I truly hope BFL ships sometime soon. I've had a miner on order for around 6 months now, though I understood it could be awhile going in. In the long run I'd like to see ASIC miners become commonplace as I think it would be good for Bitcoin both in terms of security and in keeping it decentralized. With that said, the wait may be hurting those goals in the short term as people have held of adding more GPUs and FPGAs thinking that their ASICs would come any day now.

There is no reason to why they shouldnt ship as long as they are able to produce chips. As far as I understand, the problem was chips performing badly or not working at all.

I had no idea about some of the stuff in this post and almost got sucked in, I think Id rather sit back and see how it shakes out

70.000 preorders...2 months waiting...BFL production is about 1000 miners per day...its joke 
I ordered 2 jalapenos in August and thought that there was no way that they wouldn't deliver by the end of the year and I told myself I was going to cancel my order at the end of the year. In January, I decided to give BFL the benefit of the doubt and I only refunded one of my jalapenos. Now it's almost 10 months since I ordered. I don't have much to lose so I'm keeping my jalapeno order but this is just BS. What really pisses me off is that at the beginning of this month they put out an e-mail saying they are shipping and got everyone excited but they haven't shipped a damn thing since that e-mail.

If anyone has seen some of the prices the early pre-ordered BFL miners are going for on ebay, you might conclude that a better business model was just to make a bunch of $700 pre-orders and then sell them 10 months later for 10 times the price
