 Poloniex Exchange @Poloniex

Market freeze just occurred because of a flurry of legitimate withdrawals.

I still have a 350 AUR withdrawal deducted from my balance even though the transfer never occurred.

Seems I put that withdraw order in around the same time as the attack.

Waiting patiently...

Also, I am surprised nobody is calling for interest.  Last year TAT had a loan program that paid .05% interest a day to help him launch new investments.  That was for a contract the investors willingly entered into with TAT.  Since this Poloniex loan was a loan we didn't really agree to I would think that a similar interest rate wouldn't be asking too much.  It also gives encouragement to the site operator to pay the "loan" back faster.

I am really unsettled by how the "temporary loan" was done.  I went to login to see the BTC balance down by a chunk and there is absolutely no record or email.  There is no accounting for the "loan" in any sort of format like all other accounting is done. I can see trades, open orders and withdrawals and deposits but there is no record of the amount of BTC withdrawn or its status.  Upon taking the money from user accounts there should have been a separate section added in the my balances page that showed the "loan" amount and its status as per readiness to be paid back.  So if, say, I lost a bitcoin, it would say in red something like "BTC poloniex loan: -1 btc / .12 BTC"  the "-1" being how much the site took and the ".12" is how much the site has to give back to us. Or if the balance is being added as the site makes up for it, the "BTC poloniex loan" section would have accounting for that.

My BTC balance was reduced on 58% now by poloniex. Is it normal?

You may have forgotten about the BTC you had in trade orders. I had one order cancelled to reduce my negative balance.

No. I requested to withdraw all BTC before bad news were. I know how many BTC I requested (it can be checked in confirmation email).
This request was canceled and now I have only 42% of my yesterday BTC balance.

Why did poloniex take 58% of my money?

I take it this the second time Poloneix ran into problems, the first being the security flaw in Counterparty? Not a very confidence bosting event.

Coinex.pw got repeatedly hacked in the initial days. While they sorted it out I am still loath to trade there. These days with lots of exchanges flaws like this can absolutely kill an exchange. I hope you don't run into any further trouble.
