Its time for yet another brief monthly overview of the local boards activity, but this time with a bit longer delay than usual. As always,  all charts and table are made with the help of @DdmrDdmr Merit Dashboard and @TryNinja Ninjastic.space and images uploaded via joker_josue's TalkImg.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan and Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards yet but I hope that's something that will change in the near future because I do believe that they deserve it based on their numbers in the last few years. @theymos & @Cyrus, please take a look at their situation.

Post activity per local board during May 2023

During above mentioned period 16641 posts were made which is a slight increase compared to may April 2023 during which 16496 posts were written acorss 18 local boards. Increase might be slight, but as lonmg as numbers are not going down, for me that is a positive thing.

Once again Russian board remained the most active one, followed by Turkish and German, as usual. No changes at the bottom part of the chart as well, with the standard boards occupying bottom 4-5 spots. Generally no local board experienced huge change compared to April (which is no surprise give very similar amout  of posts written in April and May), with Indonesian board as only one who experienced decent increase (from 856 to 1103 or ~30%).

Local Board post race

Thanks to @bitmover, here is the animated local board post race chart

Number of active members per local board during May 2023

Despite the slight increase of the amoutn of posts written, during May there was a slight decrease in the number of active members; from 1322 during April to 1270 in May which makes it ~4% decrease. Once again Russian board had by far the most active amount of members, followed by Germans and Turks, with members from Indonesia slowly climbing up the ladder and I woulnd't be surprised if they reach Nigerians at thr 4th spot soon.

When it comes to amount of members (percentage wise of course relative to the total amount of members), who wrote 1 post during May, Romanian board is ahead of the others with 60% of such members, followed by Indian (55%) and Spanish (49%) local boards. At the same time, Indonesian has the lowest percentage of those members (17%), closely followed by Portuguese (18%) and Turkish (21%).

In the 2-9 posts bracket, Polish board is ahead of the others with 54% of those members, while Germans are 2nd with 48% and Bangladesh 3rd with 46%. On the other hand,  Romanian  board has the lowest percentage of such members (20%), followed by Arabic (212%) and Croatian (23%) local boards.

In the 10+ posts bracket, Portuguese board is the leader with 46% of those members, followed by Turkish and Indonesian at 44% of such members. Opposite to them are Polish local board with 15% of such members, followed by Greek (18%) and Romanian (20%) local boards.

Merit shared per local board during May 2023

Despite the slight increase in the amount of posts, amount of merits shared went down by 8%, from 9025 in April down to 7306 in May. Its no surprise that due that majority of local boards have fewer merits shared, but one local board stands out that managed to have significant increase and that's Indonesian board that went from 903 merits in April to 1369 during May which makes it a ~50% increase. Kudos guys and hopefully you keep it up!

Merit senders and receivers per local board during May 2023

As always, pretty straightforward chart that is sorted according to the amount of merits shared, and once again Nigerian and Pilipinas boards really stands out which shows that they have large amount of merit senders/receivers relative to the amount of merits shared which could then indicate that they could use more merit sources.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for May 2023

Since amount of merits shared decreased and amount of posts slighly increased, its no surprise that merit/post ratio is slighly less than in previous month but even with that decrease i think that ratio is generally pretty high, with the expection of the few standard names (Nigerian, Pilipinas) that could definitely use more merit sources.

Merit per transaction across local boards in May 2023

Due popular demand (read: fillippone Cheesy) I am including the "merit per transaction" chart to get a litle bit better idea what's going on in each local board merit wise and how members of each board share the merit. Its no surprise that local boards that historically have high merit/post ratio lead this chart as well, but there are few expections like Nigerian board that is relatively high on this chart while being having 2nd lowest merit/post ratio.

