to prove that it is a good competitor for bitcoin this year. Although bitcoin went lower than the December 2017 price, it still managed to maintain a stable figure for a long period of time unlike ethereum which progressively decreases.
BTC is always the better choice, when in doubt always go with bitcoin. but when you are dealing with just altcoins then the answer is always to go with ethereum. I mean this is 2018 we have so many coins in the market, I do not think that this is the time to start comparing coins. ETH is better for me, I bet it is better on growing market. On bearish market bitcoin was better, but as a risky asset ethereum has higher volatility, so bullish market will bring eth holders higher profit
