If the coins on your radar have lasted this long and are still been traded, then I would buy some of these old coins  but coins with no value and still trying to get listed on an exchange, stay away from such at all cost, these have got the stamp of approval of being a shit coin.

Lol. it seems to be a coin that people are unlucky to hold. if indeed it makes bad luck you should throw it away or burn it. Maybe Grin
But I think a little if it really makes bad luck it seems that it also saves a lot of unlucky coins.

Yes it is it's still worth it and one good example is DogeCoin, you just never when one whale as big as Elon Musk will support and invest in one of the old coins you are holding, Cryptocurrency technology is moving and upgrading every year there is a technology being introduced in the Crypto world and old coins should create anew roadmap or integrate new technology to their system to make it in tune to the present times.
while the project is still running, you will see how projects with their old coins develop and make progress according to what is happening in the market.
such as the example related to the migration of the blockchain network used from ERC to BEP. simple ham but I'm sure it wasn't on their roadmap. but some have managed to gain momentum from such events in the market.

There's a lot of new and fresh coins in the market , so the old coins are now behind especially if it has no strong marketing strategy. But it doesn't mean that you can't but it and earn profit. Many old coins can still give you huge profit, depends on your strategy. If you want to buy old coins, just choose the best and with strong foundation in the market.

Every day,,, every hour in fact I think there are many new coins but these are again reminiscent of the old wild wild west days of ICO coins.

You can even pay a developer $5 per coin now I have seen packages of $50 for 15 new coins you can just throw on any DEX and try to see if anybody will even buy 1 of them,,, all fake of course but still people fall for it Smiley

I would only buy a coin where it has DeFi and NFT supported because crypto is moving very fast and a good project must support all such new features to be a good and successful coin.
And it can happen any time for us to see a new developmend being done after DeFi and NFT because many developers are currently building and researching.
New projects are more likely to support such future features.

~I think the worth of it buying is depending on your own research and perspective. If you believe that much to the said coin despite not shinning up on the bull run. As long as it is not an abandoned project, There's still a chance that it is worth holding. There are so many sleeping gems in the market and just waiting for further developments, Everything will depend on what you can see on the project and how's the team doing on it.
so it's not about old or new coins, but the potential of the project. old coins don't necessarily have good potential, neither do new coins, it all depends on the development of the project. One thing we need to understand is that before investing anything we must know the project more deeply, so that we have warning signs to determine the right timing to buy and sell.
it also determines whether we will make it a long-term investment, or just a hit and run, following the trend that is currently hype in the market. all have risks, so choose the one you can manage well.

Old coins are starting to be abandoned because investors are no longer interested in contributing there. I think DeFi and NFT are more promising, game-based NFT for example, this is very attractive to investors. maybe investors are starting to think that the world will switch to digital things in the near future, I mean the items they like to collect.

I agree investors will be much more interested in projects that promise profit, whereas some old coins don't promise anything right now. Even some of
the old coins team developers are no longer active and old coins like this will be abandoned by investors. Because competition in the crypto world is
very tough, it must be able to attract the attention of investors so that old coins can survive in the crypto world. Moreover, DeFi and NFT do promise
something much more interesting than old coins. So it is very natural that investors will look for projects that can provide them with greater benefits.
Only old coins are included in the top 10 cryptos that I think are still worth buying, because the old coins are included in the top 10 cryptos can still
provide benefits to their holders.

With all of the hype surrounding "De-Fi" and NFTs, it looks like old coins like Peercoin, Primecoin, and Quark have been left in the dust. This is sad, considering that the aforementioned coins have a proven track record of stability and reliability. New coins are usually less secure than old ones. Despite the low interest/demand for old coins, they're still actively traded on the market.

I'm wondering whenever it's worth buying and holding old coins for the long term. Primecoin is one of its kind with a PoW algorithm that contributes towards the discovery of prime numbers. It's a pity other crypto projects haven't copied its model. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

That would only be good if you're going to purchase those old coins which is worth for future spending. Choosing for the prospected one is too hard to do because entire cryptocurrency market was on downfall few weeks ago after such controversial situation of bitcoin, that affects all altcoins. Major pairings would tend to fall once there's a huge dumps.