The most active members per local board during May 2023

Last but not the least, list of the most active members of 18 local boards. Once again joker_josue from Portuguese  is ahead of the othrs with 280 posts, followed by two members from Russian local board, Smartprofit (244 posts) and Ratimov (203 posts)

I am curious about what global members think about Bangladesh Community?
Based on your current numbers I think that you definitely deserve your own local board and when/if you get it, your numbers will probably go up even more, like it happened when Nigerians got their own local board.

Do you guys think we may have a local board anytime soon?
No one except thyemos and cyrus can really answer that and my guess would be good as anyone else's but if you want to hear my opinion, I would say that it won't happen soon (by soon I mean next few months). I hope I am wrong though.

Maybe, it is very possible, but it just depends on how your local community grows day by day until the acceptance of your local board application. In addition to post statistics, I think the number of active users of your local community will also affect sooner or later about the creation of local board. So make sure your local community continues to be active and get more attention from the post statistics and the number of posters.

I only support it being made, but maybe you and all Bangladeshi users should be patient. How much longer? Of course that is not a question that can be answered with certainty.

Communities marked with * (Pakistan, Bangladesh) don't have their own local boards as of yet and hopefully that will change soon. @theymos @Cyrus, check these guys stats pls. Wink
Thanks for the recommendation, and thanks for the charts as well.
Guys, Look at the stats of Bangladesh Thread. We had 57 Active members last month. The numbers increased by almost 30% in the previous two months. The post count in the Bangladesh thread increased by 30% as well. Look at the other stats as well. We had a local board application that is inactive now. We await an excellent time to bump it up again or start a new application. One of our Prominent forum members will step up once he believes it's the right time. BTC, a coin of today and tomorrow.

It's been a while I visited here. Good work Rikafip and cool for using the image hosting service of one of us here.
I am pleased that the activities of Nigerians hasn't dropped since gaining our local board. It is a sign that the decision of the admins to grant our local board is not undermined and with the rate Nigerians are steadily growing in the forum, they will surely be a positive force in the forum in the future.
Thanks for the monthly update.

Its time for yet another brief monthly overview, this time for the month of April 2023.
Thank you for one more report sir Rikafip.
Our local section had better days for activity, but we had one of the new players injured, so we have some kind of excuse.
When we take in account number of active users than we are not doing that bad after all, and our king is doing all the hard work for us  Wink

I'm glad that the Croatian local board is finally the best at something and that our members like to write on the forum so much, if only we had more members  Grin
I think that if not all then majority of other local boards also have the same issues, lack of new members and that's something that can't be solved easily.

When can we expect our local report?
I will try to publish it either on Monday or Tuesday but can't promise anything as I am on the road at the moment and will stay like that until end of the month.

Rikafip, thank you once again for the very interesting forum statistics of the local boards.
I too, after the last record month, expected a smaller drop in activity and I'm glad to see that it didn't happen.
For quite a long time, we had a trend of declining activity, so I hope that the trend of increasing activity is just starting  Grin
I see you have added some new stats, thank you for that.

I honestly thought that the number of posts this month would increase more significantly. I had the feeling that there had been more movement. But maybe it was more in the Portuguese tab...
Yeah Portuguese local board numbers went noticeably up so no wonder that you thought forum is more active. At the same time, somehow I that forum was less active last month as my I knew that my local board wasn't as active as during March,

I appreciate the recommendation! Thank you for your support.

Its time for yet another brief monthly overview, this time for the month of April 2023.

I am making this away from my home setup (and I recently bought new laptop so still adjusting on keyboard) so apologies for possible mistakes, especially typos. Post activity per local board during April  2023

During above mentioned period 16492 posts were written which is a slight increase from March and 16542 posts. Honestly, I thought that numbers will be lower because March numbers were 20% higher than in February but I am glad that local boards remained with the same activity.

As always, Russian board is far ahead the others with 5027 posts (decrease from March and 5400 posts) followed by Turkish (2671 posts, up from 2250) and German (1548 posts, down from 1731)  local boards, while usual names (Greek, Romanian, Polish) are at the bottom.

