Hi, i have backupped my pvkeys on an usb stick. I wrote it also down on a piece of paper. My computer broke. I put a metal pin through the harddrives. I will not buy a new pc soon. So i wont check in on myetherwallet for some time. I cant click on phishing links. My question is : are my funds safe? Can myetherwallet get hacked? Can my funds dissapear even when i have no computer, hid my keys? Im to stupid to work with a ledger or trezor. Can something happen to it like with the parity/kill?
You're funds are safely stored in blockchain and secured by etherwallet. If no one will knew your private keys, still, you are safe. There maybe about 1% chance, but 99% no chance. Your private key is very long, and you said, your computer broke, and dont visit any phising sites. Goodluck.

The most important thing is not to shine anywhere with your private key from your wallet. If you do not light it anywhere, you can sleep peacefully. Basically, people lose their money because of phishing sites, which they go to and they enter their private key from the wallet. After that, all the funds from their wallet disappear.

I think this is quite safe with your wallet if you do not lose your USB or paper with your private key.

That depends on whether we are effective or careless in taking care of out myetherwallet credentials. Of course, myetherewallet is a successful website that caters to the needs of it's clients and that include maintaining a secure website. So, it's all up to us now on whether we are able to maintain the security of our own accounts.

Yes absolutely, but you can avoid the situation by being careful, do not click suspicious links and place your private key at a safe place.

If you'll not click some phishing links then you are safe from intruders that will get your private keys. Try to add some more security, encrypting data's, there's no way for you to hack if you will not connect to the internet not unless someone will stole all of those back ups you've made. Others are commenting base on the question on the title and isn't reading what's the whole context really is.

Yes of course your ether wallet can be hacked, anything can be hacked nowadays. The only way to prevent this is to store all your private keys in a place where the only one knows is you, and you should be careful about clicking ads and sites because they might be phising sites.

MyEtherWallet wallet is a fairly reliable purse and it is very difficult to crack. It is protected by a fairly reliable digital password, available in a digital key. In this situation, really, once again, you should not go to the wallet using a secret key, but use etherscan. io to view the contents of the wallet without entering into it.

I would say fairly isn't quite fair. If the users of Myetherwallet used proper safety and security procedures, then in essence their MEW can never be hacked. The private keys generated when you open a wallet there are actually very strong. It's virtually impossible for people to hack directly through brute force.

But yes good advice, if you only need to check balance, always use block explorer. Etherscan gives a good breakdown of every ether and token owned in the same address, so no need to go further.

I think MyetherWalllet still secure but I everyone said Myetherwallet can be hacked. But atm myetherwallet still safe to store your ethereum or ethereum token unless your private key is being stolen by someone and that person can open and transfer all your funds there easly. So, don't lose your private key.

Myetherwallet is safe to use and is being used by many.  Just be careful of phishing MEW sites, there are plenty of them.  I have seen many of the phishing sites being promoted in Slack messages.  Bookmark MEW and keep your private keys safe and you should be fine.

I think there is a small chance of being hacked however the company will have something in place in the event of a hack happening. I have a MyEtherwallet and it works great. I'm not worried for you.

Make sure that the usb stick has an encrypted drive option, also make sure that the file that contains your private key is also encrypted.
Basically an encrypted file, inside an encrypted usb stick should be safe. Just don't lose the 2 passwords for the file and usb stick  Grin Grin Grin

If you expose your private key to a hackers it means your myetherwallet can be hacked and that is why you should be careful how you will keep them. Many hackers has a lot of strategies they used in hack people wallets and most time it happens when they get access into your account. Private keys is your power and you should keep them very saved and your coin is also save in my wallets.

No, unless someone else found your backup and use it. The only way your account can be accessed is through your private keys, just keep it safe and you will be okay.

Everything in the internet can be hacked, although myetherwallet I think has a very good security features that ensures that it will be very difficult for any hackers to get through. I suggest to make extra precautions with your private key, do not post it somewhere, refrain from visiting notorious and suspicious sites to avoid getting malwares and virusses. Most importantly if possible,do not use rented computers when visiting your account or if not just make sure to logout and erase browsing history.
