Gambling can affect one's relationship depending on the kind of partner he has and how disciplined he is in his gamble dealings. For instance, of the partner of the person in question does see gambling as a vice that's to dangerous for anyone to get involved in, she'll definitely not want her man to gamble and would quit if she finds out that her man is doing it behind her back. Also if a man isn't disciplined and controlling his gambling habits, he's likely to end up as a gambling addict which in return poses a big threat to his relationship life.

Denial is also a mechanism that helps them settle.  But this will not prevent the relationship from crumbling when everything is already affected. Usually, it is money that breaks apart relationships. Even in the absence of gambling addiction, family crumbles when money is not coming in, and it will be worse when there is a reason to blame each other like one is addicted to gambling.  The worst thing that could happen is losing custody of the kids since this is also ruining the lives of the kids.

Like you said gambling might not break a marriage but it can contribute to divorce, especially when addiction is prevalent. Most women don't really care about the gambling life of their spouse especially if it doesn't affect the family's financial standings negatively. I can not sacrifice my relationship because of gambling. The loss of children's custody can lead to serious depression. I rather leave gambling than lose my family. I don't usually blame some spouses for their decision to force their partners to give up gambling because some people engage in what I call crazy bets. They lose their sense of reasoning and don't care about the consequences of their actions.  Some people cannot stand the disgrace of loans and credit repayment defaults because of their partner's uncontrollable betting life.

I totally agree to this. I have personally witnessed several wives who have been just looked totally fine with how addicted their husbands to gambling simply because they have enough money to feed the entire family and they are still able to buy their luxuries.
Gambling itself may not be the primary reason for a family to be broken, it's most probably just being 2nd to money.
I've also seen a lot of marital separations due to unemployment of the husband more than being a gambler.
But it could be the worst if someone who is broke and still managed to gamble lol.

Yes, Gambling addiction has strained a lot of relationships through financial instabilities emotional turmoil, social isolation, and family problems. Gambling which was meant to be a popular kind of entertainment for many and was designed to provide a temporary escape from everyday life and also help one to be more observant mentally task your brain and it is also good for your mental brain. When it becomes an addiction it causes financial strain the strain can manifest in various ways including the loss of shared savings, debt accumulation, and financial secrecy which may lead to strained communication between partners. This communication breakdown can prevent couples, friends, and associates from working together.

Gambling should never be that big a part of your life that it starts to over spill into things like your relationship with other people. If someone else perceives you have a problem, then it's possible you've taken things too far and may be facing a state of denial. At that point, even if you don't believe it to be true, then maybe it is fair to cut out gambling for a month and see how it mentally affects you. If you're able to cut it off and not give it a second thought during that time, then you should be ok. If you find yourself drawn back into it immediately, they probably have a point. You should then start to evaluate if you want to continue on the route of gambling or whether your relationship is more valuable, because eventually they will get fed up and leave.
That is a nice experiment to run to see how dependent a person has become on gambling, however this is rarely done by those that needed it the most, and this is because they are in denial they have a problem and they always think of themselves as being in control of the situation and being able to quit whenever they want, but they never really put their supposed ability to quit whenever they want to test, as deep down they know they are lying and they do not want to accept the truth.
Addicted gamblers are really that having those kind of denials in regarding on the things that they've been dealing with on which it would really be just that so normal that they would really be telling that they are still in good control on what they are doing or simply into their gambling activity but the fact and obviously can be seen on the things that happening to him then its impossible for someone not to be able to differentiate in between normal behavior and an addicted behavior on which this is something that you would really be that able to observe basing up on the actions that had been made.
This is why we should really be that careful on dealing with gambling because it is really that so hard to get out once you do get yourself on such addiction. If you could really be able to stop mid way on the time that you do have those consecutive losses or simply doesnt really chase up your losses then this is the time that i would say that you arent that addicted since you do really have that good
control towards yourself on which this is where most people do really fail on doing so. If you are really just that mindful about those possible future events or things to happen or consequences that might happen then you would really be acting out on things which are right.

Blaming gambling in whatever defects you have in your relationship is like trying to blame a person for your misfortune, I believe we should have control over anything we do, don't allow yourself to be a victim of circumstance just be mindful of yourself and be responsible for any action you take, if you give much of your attention to gambling it might distract you and cause you more expenses but you should be blamed not gambling itself, because you went for it uncontrollably.

Depending on what idea this gambling will activity will affect each and every relationship, but what's really disturbing was the issues with couples. Friendship and other associated with gambling came from their respective influences. More friends who brought you to the habits will always mold you to be more addicted with gambling, however an addict with gambling will be out of tolerance once they fight with conflict on money owing each other with huge amount that cannot he settled.

Any addiction would affect relationship.
All sorts of addiction would consume your time, attention and money so of course it would greatly affect your relationship.
Even if those who are addicted would explain it there are some who wouldn't even understand it.

There are several things that excessive gambling could result in and this could happen when you have taken gambling to the level of addiction, where you have more of your time and attention put into things about gambling than the attention you pay to your relationship and even to the notice of your partner. This does not only happen with gambling but also with traders who spend more of their time analyzing the chart and trading the market and at the end of the day without spending quality time with loved ones, mostly the day- traders.

Some people are still young but can think maturely because I have met them several times. They are still under 18, but their thoughts and actions are mature, so people mistakenly think they are over 18. So if they can act maturely and treat everything well, they will not exceed their limits, especially if it is gambling.

Yes, there are, but we very rarely see them and they are not the ones who are great because they are able to act and think maturely even though they are still relatively young. And I say once again they are not the great ones.! However, it is the parents who are great because they are able to provide and develop their children so that they can behave and tthink like that and that is where the role of parents is very necessary to ensure that their children's growth and development goes well.
Indeed, they are not great, but if we compare them with their peers, they are already great because they have more ideas than other friends. And parents indeed teach their children ways to develop their children's understanding and thinking skills. They can teach what their children need and ensure their children's growth and development are good.

