Old coins in the market are still worth to invest because they can still increasing and also will pump once the market will go bullish, sometimes because of the project itself. Remember in the first quarter of this year the market was bullish and many old coins pumping especially bitcoin we surprisingly it touched at $60k so for me old coins are still worth..
- Just look at the capitalization rates of the coins and the first two pages on CMC, the distribution of capitalization remains largely in the old coins, bitcoin is also an old coin but still occupies the first place, the next positions are also old altcoins, the capitalization of new altcoins is not competitive, sometimes they can grow rapidly in capital but they cannot store stability on the part of users. Users know which product's durability will be more suitable for them, new to them is only a temporary comfort

for an old coin that still has potential it's worth it. but for those who don't have and don't even have major developments, it's better not to buy. for example ethereum, litecoin, monero, and doge are one of the many old coins that still have potential and are worth investing in long term.

it doesn't matter to be on the old coin, as long as the coin is still active and the team is still able to handle the coin well. because we know there are old coins that still exist today for example cardano, litecoin, neo and still have potential. so don't hesitate to stay on old coins as long as you can analyze and choose good old coins

OP isn't talking about bitcoin, it is the king of crypto market and there is no doubt about the price rise of bitcoin. Lots of old altcoins can't flow with the bull trend of crypto market. Some of them become a dead project as the time flows. So, you should do some research before investing your money in any old project. Occasionally some new coins/DeFi project get huge success and take the position of old coins. Basically, it won't be a good idea to invest our money on any old coins which is going down continuously.

I don't think all old coins are drowning in crypto, there are still old coins that are very worth investing in, such as BTC, ETH, XRP, TRX and Litecoin, these coins still have very bright potential and progress, so they are worth investing in.

I think that it depends on the idea, if it is something innovative and useful, it is reasonable to hodl tokens of this project. But you definitely should follow the trading volume,as if it is low, other people are not interested in this project.

Also you should analyse their marketing: if they don’t run an ad and don’t attract public attraction, nothing will raise the price.

With all of the hype surrounding "De-Fi" and NFTs, it looks like old coins like Peercoin, Primecoin, and Quark have been left in the dust. This is sad, considering that the aforementioned coins have a proven track record of stability and reliability. New coins are usually less secure than old ones. Despite the low interest/demand for old coins, they're still actively traded on the market.

I'm wondering whenever it's worth buying and holding old coins for the long term. Primecoin is one of its kind with a PoW algorithm that contributes towards the discovery of prime numbers. It's a pity other crypto projects haven't copied its model. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley
In my opinion, it's no longer worth buying old coins, let alone coins that don't have strong fundamentals. My advice is that you buy coins that have strong fundamentals and high liquidity. You need to know that Liquidity is one of the important factors that need to be considered before deciding to buy old coins or new coins. This is because liquidity can have a major impact in terms of exchange rates and future profits.
right, old coins are not necessarily good, many of them are not growing. to invest I suggest choosing a coin that is really trusted. especially new coins, beginners like me still find it difficult to identify a new project, many of them are scams, so we end up getting nothing. therefore it is better to choose the coin listed at the top on coinmarketcap

I still remember at the beginning of 2018 I had 27k Dogecoin and if I sold it at the end of 2020 then I would get a lot of profit.
Old coins are good for long term investment but at the moment I only have a small list of coins and I hope there is a list of old coins that I can choose from like the OP has, then I will try to hold on to it for a long time.

There are some good old coins out there with real life utility like PundiX however as new projects are emerging, it is wise to learn from these older ones. I believe that these older ones are quite secure and much richer qualities compare to newer ones. However, newer ones like DeFi projects are hot due to its use cases and to generate passive income. Unless these old coins adopt and make positive improvements, they'll stay left behind.

You can buy old coins. There are still many old coins that are developing very well, but there are also some new coins issued. They are innovative on the basis of old coins, and they are more worth buying than old coins, but now some new coins Be careful when investing. There will be some scammers. If the old coins have no value, don't invest in the old coins.

Depending on the coin, it is worth or not. For example, Bitcoin is also an old coin as we all now. But we see that it has an overwhelming dominance in the market now. And it could be one of the most logical coins to invest into. And for example, Ethereum is also an old coin among the altcoins in the market. But I think that it is a good choice to invest into also.

