I’m sure there have been plenty of people who have outgrown gambling. It all depends on your personal situation though. From my observations the people who gamble the most are retirees. They have excess income to burn most of the time and plenty of time to do it. So I think it depends more on your situation with time and money than your age.
That's very correct. Money is very important and determines if the person should gamble or not, and the time too, but we should not forget health; it's not common among advanced people, but in this part of this world, a lot of those old people do have some health challenges, which they tend to focus on, and the health situation can also determine if they are fit for gambling or not, as they might be advised to stay away from it and focus on other recreational activities if they must find something to have fun with.

Regardless there should be a limit to everything and there should also be an age a gambler should say it ok, if he's aging, though I have seen some elderly people who are still involved in gambling even at Old age, and can't tell what they're still doing if it's for fun or still looking for opportunities to hit jackpots at that age if they didn't had that chance at youthful age, and doubt if they're going to make the money that they're looking at that age , However, everything balls down to being something of a personal decision to decide to stop gambling.

Our likes and dislikes changes as we grow older. We like more simple things and with gambling, do you think that when you get older you'll start to dislike it?
Maybe, maybe not.
It varies on how sociable you are and you find better company to do other things other than gambling. I see the elders mostly at parks, malls and just do stuff that they enjoy.

Sport not as gambling, if you want to stay healthy from involving in sports, it should be done with a motive of exercise and not the one whereby you gamble and even have your emotions troubled, gambling can ruin someone at some point and can aswell cause them some form of financial set backs too so you cannot capitalize on such for a continues engagement and tag it for health reasons, there are more engaging activities that can be done at Old age for health reasons that can still improve the health and the ages can still stay very much healthy.
Yes of course there are activities that in old age turn out to be very good, I know that there is something in particular that we men should do so that it does not affect us in old age, as we age our muscle mass decreases, it is important that when we are older, we do not Stop going to the gym, it is important that we maintain the gym so that the muscle mass is maintained and we have more strength, therefore there will be more stability and thus the motor functions do not decrease with the passage of time, which for me is one of the things that most affect.

One thing I have experienced in life and aging is that, the older we get the more selfish we become, so for that, we can't compare the risk tendency of a youth to that of an older man, because as you said priorities may have changed by that time, a young guy can still risk all his cash reserve on gambling and he won't care if he lose it all, but an older man won't take such step without thinking twice.
What makes the difference so much is the responsibility, she not as if the older guys doesn't have the motivation to gamble, but the truth is how much leftover funds will ye have after paying bills and catering for the entire family.

I see it's the ageing,the older one gets the less the interest to gamble and participate in several activities.Considering this season now;the younger ones are most likely interested and obsessed with gambling,and the older ones are just trying to figure out which path to take out of the gambling space.The experiences they had from young age through adulthood is what keeps them intact or separated.

When you start getting older, another thing that makes someone stop gambling is because they no longer like things that are too risky because something that is too risky can increase adrenaline, while when you are old you want something calmer or more peaceful, but I see many people who continue to gamble when they are old, maybe because they gamble for fun or it is a time when they can hang out with friends because the gambling they do will not affect their finances which are already stable and they gamble with money that they can afford to lose.

Actually, I think gambling becomes more attractive while you are aging. When your kids are grown ups and have families of their own, your responsibilities are much lower than before. Of course you can always spend your money on some gifts to your grandchildren or even on your kids even when they are grown ups instead of gambling the money away. But you definitely have more right to put your money at risk when no one is depending on you. So, I personally don't think that I will stop gambling when I become a granddad.
But even so, I myself will not take advantage of this for myself to be more free to gamble, maybe for those of you who will choose to still gamble even though you are old, but for me it's better not to gamble anymore. Someone who is old of course they should be able to spend time enjoying it, it is not recommended when they are elderly but still work to make money, it's just that there are also people who are old by enjoying the rest of their lives by working or gambling. That is a choice from ourselves, just don't let us choose something that can endanger ourselves in the future.

But overall I might also say that in any situation gambling is a choice, meaning regardless of whether you are old or young, or regardless of whether you have dependents in life or not, it will not be a problem if you really want to get involved in gambling, the point is the most important thing is you must know and be aware that gambling is risky and also know about how to treat gambling correctly and appropriately.

I don't think age has much to do with gambling. You might lose interest even at a young age, or start gambling when people already call you 'grandpa.' It depends more on your financial goals and family responsibilities. For some, losing gambling friends might lead to switching activities, as the joy often comes from playing together, not alone. The reason why most persons stop gambling while aging is because of financial security which I mentioned earlier about taking responsibilities, being focused on their family, retirement, and other life goals which gambling may not be important at this stage of life.

We have seen that in most cases the changes that happens to someone in regards to what they normally hold dear is sometimes caused by age and this is not theory because I have seen it, actually were I come from is mostly dominated by people who love football and I no of a man who doesn't joke with following up matches and gambling but as he continues ageing that was how his zeel continues to drop and if you haven't known him before you would hardly agree that he was a serious football gambler because age has made him changed some of the things he likes doing, though there are also older people who still loves gambling but the point is that age is the major thing that can make someone to stop gambling because the pleasure will no longer be there. The interest of the person changes all the time. You probably notice this to yourself as well when you find out something is also fun to do.
What old men do when they are in the age where they want attention is to check out their grandsons and maybe spend time with them.
Old men even want their daughters to marry already just to have more kids. Its human nature to ask attention all the more from their grandsons and daughters.

It is true, and well although our DNA is not nor has in its information to age, we can do certain activities so that we can be better and younger, some functions can be increased more like intelligence, an older person who prepares himself mentally will stay older, in this case things can be quite good because sport helps us to be younger and stay in shape, it should be done, this is for health, but when our capacities decrease like the physical ones we must adapt, we cannot abuse.
Usually, old people will still do their activities but not too busy as they realize that their performance is change than they are younger. They can still placing their bet and they should be wise than they are younger as they have much experience that will helps them to decide. But it is better they limits their gambling activity as when they are getting older will decrease some functions of their body and makes them lose something from their physical. If you know that you are only doing this for leisure purposes, and you are not having burden with the money spent on this activity, then, I believe you can do this activity as long as you can. And as you said, if the person has other things to attend to like doing other worthwhile activities , then it is his prerogative to do so. So long when you reach at that stage, you are already enjoying at what you do and not because someone is pressuring you to do such task.

Age is not actually the only reason someone stops gambling, in fact many middle and upper class parents try to entertain themselves and have fun in gambling because they are lonely, their children rarely see them because they have their own lives and finally their pension money is used for gambling, but if they want to stop there must be another reason that makes them want to stop such as finances that are just enough for daily needs so they are forced to stop.

I think you have said everything about the reasons why gamblers prefer to stop gambling when they get old, financial balance is the most important and that is the main reason they stop so that their finances remain balanced considering that old age is a time when you are no longer able to work to earn money like when you were young, all of that is done because there is also responsibility.
On the other hand, I might also be able to add another reason that the mindset of someone who has reached old age is also very likely to change, usually they will stop an activity or habit if it does not have a positive impact, old age is an age where a person's mindset is very mature.

I think it has much to do with the way people of certain age start to view money, in a different way people way younger does. For example, young people seek to win money, hit a jackpot or win the lottery for the sake of all the plans and adventures they wish to have with the relatively long time they have left. On the other hand, elderly have growtn pretty much aware no money can buy them more time, and instead investing their time left at the local casinos, they choose to spend it with their family and friend, with the money they have left in their bank account.