People who are mature enough, especially those who have dependents, namely family, should be able to think more clearly when gambling because if we talk about experience, of course they are already more experienced in the world of gambling because gambling is not something new but has been around for some time. a hundred years ago
If they gamble without responsibility, they will not be able to think about their family because all they want is to chase wins. They should not get involved in gambling because it will not give them daily wins. Those who can think more clearly will try to leave gambling for the sake of their family because it could impact their relationship with their family.

Of course, every time we gamble, we have to involve our emotions in it because if not, the gambling game we play will feel empty. However, despite this, it is true that we have to control these emotions to prevent big losses in gambling.
It's okay to gamble with emotions involved, but we have to really be able to control those emotions. Most gamblers will lose control of their emotions when they gamble, which will be indicated by whatever results they get. Whether they win or lose, their emotions will increase, and if they lose control, they will become even more eager to win. But there was only more loss.

few relationships will be damaged by gambling. Yes, this is because one of the two really loves their partner. I'm sure the partner will think "maybe he will change, maybe he will stop soon" in the end he will accompany his partner, unless it is really detrimental to his partner and also him. it makes perfect sense for the relationship to end, because it would have been a bad relationship if it continued.

And what the OP said in his thread is, gambling affects our relationships as gamblers. he explains the impacts and complaints of the negative side of gambling, which can damage a relationship with a partner. whether it causes financial tension, loss of joint savings, accumulation of debt and so on. I think there are quite a few people who experience gambling problems which have an impact on their relationship as a couple. In fact, quite a few end in separation.
Honestly, I will not close my eyes to the impacts caused by irresponsible gambling. that in fact, such phenomena often occur in the wider community.

Refers to what you say, if as a couple you love each other. Maybe, there is an urge that makes the gambler change. The point is, so as not to become dependent on excessive activity which ultimately leads to addiction. I won't deny some of the points you said, there are many people who change because of their partner. and that actually happens a lot.  and therefore also, someone who loves gambling activities like me. really need knowledge, knowledge in everything. whether it's understanding, self-control, discipline and responsibility.

If I look at my life and my friends' lives, I say yes, some of us who gamble might lie to our partners to avoid an argument or cover it up.
so I think it's true that gambling can disrupt relationships.
but if some couples are willing to discuss it and find a way out of this addiction maybe they will be fine.
The key to a relationship is communication.

It's true, too much of anything can make things bad.
Emotions that make the relationship with your partner strained can also occur.
but some couples want to understand and understand their partner's condition, they may remind them to reduce things slowly, rather than scolding them or fighting with their partner, and I think this is quite effective to do.

Yes, Gambling addiction has strained a lot of relationships through financial instabilities emotional turmoil, social isolation, and family problems.
Any activity that you do that interferes with your relationship with your family or those closest to you is included in the category of addiction, so in fact it is not only gambling addiction that can damage relationships but also other addictions.
If you can still control yourself well then it will not be possible for gambling to damage your relationship, because everything is done with good control, when to play, how long to spend playing, including the money spent on gambling. However, if you talk about self-control, it's just a theory, but it can be done even though it's difficult.
Relationships fail when there is an abuse on a certain course of action. Regardless if it’s gambling or not, as long as you lost your self-control and discipline towards it, your relationship will always be put at risk. Most especially when it comes to gambling addiction, wherein the husband crosses his limits in gambling to the extent of spending even their life savings or selling their properties, then it’s expected that the spouse will develop hatred towards his husband and leave him because of that. When that happens, we can conclude that gambling addiction is certainly a big threat when it comes to marital relationships.

Most of the time, when a certain limits already being exceeded understanding is being breakout as well, I think if you still have that
self-control the chance still good.

But once you are out of control, things change up and the more you push yourself into this kind of situation, the more it will get worse, I guess
relationship is being tested as gambler needs to work out if how they value their partners.

If respect and value still have that weight, gambling problem can be solved or can be avoided, just for my personal take though.

And we also need to understand the meaning of maturity, because many people understand this only in broad terms, which can be called an adult when they are 18+ or married, but the measure of maturity is not just age and status. . However, the measure of a person's maturity is more about maturity in thinking and acting.

Moreover, when we are married, where we cannot carry out gambling activities, this becomes our priority activity, because there are things that are more important than that.

Apart from that, before someone actually decides to gamble or enter into a relationship, in my opinion the measure is not only about maturity but it also includes whether or not we are able to do that.
Some people are still young but can think maturely because I have met them several times. once there is an element of addiction especially when you make it a source of income,  then its going to affect your relationship because you will need to make ends meet and ensure you fulfill all responsibilities but once you cant do this as a result of not making enough money as expected. relationships are highly important and valuable which means you dont want anything that can spoil it in any form. this means you will gamble responsibly and also follow the money management rules.

Yes, certainly if one develops gambling addiction it will negatively affect your relationship towards your family, friends, and colleagues. Simply, if you have an addiction, you tend to manifest unhealthy behaviors that might harm yourself and others. Most gambling addicts isolate themselves and doesn't want any social interactions. In which can clearly affect your relationship to others, because interaction and communication are key factors in building healthy relationships with others. Addiction can also badly affect your relationship with your partner and children. Because one of the impacts of having an addiction is financial burden, there are cases where their couple cannot endure this kind of behavior which leads them to separation. This is sad to think but is happening in real life. So, I think it's much better that we know how to monitor ourselves, if we think that we are slowly developing an addiction, it's better to stop it immediately before everything gets too bad.
