BTS being used as collateral for the smartcoin economy has increased by 13.5% this week which brings the total BTS being locked by the network to back smartcoins to a record high of 19.7%.

This week has seen a 55.8% increase in Open orders on the Bitshares DEX!. This week also shows a 24 hour volume of over 40 Million USD and last week’s record setting 170 Million USD 24 hour volume is suggesting the liquidity is increasing as adoption grows and more people seek a more transparent and open means of exchange without restrictions that can be imposed on centralized entities.

Congratulations to Alfredo Garcia (Bitshares core developer) who has had his new worker proposal approved by the Bitshares holders for a second term working as one of the Bitshares core developers!. Alfredo work ethic has been proven in the previous term and i personally (Bitshares in general as well i am sure) am very happy to see his work continue.

OpenLedger has announced the termination of the BTSR project (HubDSP and Bitteaser). On February 1st 13:00 GMT the remaining BTSR that is held by Openledger will be burnt and following that burn OpenLedger will create a buy order on the Bitshares DEX to buy all remaining BTSR with OBITS (BTSR_OBITS). Price will be determined by the current market value of both BTSR and OBITS to give the users the same value in OBITS in return for their BTSR (at the time the order is placed). Through this series of developments, the bit shares can finally operate automatically like the real center community, which is the development of the bit stock. Grin
I totally agree with you. I love to trade BTS on poloniex exchange with using the high leverage, never worry about its volume.

Now there are such projects as centralization exchange, such as EtherDelta, Germany and so on. But from the overall performance and trading volume of the exchange, I don't think we can surpass bit shares. Wink

Alfredo Garcia (Bitshares core developer) has proposed a new worker proposal set to come into affect on the 22nd of Jan 2018. This new worker is to replace his previous worker proposal which has now expired. Alfredo has done great work on the Bitshares platform and the votes speak for themselves with his worker proposal already receiving enough vote to have it become active on the day of commencement

The team from Scorum (currently in ICO) have outlined an opensource method of doing ACCT (Atomic Cross Chain Transaction) on Graphene based chains. The paper outlines specifically a method demonstrating ACCT between their Graphene based chain and Litecoin. The team who developed this method have also offered support to implement this function within the Bitshares network. For more information see the ACCT Guide and their post on BitsharesTalk forum HERE

A new version of the Bitshares Reference wallet has been released (v2.0.180115). This update has featured more prominent headers on the exchange, updated send modal and language selector as well as some bug fixes. Get more information about the changes HERE and previous update HERE

@michaelx on behalf of Cryptonomex has created a worker proposal seeking the funds required to purchase bitshares.com. This domain was acquired by a fore-thinking squatter that recognised the value of the project. As Bitshares has grown so has the price of this domain and at the moment the asking price is said to be 250,000 USD. Apparently their is another party interested in purchasing this domain and from what we know this is not a member of the community or anyone related to the project.. obviously a domain in the wrong hands is not ideal. The worker proposal is for 500,000 BTS. more details HERE

24 hour trade volume of 170 Million USD on the DEX recorded on the 16th of Jan

Due to a fee reduction the cost of Life Time Membership's on the Bitshares network have been reduced from 1457 BTS down to 110.8 BTS. Given the current market condition these are the cheapest prices i have seen for LTM's.. I recommend if you have been waiting for a time to buy this membership then you should consider the current sale prices.

The Bitspark teams has released another update to the Zephyr project. Update #4 covers some technical and business updates including new team members, signing of NDAs as well as development on the upcoming Sendy 2.0 mobile app and more. Read the full report HERE

A quote from George Harrap (Co-Founder of Bitspark): 'There is only 1 DEX that has 1. Been in existence 3.5years. 2. Operated at 3300tx/s. 3. Have zero counterparty stablecoins. 4. $200m vol yesterday. objectively #bitshares is so far ahead of other projects it’s not even close'

There are so many different Bitshares topic, is this the main active one that should be followed?

Any upcoming news or a roadmap? Are we mostly reliant on the Chinese investors for Bitshares or is there a lot of interest in Bitshares in the West too?

Bitshares as minimum info here in bitcointalk, if one want to know more, should visit: https://bitsharestalk.org/

Just bought the BitShares. Price is really low, HODL !!! Smiley

Now is a good time to buy, I bought for the long term so the recent drop don't worry me , it's just makes it a good opportunity to buy more.

Yeah, I agree. Very resilient coin indeed. I have invested on several times and already made profit from it. It has already worked so it is suitable for trading and gaining more profits.

Assuming that my  account name is red-sanford in the account activity page yet on the top of the dex pages it shows my account as RED-SANFORD . I didn't notice the difference until after I sent the funds and now have a "completed:error" showing on Polo's end.

Does it make a difference (I am guessing it does) that I sent the funds using all caps vs all lowercase ??  If so it would be a good idea to have the dex pages show your account name in a consistent and correct manner

there's no difference. the wallet.bitshares.org wallet doesn't show all caps, so you must be using one of the random wallets I know nothing about.

You're correct. It was https://openledger.io
Still waiting to hear back from Polo. Does Ronny control that site ?
