If the coins on your radar have lasted this long and are still been traded, then I would buy some of these old coins  but coins with no value and still trying to get listed on an exchange, stay away from such at all cost, these have got the stamp of approval of being a shit coin.

Sometimes,  we are lost in our unrealistic expectations of the old dreams associated with old Cryptocurrency,  we must however be critical in our thinking and see things for what they are.  Many old coin have stopped developments years ago,  some old coin tech and directions are not applicable in the current market.  You just have to let the old dog lie!
Hehe, sometimes it's funny when reality doesn't match what you expected, but don't get me wrong if the coins that are popular at the moment and are at the top of the rankings are all old coins, only a few are new, so from that we can conclude that not all of the old coins have stopped developing, because some are still developing well. Wink
those who can maintain their market community with product development will always get a good market.
Old projects that are forgotten are those that are present in the market then there is no development. there are even some projects that only migrate to the blockchain chain. without any updates from the platform. they just want to use the hype going on in the market only.

You never know. We shouldn't just say like "It is an old coin. It won't make me a good amount of money.". Being the oldest or newest is not the most important criterion. The condition of the project is the most important.

But we should just say. Yes you never know and that is the whole point. If you have some already okay,,, good and then just hodl or forget about it and keep the private keys safely until they maybe moon. But to invest more money now into old coins just because of "you never know" is a sure way to lose funds.

I think not all, old coins are worthy to buy, but only those few that was proven and tested just like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Binance, etc. because its too many old coins already, they are thousands of them in the market today that's why it's not easy to track them all, for the better just choose the Top ranking old coins in the market. But if you are aware of many successful new projects in the market today I will include them to diversify my portfolios.
Yes, if it's more about looking for a safe and comfortable place to invest and trade, then it won't be wrong to choose the top coins as you mentioned, but if you really have a lot of time to explore successful projects, that's also not wrong, but most recently successful projects also need more time to develop again.

Depending on the use case of the coin and how the teams promote the benefits of their coin. If they keep to developing new product and follow the trend of market, they will be survive from the market, because the interesting of the project increasing. Let see old coin of Cloack coin, the price still in the bottomed although the market on bull market because the don't have others products that interest to see. With high competition on the market, more altcoin can be dying.
That's right, and in the past too many coins died because there was no use and benefits to be gained from these coins, and actually every year there are always coins that die because their development is not smooth and the demand is low.

A natural thing that happens because there will be coins that grow and die every year. I've also held some old coins that ended very sadly. The coin undergoes a gradual decline and ends up being up. Many things you will go through later with what you have held. but I'm sure there will be 1 coin that makes you lucky and make a profit.

With all of the hype surrounding "De-Fi" and NFTs, it looks like old coins like Peercoin, Primecoin, and Quark have been left in the dust. This is sad, considering that the aforementioned coins have a proven track record of stability and reliability. New coins are usually less secure than old ones. Despite the low interest/demand for old coins, they're still actively traded on the market.

I'm wondering whenever it's worth buying and holding old coins for the long term. Primecoin is one of its kind with a PoW algorithm that contributes towards the discovery of prime numbers. It's a pity other crypto projects haven't copied its model. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

It is depend on what old altcoin you want to buy, my suggestion is buybonly old coin which has so many peoole involve in it like Monero, Dash, litecoin or Zcash. These are good old altcoin with strong community behind it. It will not gives you 100% safe poaition but atleast they are survived from many crypto winter in this decade.
Dash : created in 2014 and still survive and it is first proof of stake coin in this industry.
Litecoin : the first script mining coin ( dogecoin is forked from litecoin source )
Monero : no doubt this coin is the most anonym and untraceble coin on earth.
Zcash : the first coin which implemented Zero Knowledge technology by zooko

If you really want to invest in old coins than take a look on LTC, XLM, DOT and ADA these coins are still worth to invest and hold for long time.
Nowadays many shitcoins and useless coins are being created, which have not any value in market but people are still investing in these coins and getting loss. I am confused why people don't Invest in strong project.
I think they just want to have quick profit that's why they invest in sh*tcoins. We all know that these coins get immediately pump when the project launch in exchange like pancake swap then immediately dump also after a few minutes.
I agree, there are lot of old tokens that are worth of investment, as you mentioned. Tokens that are continuing to improve and upgrades that makes more competitive in current crypto situation. It's worth of investment but also we should do a lot of research before investing. These tokens also requires long-term not for short term investment.

Unfortunately, not every old cryptocurrency now has interest from traders or investors. New cryptocurrencies are now showing the best results and are mainly invested in them. To understand whether it is worth investing in old coins, you need to re-examine their offer and at what level of development they are now. If everyone has already forgotten about them and they have no liquidity, then they are definitely not worth buying. As for me, it is better to pay attention to the actively developing DeFi and NFT, but also not to forget about the top cryptocurrencies, because not all of them have shown their growth potential yet.

This market is like a competition. Those who are strong will stay and those who are weak will go away.
In this case, those coins who aren't popular right now for some reasons will be the ones that will go away and those strong ones will stay.

Although I believe that there are some old coins who has a better technology compare to the new ones that are coming up right now, its the community of the coin that matters at least for me. Its sad but we must accept that there will be coins that will rise and there will coins that will fall. Now to answer the question, buying old coins is worth until now but as an investor I'll prefer those old coins that are still in the top 100 right now rather than those at the bottom ones.

Yes, am in support of people buying old coins provided the buyer has faith and trust in the coin. Do not buy a coin because of hype but buy it because you are convinced that the coin is a nice coin with solid foundation and team members. Buy the coin and let it stay for long term. That is the only way you will get to make profit from it once its demand increases.

For example, coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum are also old coins but it is worth buying them absolutely. Old or new, it doesn't matter for me. I give a big importance to the potential of a coin. It is the most important for me.

From my experience so far in crypto, people prefer fomo or hype from new altcoins rather than old altcoins with only a small daily trading volume, this is an indication that investors prefer short profits rather than having to wait a long time even though it looks promising

It is worth it if the coin already popular that it got listed in many exchanges and not lacking trading volume as to keep it from delisted but the coins like
you mentioned won't. When it comes to old coin like that they are lacking the marketing making fewer and fewer new investor got in and also losing their
old users. If you're truly looking for old coin try to find in among the top market caps, they are safe for long term won't get delisted out of the blue.
But some old coins also have done some successfull branding so you should look into that as well I guess.
If we talk about old coins, of course we need to do some research first,
besides that we can find out on the top coins on coinmarketcap to avoid the risks,
and maybe we can do a combination, namely by buying old coins and new coins and make sure before buying we do our own research and analysis

I mean Bitcoin and Ethereum are also "old" coins and of course it's still worth it to buy those. There are also a lot of coins in the top 100 or top 50 region that are around 3 years old or even older like IOTA, Dash, Monero and Waves and i would say that all of these coins are also still safe investments as they are all still actively developing and improving their product.
I guess you thought about old and small projects. This questions is harder to answer and you really need to research the projects before you invest if they are still active if they still have a community or if it is just a dying project that slowly but surely moves down in the market cap ranking since years.