Every year there is something new and those coins that keep up with the market trend they gain value. Old coins are not good for investment unless they are constantly developing and keeping up with the rest of the cryptospace. Some of the old coins I had invested back in 2017 never came back to life while some of them gained 10x.

It's not a matter whether they are new or old, just a matter of how up to date they are when it comes to latest crypto technology.

It's all a matter of staying ahead of the game in order to keep up with investor's demands in the mainstream world. Not every old coin is capable of doing this. Only those with active development and a vibrant community will be able to stand the test of time.

I usually tend to put most of my money on new coins because they're extremely profitable. Old coins are the last ones considered as a long-term investment (with the exception of Bitcoin and Ethereum, of course) because of the risks involved when "hodling" them. You can end up becoming a "bagholder" if the old coin you're investing into becomes abandoned in the long run. This happened to me with "Hodlcoin" where I've poured thousands of dollars into it only to lose everything thereafter. If the project will revive sometime in the future, is beyond me. But I think it's better to invest into tried-and-tested coins like Bitcoin and Ethereum than going into "uncharted waters". Just my thoughts Grin

Cryptocurrency is evolving, coins come and go even the new coins that you are seeing now, have a possibility to cease, there are old coins worth investing, Bitcoin and Dogecoin is the trending coin this year and they are old coins, so we can safely say that it's still worth investing in old coins, your portfolio should consist of old and new coins, there are old coins that also evolve to keep up the present need of the community.
I totally agree with you mate, there are several old coins that are currently worth investing in, even, from my own perspective, old and still very active coins are more trust worthy to invest in than new coins, cus this ones have stood the test of time and prevailed, this show their level of legitimacy, but some of  the new coins might appear more promising but they are definitely more riskier to invest in because their foundation and strength aren't tested yet, they are more prone to fold and die if they get hit by a serious crypto winter.
But all being the same, one should always invest in new coins as well as old ones as long as they are proven legit in all aspects.

it's true that nowadays a lot of new coins are popping up so that the old coins are starting to erode their existence. but there are still some old coins that are still good to keep even though at this time new coins also have good prospects. if you really want to invest in old coins, then invest in coins that do have good and stable prospects in the market, we can look at the market and analyze the coins that are good. if we often look at the market, of course, we can also follow it well. that's important because if we can choose a good coin then the profit will be big too.

I think old coins is no longer worth buying, because old coins are very behind, investors are now interested in the technological development of new coins, so I think buying old coins is very risky

I think, depends on a kind of old coins. Old coins that already exist more than ten years together with bitcoin is still worth to invest as long as there is a huge demand on it and there is a continues development of the project which is that it will not be left with new coins. Actually old coins are more reliable and trusted than a new one.
Well, not all old coins are at risk. such as bitcoin, eth, BNB, XRP, and other coins. I see, most of the coins that dominate the top crypto are old coins. however, it all depends on the old coin you choose. So far, I'm also still trying to collect and hold ethereum, and I think, ethereum is one of the old coins that still has great potential today.

sometimes it is not unreasonable to hold old Alcoins like that, there are some old altcoins that are worth keeping and some should be released considering the growing popularity today. like the Altcoin you mean "Primecoin", I don't think that altcoin has a great popularity when compared to other altcoins. so for now it looks like old altcoins that are worth keeping or buying are like Dogecoin, and Btt.

I dont think it's a good idea to buy old coins.  Without a good team, the project wont last too long. The old coins that missed this round may disappear  till the next bull market round. After all it's a high-risk,high-reward game .Most people will choose safe coins,Bitcoin Eth etc.

almost most of the old coins suddenly appeared and hype in the crypto market. even I observed the coins were projects in the past like mid-2019 to 2020. there are many coins of them experiencing an increase in this year. Legitimate projects certainly take a long time to show their existence in the crypto market, if you know about a coin hype then you will find the answer yourself.
I'd never agreed that legit projects will take time to show, no, they will surely make pump if they have the potentials and even no hypes happened unlike with the new projects.
Well, buying olds coins have the advantage as it was considered for long-term investment but have to be sure that old coins are not dead coins.
But for me, I'd never think about old or new coins, what is most important is that we are confident that we are investing the right and promising coin, not shitcoins.

Old coins that are not dead coins in terms of development. Because if you will buy an old alt where there is no more updates happening anymore, then, that's useless. Should always have specific use case and the dev team is still active with their innovations. You should always look at the application of the coin. Because even if they have noble mission/use case, most of them don't even get the audience they want.
