Thank you, @RHavar! Whilst unexpected (that Bustabit would claim on our behalf and pass on the claim), it's very welcome.

I was just made aware of this: https://www.stellar.org/blog/bitcoin-claim-lumens-2/

So I've taken a snapshot of peoples balances at the time of that block (a few minutes ago). And once I can claim the lumens (~24 hours) I'll claim them on everyones behalf (for people that have money on bustabit) and then sell the lumens, and put them in your account as "Free bits". If you want me to not sell your lumens (and give them to you instead). Please let me know at bustabit.com/support using the account that holds a balance.

And if you want free bitcoin, there's nothing to do but wait. And I'll handle it all =)

Faucets can be botted quite easily though, so you don't have to do anything except code the bot. Your only cost would be internet, electricity, and captcha solves, but all of those are quite cheap. It's probably profitable, considering how many abusers there are. I'm assuming the simplest way to solve it was to remove it, as the intention was so people could try it out. The costs of losing customers because they can't test it might be lower than the faucet abusing costs.

Probably the biggest issue for me, is actually just trying to manage the type of people faucets bring in. Faucets are a fantastic way for people to try the site without going through all the hassles (and costs) of depositing, so that's something I do want to bring back as soon as possible. But what I don't want to do is encourage people who are purely looking for handouts, as it tends to be just a net negative to the community/chat.

The new update (which I'm working hard on, I promise) actually has a sort of "reverse leveling faucet" based on your ip address, where the more it's used the less money it gives. That way it can satisfy it's purpose for trying out the site, but not really attractive for much more

I really think you should bring the faucet back. I really enjoyed being able to still play even if I lost everything. I sometimes just want to play just for the sake of playing and I don't want to have to make a deposit of such a large amount then maybe lose it and have to do it again. I rather play for fun with dust from a faucet until I feel I want to gamble for real with a reasonable amount. I surely don't see the faucet as a means to make money but s means to just play. I mean why can't someone just play for fun if that is what they wish ? I'm so sure how the faucet is abused but that's what it should be for and how it should be used.

Agree with that system, just need to make sure your base faucet isn't high enough for people to think it's worthwhile to use lots of different IP's/VPN's.

I've always said that the type of people that are attracted to a faucet aren't the types of people you'd want in your casino.  Much more so if you have a chat component.  You'll just never see any money from those people, it's a big net negative (well...not BIG, but you know).  If anything, make a faucet that can only be used once or twice so people can check out the site...anything more is just asking for abuse.

2 bits is better than nothing. But as you said it got abused. Imagine if abusers claim 2 bits, will bet it to 2000times payout, if it hits, then its free money. And if bot users will do it for 10 - 20 accounts, it will be a lot of money.

But how long are you going to hunt that amount? It really takes your time here, and who are going to waste their time here just for this small amount of money? And the tine you spend here is not worth to what you get. So yes I agree that they remove it so people do not abuse it for sure. But i just wondering about new player, how they going to try some site here

Hey guys,

What elements would you change/add/remove to bustabit.
Personally, I find the 5 second a little short, id much prefer 7seconds.
Moreover, maybe a redirect to a community of sort, such as this one but supported by the platform.

Let me know, thanks Smiley

Seems like a reasonable change. And yeah, I've tested building a forum with single-sign on and it doesn't look too hard so that's something I can launch after the v2 release (which is ~1-2 months away )
