bitcoin can't help an entire country, but can help individuals...and those individuals may be willing to help their country to grow economically and aid development
Yes i agree with you that bitcoin can surely help some particular individuals who are ready to work for it and use bitcoin as a currency like it has already helped many users,me included as well but i dont see how bitcoin can help an entire poor countries.

reading some of the comments in this topic i have got the feeling that some people think bitcoin is like magic beans or something that you can use to reach a magical world!!!

it is just money and it helps individuals get rid of the centralized banking system and all the negativity that comes with that system.

While reading your statement I all of a sudden smiled, actually, I agreed with you bitcoin is not like a magic beans in the dragon ball were it can heal the wounds quickly. I do believe that there's no such thing in shortcut if we want to pass through the poverty. It will need a big effort into it.

Can Bitcoin or any other altcoin help poor countries?
how? what can be done?

Even bitcoin have a capacity to help the poor country, if the poor people in that nation is not open into bitcoin and didn't see the good things about it, I think it will be useless only.

I think bitcoin can help poor countries because poor countries have so many corruption and bitcoin can reduce corruption.government are corrupted so using bitcoin people can identified where government using their money.

Bitcoin can't reduce the corruption since the corruption (governments) itself will make sure Bitcoin stays outside. They won't let Bitcoin gain ground till a level where it is infront of the government's door. They will act before that.

Government will ban bitcoin if it can goes against corruption, it's sad but it's true.
Btw people just don't care about it, otherwise they will be already on the floor Wink
No, Bitcoin can't stop corruption or even just reduce it. We have a real life example, drugs that get you high are illegal in certain countries yet why is there still corruption? Even though they can't stop the circulation of illegal drugs what they just do won't produce anything related to corruption as there are other ways for the government to have money like taxes. What we can do to prevent corruption is the transparency of projects in real time.

I think it would be very difficult. because apda bitcoin was essentially the same as other currencies .. and if the country wants to go forward, they also need to have good governance, no corruption, and so on..

nice idea, but if the  government sends money to an address and tells you that this address belongs to a hospital, you still will have a hard time to find out if this is true or if this address belongs to a criminal friend.

I think very excessive if there is said that bitcoin can help the poor countries. bitcoin it will be very helpful someone who is poor, but not for the state therefore it is very difficult
What do you mean it is not helpful for the state? Bitcoin can create some kind of help for poor countries, but it won't happen on its own and someone needs to start for everyone else to follow.
If they will be educated with bitcoin, certainly it would help them. Most of the people in poor countries are going abroad to work so when they will earn money they will send the money back to their family, that transaction that will happen involves a high cost remittance, with bitcoin problem solved as we can transact very cheap.
nice input mate yes that particular option can help third world country 5-20$ savings is already big for their family bitcoin is a good and cheap alternate ways if they only learned how to use it and transact with it.

And for sure it can save time too, you don't need to go to a bank to make the deposit.
Time is money Wink
In the future we will see few people working on banks since it all will become something digital(btc or not).

I dont think so but it can help poor people that can have atleast an extra income but not the country itself. You only need is a phone and a data. You dont need to invest coz you can earn btc without investing.
When a citizen gets his life improved by using bitcoin, a country will definitely get benefits of it. One simple reason must be due to per capita improvement.

Bitcoin has all the potential to offer many different way of earning opportunities that too without any initial investments. Bitcoin could help poor countries in many practical ways, lets wait those to happen like bitcoin bringing revolution to this world.
Yes, a country is nothing but its citizens. Innovating new business for bitcoin ecosystem will help any countryman could bring new lifestyle to his folks.
I too do see, lot of opportunities to innovate new business based on bitcoin system that may result in supporting many lives. Other than this, simple freelancing way of earning will definitely help any poor country citizen.
When a country is suffering due to its economical collapse, instead of going with USD or gold, may prefer to go with bitcoin payment system as their reserve money that will help in many ways like we have seen and discussed when Greece had similar collapse and situations.

Yeah I do not think that it would be possible for bitcoin to be helping whole countries because if the countries cannot even help themselves then how is Bitcoin going to do it.
I do think that it is possible for Bitcoin to help parts of the countries.
Bitcoin on its own can't do anything. People have to start up Bitcoin related services and companies to at least make some sort of usage possible.

Without this, nothing will happen for the people there. And that aside, it will turn out to be helpful only for a certain group of people, and not an entire country. That's simply impossible.
