I ordered a BFL SC Single back in June of 2012 and did receive my order last week. It is not a scam but I would advise applying some common sense when investing into a new order today.

I was with you until you typed that. How do you figure it's not a scam when you were told you'd receive your order in October, November, December of 2012 and you instead received it in August of 2013...some nine months late?

Two more weeks =)

Off topic, anyone know what a mining patty is? Eligius has them listed as 'coming soon', but they were awesome about shipping BE's.

KnC / BitFury = WINNING ? lol.

I highly recommend that any new BTC miners only buy hardware that is ready to be shipped out (i.e. 3-5 business days) and do not pre-order any ASIC equipment from any vendor (Hint: No one at all is selling ready to go hardware with the exception of ASICMiner). It is simply put not worth it at this point in time and you'd be better off buying BTC and sitting on it for value appreciation.

P.S / Disclosure:

BFL was a bad horse in our gold rush race. Now it seems Avalone as well wasn't right pick (chips delays). Current winners appear to be Bitfury and KnC.
Yeah. Neither which have delivered. Winning. A lot.

Running through the numbers at Bitcoinx's calculator (http://www.bitcoinx.com/profit/)

...

Check http://mining.thegenesisblock.com/

If you have one now - It pays off in a few months ... then electricity costs come back to bit you.

We all need BTC/fiat to go up of we're losing money.  Seems to me the minings days are behind us and the trading and business development days are upon us.

Sorry, the calculator has a bug.  Wait til tomorrow and run the same thing.  you will see nothing but red for BFL units.  (Wait for the next difficulty change then look again)

Tomorrow after the diff increase select any BFL product and chose SEPTEMBER delivery.  You'll see that you will never recover your money

September gives a slight ROI, so I guess the fanboys will be happy about that. October is dismal,  I feel for BFL customers. I honestly cant believe how anyone could be giving positive reviews of this company in the slightest.

They have shipped units, how is it a scam lol
At the beginning of his "business" Charles Ponzi had also paid high yields to some of his customers. He had even paid after one month, not after one year lol

In his last interview he justified what he did this way:
"Even if they never got anything for it, it was cheap at that price. Without malice aforethought I had given them the best show that was ever staged in their territory since the landing of the Pilgrims! It was easily worth fifteen million bucks to watch me put the thing over."

Because the BBB itself is a scam
http://bbbscam.net/
No Seriously, im not fucking around, im not kidding, im not stretching the truth, im not under a tinfoil hat and what im saying isnt speculation or FUD.
Marketplace (the show) and ABCnews did a pretty good job exposing them

Trufax.  I'm not sure if the BBB was ever anything other than a scam, but that's what it is now.  Basically, they operate by bribery (you have to pay them to get a good rating) and extortion (you get a bad rating if you don't).  It can still potentially be useful to file complaints with them just to hassle the target, but the BBB should never be used as a source of reliable information.  Many outright scams (way worse than BFL) have an A- or A rating.

Then to follow it up, groups like anon created "business" like Al-Queada, Bloggers made things like the Hamas get an A- rating, just because of the CC used
http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/business-bureau-best-ratings-money-buy/story?id=12123843 <--- In the vid, Skip to 2:17 or 4:17 or 7:20 for the juicy parts
And around 8mins the guy runs from the interview
Seriously, Total scam.

BFL are a bunch of FRAUDS who used False Advertising to Con people into being pseudo investors with no benefits.
"PRODUCTS ARE IN THE FINAL STAGES OF DEVELOPMENT!, SHIPPING NEXT MONTH!" x7 <-- Seriously, They changed the ad banner itself about seven times, Changing the month each time

Bitcoin: An Idea Worth Spending
August 12, 2013, 02:05:23 PM
There's no need to "prove it."  It doesn't matter what you believe.  Reality doesn't care about you, or haven't you figured that out yet?  When you are an adult, you'll realize the real world doesn't care about you and neither do I.

The correct url is

http://www.bitfurystrikesback.com/shop/

but even these prices are not all that great. These are in line with BFL's current prices. Yes the chips are more efficient, but the idea that these products at this price are a BFL killer is flawed.

Nobody has to kill BFL...they're committing suicide. Even Avalon has announced an updated product in the pipeline. What has BFL announced that's new since last June? They have more hostages, but their product lines have degraded significantly.

BFL's prices have risen since June 2012.
BFL's claimed efficiency has dropped since June 2012(due to reality intruding).
BFL's claimed time to deliver has been proven to be a lie again and again.

The competition has already surpassed BFL's prior technical superiority, which would be fine if their investors had the products they'd paid for and were working toward a ROI, but the vast majority of them are not and haven't received anything but empty promises.

Chargeback if you're able.

I went here:
http://www.bitfury.org

that's what's listed.

Ultimately, though, at the end of the day, I'd vote that the whole ASIC arms race has done zero for Bitcoin. Everyone's spending enormous sums of money to fight over a shrinking pie. We all might as well have stayed on CPUs.

Wrong site.  https://www.megabigpower.com/shop

And yes, this is a constant level'ing up for the same slice.   The same thing would happen with CPUs.  You would have huge investments in the best CPU and each time a new CPU came out-- people would upgrade.   I think the ASIC game is great for BTC and this race will only last a year and then it will be over.  We are at a huge tipping point right now with the amount of ASIC producers.

We needed more than BFL and Avalon for consumer units.  They totally messed up the entire market.  Once a ASIC producer can manufacture units without preorder-- things will level off and none of these companies will move the market and cause so many issues.  The hashing rate will level off and will become predictable again.

Unless you were willing to take a lot of risk to get ASIC gear first (of each generation) mining is just a waste of time for the average bitcoin user.
People are still waiting for first generation gear. By the time they get it it will be worthless for actual mining and expecting it to produce a reasonable amount of BTC.
It is hardly worth the effort to keep up to date with all this crap. Sorta like all the new scrypt alt coins. Why bother?

I think, mining, bitcoins biggest draw for the average tech user will no longer be valid and bitcoin will lose users to something else. Litecoin obviously benefited quite a bit.

September will have $17 per Gigahash units online from KNC and October will be $15 per Gs from BitFury.   From there price per gh/s will drop under 10.   Under 10 might not be profitable either if things get too crazy. BFL's price is 50 per ghs.

Bitfury released that price for August since they knew u could get 100% of your unit paid for in the first month.  AND THEY ACTUALLY RELEASED.
