Now old coins are not worthy as like new ones. Some old coins are still worthy like, Ethereum, BNB, Doge, XRP because they are active people are getting updates and news about those coins that's why these are still worthy. But other old coins now have become inactive that's why nobody is investing and they are not worthy now.

I agree with you, especially if we talk about DASH...I believe this coin will hit its ATH once again or at least a half, 700 or 800$ will not be a hard think for dash
I like dash and it's one of the most liked masternodes and privacy coins that we've ever got. The ATH wasn't met again when we have entered the bull run. But it's not that late as this coin is still one of the top coins. This is more desirable rather than choosing a new pump and dump altcoin that's being made by developers and goes with the meme. It's still better to choose the old coins that has been circulating in the market for years. If you ever have a trust issue with the altcoins that you invest, this is better to choose than the newer ones.

Yes old coins are worth it and If you are going to pick old coins for your next investment,  find something that has an active community with people that talk about its development, something  that people use not only as a store of value, it has to have a way it grows in value for example it could be the fuel for a blockchain, it might give you voting rights, anything in those lines you should be good to go.

There are still a lot of old coins that are still good and if we want to keep some old coins of course the risk is a little and even though there are developments such as NFT and DEFI, of course, old coins will also develop following developments that occur, so there is no harm if we keep saving old coins for now.

Buying old coins for the sake of it is not a good way to go about investments. The truth is, even with all the Defi craze, its only the most exclusive projects that see huge success, so it doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things if you invest in a new type of coin or an old coin
What matters is the quality of the project

With all of the hype surrounding "De-Fi" and NFTs, it looks like old coins like Peercoin, Primecoin, and Quark have been left in the dust. This is sad, considering that the aforementioned coins have a proven track record of stability and reliability. New coins are usually less secure than old ones. Despite the low interest/demand for old coins, they're still actively traded on the market.

I'm wondering whenever it's worth buying and holding old coins for the long term. Primecoin is one of its kind with a PoW algorithm that contributes towards the discovery of prime numbers. It's a pity other crypto projects haven't copied its model. Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Smiley

I also regularly monitor the old coins on the Coinmarketcap list, and I am looking forward to investing in them. But unfortunately the developer has abandoned the coin, so there is no progress whatsoever. Only a few exchanges have listed the coin, so we can't move to an exchange that we use frequently.
if the case has been abandoned by the developer. it will end badly. although there is usually a change of position with someone else if the new person holds it will usually make changes from the project planning developed.
if there is already a greater risk it's better to look for another project, there are many other projects that are better with less risk I'm sure.

I will not choose antique coins.  Lol, I'm not the artistic and classical type.  I like creativity and novelty.  I wouldn't buy a wagon versus a modern car.  Lol, I like modern day NFTgame projects like PYR, Sand

You do not  just buy old coins because they have succeeded in the past. There are a lot of old coins that succeeded but are now stagnant because the team have abandoned the project. Try to research coins that the team are actively updating and innovating. It's not all old coins that are worth buying.
What is certain is that before buying we have to do our own research and analysis.
and whether old coins or new coins I think it's worth buying and of course it depends on the results of research and analysis

I think so. Despite the fact that they look overwhelmed and ponderous, the last bull run showed that even these coins show excellent profits during the global growth.
Therefore, choose coins that meet modern standards and have fewer competitors in their field.

Old coin you said, it depends on the coin which you are referring to, their are some old coins out there which has no future any more, why there are others which are also a good choice of investment, you just have to make your research before making your choice. On like me I bought an old coin which I earned during bounty years back. Late last year I bought the token and it's currently 2$ as of the time of this comment.

Still you can't ignore a lot of old altcoins those are strong fundamental. And also team's are so active to upgrade with new technology. Without a few coins mostly oldest coins will not up and down like new coins, So investors are desperately going to pick new ido, launched projects to make profit 5x,10x like that.

In such case investors who wanted for a quick ride will choose initial offering projects while conservative investors

will continue to buy old coins that have solid foundations, they are aware that even in a small profits is better than

being stuck and loss their investment for buying new tokens.

Actually I would say, before thinking of going this route of investing or buying old coins, you will need to understand the type of old coin you want and your speculation about it , thus I am in agreement with your first paragraph. Crypto most of the times moves with trend, and this is key to the growth of most coins we see today, and funny enough only newer coins tend to tap into most the trend at that point in time, hence why it looks like old coins like the one mentioned have been forgotten.
Therefore the reason why I started with, understanding the old coin you want to buy is to know if the team of that coin are a flexible kind, who can try their best to incorporate what is happening in the crypto space at that point, if the team are then it's worth buying.
BNB is a coin whose team are always ready to try new things, hence the reason it is still relevant and bigger than most old coins. Every team needs to understand this, add their unique features and see their token regaining its worth overtime.
In this case I would think that there is a good chance old coins could take advantage of the new technologies as well, depending on the coin. Of course there are horrible coins that went lower and lower over time, but at the same time we had better and better improvements on some of the old coins as well.

Look at BNB for example, with emergence of DeFi world, they applied it right away and had BSC which allowed them to take advantage of all the profits from it, making BNB go from under 30 dollars to nearly 700 dollars one point and still 10x more than what it used to be. It is not a new coin at all and still managed to go up in the end.

There were also a lot of coins that were brand new and yet failed to garner any attention at all. All of which shows us that it is not about being new or old, it is about being able to adapt to whatever is the big deal of that period.

We need new circle and new stories old coins going to die. Just few of them will be survive after next bear session. I am trying to invest some GEMs because if i split my money to 10 gems even 1 gem succes, my total portfolio will be better than investing old coins

Very feasible, not to weigh the old coins left by investors, precisely those old ones are coins with strong fundamentals. they can survive earthquakes several times that are experienced in the cryptocurrency world. they are well worth investing in.
buy it of course very worth it. but each asset has a different market character. some are better for day trading some are good for long-term investment.
all will be returned to the initial planning of the OP who wants to invest long-term or do day trading.
everything can be adjusted also with your own expertise. if we are better at trading skills I think we can try new coins with good hype. Old coins also exist that have that potential. but most new coins are very energetic for short trades.
but after all, old assets in the crypto market are assets that have really survived with such a long development project. I'm sure it must be very safe.

I think "old" coin sounds a little bit like the wrong wording. It somehow negatively connotes the fact that a coin has been around for a while, but that is actually a good thing. I wouldn't say it is old then. Rather say a long established coin or anything else that rather refers to the fact that it is not a pump and dump coin which is just old and not worth anything anymore.

Right now? I don't think maybe if they can managed to go in BSC or probably a more better update they could be worth it, with the NFT, Memecoin, and DeFi the old projects was overshadowed by them I think they need to make a step in order to compete with this new projects, some old projects have a really live projects unlike this kind of trends we have now.

I think that not all old coins appreciate in value but if you want to choose coin you should select those coin which has secure and strong built foundation such as Solana and Dot. The value of various coins fluctuate in response of currency value. Some of old coins can be good for buying and making investment. But not all are true for buying.