Depending on what kind of coins, many coins were in consolidation, but with the hype, DeFi and NFT saw a new channel for development and began to develop there.
It doesn't depend on the kind of coins. The main point isn't about Cefi, Defi, or NFT but how good the fundamentals of the coin itself.
The fundamentals can be seen from some aspects such as the team members, its MVP, partnership, marketing strategy, development programs, community, or exchange plans. If we can see good progress on these aspects, we can expect about the old or new coins are good. But if no good progress on those aspects, we are better to ignore it even if it is an old coin.

Expect those things because whenever a new coin would pop out then the older ones would just simply be covered out and when theres a new trend where people do make focus on that instead and its no surprise that these good old coins will really be leaved in the dust. One thing that indicates that this one is still alive despite of being old is that there still people whom do trade with it which means there still community support on that.
If you do plan to engage on things like buying old coins then its your choice but who knows if these old projects will have some nasty
pump on next months or years to come?

I know many people say that "it all depends on the coin" but the reality is that old coins are for different investment and new coins are for different investment in my mind. If I am investing into an "old" coin which usually for me means at least 3 years or more, that means I am after steady income and not after a huge increase, I know from 2020 to 2021 we have made a great deal of profit with them but even at that point there were tons of new ones that profited more but ton of new coins that went to zero as well, there is a bigger risk involved with new coins whereas old ones are usually the ones we know, the bad ones are already gone, so the old ones that are left which are mostly in top 10-20 even top 50 are known ones and they go up with the market.

However when I invest into new ones, I invest with small amount and try to make a huge return from them, not a steady guaranteed income but either zero or 100x type of deal, so I put in very little amount.

Therefore, it is necessary to look at projects that have any plans for the future, to see what they want to do in the future.

Sad but true.
Even looking into other pictures like how businesses try too hard to be unique these days.
It'll never beat the good ol' fashion as always.
This is also the reason why I do not tread too much in coins that are below top 10 in CMC though I gotta be honest I only throw it all to BTC in the end anyway. Cheesy

The garbage of some is the treasure of others, people are carried away by fanaticism!
Be careful, because then reality comes, and as you mentioned, these coins are more stable and secure.
But the day that the new currencies fail, there are many possibilities that they will again enter mass adoption.

For now I would like those old coins to be even free and then buy some just in case...

Sometimes,  we are lost in our unrealistic expectations of the old dreams associated with old Cryptocurrency,  we must however be critical in our thinking and see things for what they are.  Many old coin have stopped developments years ago,  some old coin tech and directions are not applicable in the current market.  You just have to let the old dog lie!
- Seriously, many old coins are becoming quick money systems, they stop development activities and fall into the hands of wolves, whales, sometimes we still think they are as safe as in the past but their nature has changed from the inside and become the territory of bandits. These robbers are always sophisticated in their system settings, they're always ready to lead a few winners here and out to advertise, a chain reaction will occur and these robbers will collect a large amount of money from the people who come here, pay attention to old projects that have stopped working when investing

Like you said earlier that old coins are reliable and stable but new coins can be risky for a long term hold . if we have passion for old coins there are better older coins that we can choose than the three coins in your subject .

Why will they copy it . That will be plagiarized but they every coin needs to come up with a new idea for them to get an attention . New coins now are crafted with less effort than the old coins , it's why old coins are the best

Ethereum can be considered old coin. I think it is worth, new or old as long we really know how the coin was. Because there are some old coins too which already dead of left by it's developer. If me i am not look at the age (although age is important too because we can see the coins still survived or not) but mainly i better to look on it's volume in coinmarketcap.

It depends on the old coins, but if the old coin doesn't compete with the latest innovation and trend in the market, these coin will definitely begin to die, how sad that so many good coin now are going to die because many of their community shift to the latest innovation and want a real passive income.

This coins you mentioned are really old coins which people hardly talked about, and you know how it is in crypto,  once attention of people has shifted from a project, it means less investors and possibly less volume and which can result to slowly decrease the activity and then finally fade away.
If people are still trading this coins that is surprising because buying such coins will be very risky compare to all the projects in the market.
