You can invest in Altcoins for long term or short term. Investing in Bitcoin for long term would probably be the wisest choice, but having Altcoins also and getting to know their movement and patterns is important. Many traders invest on Altcoins in conjuction to Bitcoin investments.
I think it's up to you to buy an altcoin, and when buying altcoin I suggest you buy ETH or NEO because the selling price is expensive.

I would say yes. Invest in Altcoins. Though skip the trash ones that's obviously out to pump and dump. Other established coins such as LTC or ETH is definitely worth the investment. You just have to find the next one that will be respected.

Yeah, the altcoins are fine but it seems that there is a pattern. Whenever bitcoin pumps and rockets, they take a backset. They only start going up when bitcoin stops.

I think that strategy is quite wise, because spending also for alts investments for holdings might be a struggle. So for me I guess that good enough to use only small amounts to invest. Don't expect to much greater with bitcoins because by the time it stabilizes, we can also witness the pump of the alts in the future days; maybe at January or early December this year.
