We can't give an exact statment about this.Maybe altcoins can become a threat to Bitcoin's existence or may be not.Crypto market is very unpredictable. So we can't say what will exactly happen in the future. Many coin's are available in the market but still Bitcoin is dominant of all.We are observing that many coin's are growing on a decent rate so maybe in future some other coin overpower Bitcoin. But I feel that it will never happen. Bitcoin will always lead the cryptocurrency market.

in my opinion, with the many new altcoins appearing, it will be better. because with the ico project, means that cryptocurrency will become increasingly popular, and people will be very confident that bitcoin has a bright future.

Can these new launching Altcoin's make a negative impact on bitcoin's expansion in the future because we all know in order to increase the demand, usability and accessibility of bitcoin it should be widely use in most business areas but if Altcoin's take these opportunities how it can achieve its vision to become a widely used digital currency
The only negative impact will be the negative reputation they will give to cryptocurrency in general. When this altcoins turns out to be scams it gives a bad impression towards Crypto. Bitcoin will always be king that no shitcoin can over thrown. Bitcoin will dominate the crypto market and it's dominate will increase with time because many will realise their mistake of choosing shitcoin (that scam them) over bitcoin and mend their ways.

The altcoins have a long tradition in the Bitcoin community, but tend to cause a controversy between those who think they are useful and those who think they're all scams. One view is what keeps Daniel Krawisz, of Satoshi Nakamoto Institute, who argues that altcoins have no chance of success and distract potential users of Bitcoin, while on the other extreme are many supporters ethereum, ensuring that platforms like Bitcoin and ethereum can work together.

No, the more they are created, the more their value is reduced. Very few really good projects that can somehow improve the world. Therefore, at the moment bitcoin has no competitors.

No but it is the opposite because this altcoins are really helpful for the crypto market to be lively that includes other crypto as well. When one new altcoin introduce to the market it will be paired for trading depending on its platform (usually ERC20). The trading pair will act as a receiver for when an investors will going to pull out his/her investment on that coin. Literally Ethereum is one alternative coin for bitcoin whatever good it may had it will reflect also to bitcoin.

It is difficult to count how many coins there are. But none of them will be able to surpass bitcoin, because all these ideas can no longer be unique, since bitcoin was created first.

In my concept the market is for bitcoin and nothing more.because it is still costly and worthy than other altcoins.bitcoin will master every transaction.so altcoin's can not bitcoin's existence it will be very difficult to shift it.

Altcoins now really appears just a huge amount. But are they all promising? Of course not. Among these projects, only a few are worthy of our attention.

I don't see any reason they will be a threat to btc in any way, the sky is wide enough for all birds to fly, likewise for crypto and since many are coming out everyday we have not see any effect of negative to the market but improvement.

The only major issue is the scam aspect of it is what we all should look out for on how we can stop it and let the crypto be known for good name not this scam and hack of a thing.

Approximately, those altcoins has design into specific product and bitcoin don't need a product to build a demand since itself is already a mainstream. We already have thousands of altcoins and it's still counting, do you think that bitcoin demand affect those? It didn't. And it obviously happen the other way around, when bitcoin fall, altcoins fall harder. Bitcoin surge, altcoin left hanging. See?

But what will be second good coin ?

Bitcoin cash? Litecoin ? Ripple ? Ethereum ?
Kindly exclude bch, for everyone's sake.

None of the altcoin can serve as a threat to bitcoin because majority of them are created to serve a certain purposes or project and its good to have many of them it will bring a healthy competition in the market however there are a lot of duplications among the coins thus making a lot of them worthless and irrelevant.

i think no, many altcoin is not affected bitcoin anymore, but bitcoin is affect all altcoin and other cryptocurrency, if bitcoin down the altcoin price is down and if bitcoin price is up the price of altcoin and cryptocurrency is up too, so bitcoin is affecting the altcoin price not the altcoin affect the bitcoin

Altcoin in my opinion is just rubbish, and real property is bitcoin. There are many facts that altcoin only runs a few moments and then disappears, but not with bitcoin. Since its inception until now he is still there and circulating.

It's funny that you are promoting an altcoin and then saying that is rubbish. If you really believe so then you should not promote an altcoin instead. As for OPs question, I don't think too many altcoins is a threat to bitcoin because as long as there are people who believes in bitcoin's existence and use it for investment or for currency then the demand would always be there. Sooner or later, those altcoins that are use for its actual use case would continue to exist while those that are just existing for trading would be gone.

New altcoins will not affect the value of bitcoin, in general, new altcoins will only create crypto market existence always survive. bitcoin has a high popularity, even today some investors don't trust ICO, and they better choose to keep their assets in bitcoin.

in the future, not all altcoins can be used for payments, only a few altcoins have good progress that will be accepted, bitcoin will master every transaction, and some altcoins that are not used for payment will be crypto trading assets or for investments.

No, it won't possible. Everybody must honor the King! Bitcoin is the king and the crypto market leader, so  1700 plus altcoin or if more will come, total altcoin's volume can't be equal to the Bitcoin. Because lots of people don't buy altcoins, they only convert their coins to the bitcoin. If bitcoin transaction speed and cost will improve then 70% of people will move to the bitcoin. So, Altcoin's can't be a threat to bitcoin's existence.

How can too many altcoins pose a threat to Bitcoin. Altcoins are on the market to fulfil the same general goal of Bitcoin which intends to introduce Blockchain to the people and how well it can be utilized to bring more meaning to lives. Altcoins only buttress Bitcoin and do not kill it.

Altcoin have different function than bitcoin. Many altcoin created with different purpose and i think more altcoin can not be a threat for bitcoin. But maybe more altcoin can reducing bitcoin dominance in market because investor will have option to invest

altcoins and bitcoins are still the same because they are both cryptocurrency . what alts can do  btc can can also do ( vice versa )  but yes i agree that bitcoin dominance will be reduced because people can now have the option to choose from a wide variety of alts aside from bitcoin . however , not all alts are worth it because majority of them are only a clone of other existing ones which means they dont have a real purpose and might be dangerous if you invest and hodl them .
