I think he was talking about a paid female companion named Cupcake  Grin
Seriously though, I just recently discovered the wonderful world of crypto-currencies, but was bummed when I discovered I was late to the party and that the ASICs were just around the corner, but I really wanted to start mining. But then I discovered that scrypt based currencies are still profitable to mine with GPUs so i quickly built a rig with 2 7950's to start. I think I will just play the waiting game to see if these ASICS actually materialize, then maybe use some mining proceeds to buy one months down the road, but i'm sure the wait time will still be ridiculous, and by then the difficulty may be too high.

This was my experience as well. I bought a rig at 53 diff and then for some reason everyone discovered litecoin. Between 53 and 100 I had to figure out how the miners work and all the fun stuff so mining was experimental.

After I finally got things under my control it was 100+ diff. In less than a month it shoots from 100 to 600 now the rig is basically worthless.

Thinking back I sat and waited 3 months for BFL to deliver thinking that GPU mining would be a waste if my precious asic would be here along with others. Diff was below 13 and I could of made quite a dent in you know what I mean.

Foundation is bitcoins politition mustn't portray bitcoin as a corrupt den of theivering bankers in training. lol

Its all polished and pre-scripted imo. It was a nice thing to listen to. I get this feeling from others that the foundation is something they created and constantly needing validation from the community. I hate politicians in general. I get the feeling that is what they are bitcoin politicians. YUK!

My only concern is that the minirig is addressed by the community. BFL needs to prove they have a roadmap to deliver the product. They have moved beyond the give us more time and hardware is hard stage. They accepted at least 100k from one corporation for the minirig and what they have delivered to market cannot be scaled. It is consumer fraud to assert anything else.

I am getting seriously tired of this game and there will be consequences for Josh and Co if they continue.

My sentiments here is basically this. Give them more rope. They're doing a good enough job themselves on getting hung. << This is a metaphor for all the lawyers hahaha

Unethical Business, sure.  Scam, not really.

You Pre-order, No Guarantee on anything except: one day you will get your product
After they use your product for a while and get a little extra out of it, they'll ship it to you.

This was that guys show and I assume he did not want to add to the fervor of the scandal so it did look very clean. However although the words of the interview failed to deliver the atmosphere you could tell that Gavin did know BFL is a big fuckup through is smirk and body language. I would assume he did not want any part of that topic at all. Even the interviewer had picked up on it and moved along very quickly to the next topic.

Let's just say The elephant in the room was caught on camera and quickly removed. Like any other fake media bullshitto

Then you say the following "I've been so involved in developing good software for the Bitcoin protocol and all my duties at the foundation that I haven't had the time to really look into upcoming mining hardware. We are excited to see so much innovation in the market and ASICs really reflect the passion the community has for Bitcoin"

No commitment, nothing negative. He basically endorsed them with his comments.

Gavin Andresen (watch the interview!) says that he fully understands the delays from Butterfly Labs: Hardware is hard. Hardware delays are the norm.

This was an enormously irresponsible statement and damages Gavin's credibility. The delays at BFL are beyond normal hardware issues. They assert to have and accepted money for products in their queue that physically cannot exist with the technology they have delivered to market.

And before you say I don't know what I'm talking about Josh, you fucking tell me how you are going to scale a 10 watt per GH design to 1500 GH/s unit in a case the size of a full ATX tower? Have a fucking engineer explain it to someone because it just doesn't make any sense.

Fuck BFL, I ordered a Jalapeno

SCAMMERS

Did you see, they changed the name and price, jal to something, and from $174 to $276 or something, then they removed everybodys shipping from first class to a lower tier and asking an additional amount of money "175USD" for shipping. Then they ship out, "Experiment units" to people, with youtube vids, try to pull more customers in.

Edit:

I'm not all that smart, but this is common sense to me, what BFL is/are doing.

I hope the Bitforce5 products are shipped at least. But other companies seem to be near to offering high GH machines at reasonable prices without taking pre-order money yet, especially in Europe. I am bewildered but spreading my risk.

I made a 60GH bitcoin miner preorder on June 2012. Still nothing. I asked for a refund but they don't reply, I need to sell it, I'm not going to wait that BFL ships, I have no time to waste.

I just started to listen but dam he payed .37btc for a dozen cupcakes? What were they sprinkled with cocaine icing sugar?

0.37btc = 42.00 dollars? wow

$3-$4 ea for gourmet hand made custom designed cupcakes is the going rate... the wife charges $48 a dozen for handcrafted, Texas sized cupcakes with handmade butter-cream frosting and decorated to order, all wrapped in the paper pattern of your choice and delivered by hand to your event, doorstep or available for local pickup.

Gavin Andresen (watch the interview!) says that he fully understands the delays from Butterfly Labs: Hardware is hard. Hardware delays are the norm.

Personally I have no strong opinion on this matter. Just notice that by the time you get these ASIC miners, those Ghashes will no longer be worth what they're worth today. In a way ... hashes suffer inflation while bitcoin suffers deflation. Huh.