Active member per local board during April 2023

While number of posts went slightly up, the number of members who wrote at least 1 post during above mentioned period went down slightly, from 1369 in March to 1322 in April.

No much change when it comes to boards with the most active members; Russian board ahead of others even more than on other charts, follwed by Germans, Turks and Nigerians and the only change in top 5 is Phillippines members reaching 5th spot.

When it comes to amount of members (percentage wise), Greek board had the most members who wrote only 1 post during April (57%), followed by Spanish (46%) and Polish (44%) local boards. The least amount of those members had Croatian board (13%), with at 2nd sport (14%) and Nigerian (21%) local boards.

Romanian board had the most members in the 2-9 posts bracked (57%), followed by Pilipinas, Nigerian and Bangladesh board that al had 47% of such members. At the same time, Spanish board had least amount of those members (27%), followed by Pakistan (28%) and Portuguese (30%) local boards.

Croatian board has the most members (relative to the total amount of active members) that wrote 10+ posts (54%), while Pakistan is 2nd (48%) and Turkish 3rd (45%). On the other hand, Greek had the lowest percentage of such members (14%), followed by Indian (17%) German (19%) local boards.

Merit shared per local board during April 2023

Even though amount of posts even increased slightly, the amount of merit shared went down from 8479 in March to 8025 in April which is a ~5% decrease. Even with that decrease, I think that number is still generally very good.

In this metric Russian board is again ahead of the others, while several big boards had a considerable decrease (German, Italian) of the amount of merits shared. Its promising to see Pilipinas board having a decent number after quite some time and I hope they continue the same in the future because they are an active local board that should have more merits shared than they had in the last year or two.

Merit senders and receivers per local board during April 2023

Straightforward charts whose purpose is to show how many members of merit system each board has, ranked by the amount of merits shared. Once again Pilipinas and Nigerian (and to some degree German) board stick out, meaning they have a lot of members sharing/receiving merit, compared to the totla amount of merit shared in those local boards.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for April 2023

And in the end of this series of charts, merit/post ratio per local board for both April and 12 months period in order to tet the more accurate picture of what's going on since monthly ratio can change a lot, especially on the less active boards.

Generally, majority of boards have a very decent numbers while only few (imho) could use a couple of more merit sources.

Local Board post race

Thanks to @bitmover, here is the animnated local board post race chart

The most active members per local board during April 2023

Last but not the least, list of the most active members across 18 local boards. Like in most months before, joker_josue (329) from Portuguese board was by far the most active in April, followed by two members of Russian board, Ratimov (255) and Smartprofit (206). Kudos guys, keep it up!

Great minds think alike.
I made this exact request to our mutual friends, and he delivered:
Damn. I looked exactly there and somehow I completely missed that last column that shows number of merited posts, thanks a lot! The only problem is the timeframe as he counts it from the moment post got merit and not the moment it was written.

By the way, I don't know if you noticed but you are wearing old signature.

This is what I came up with the new data in @ddmrddmr merit dashboard:

Out of curiosity (after seeing pawel7777 post) I decided to check how many merits is sent per transaction and result is yet another chart. What can i say, I really enjoy making those.  Grin

While I wasn't surprised at all (as a matter of fact I expected it) to see Arabic board at the top of this chart, I was surprised to see some of the local boards that generally have lower merit/post ratio (Russian, Polish, even Turkish)) to have one of the highest merit sent per transaction.

Fig. 12. Merited Post Ratio across local boards

Fig. 13. Merited Post Ratio history for Italian board

Tutto sommato, come ci si poteva aspettare, abbiamo un trend positivo, anche se non esplosivo, Significa che abbiamo raggiunto una sorta di equilibrio, ed oramai la quantità di post meritati è tutto sommato stabile.

Firts graph is the ratio of merited posts, over the total post in various boards. Please note that I cut the value above 1 for readability.

The second graph is the historical path that led the Italian board to to the current meriting percentage.

Hope this helps and bring some nice idea!

@DdmrDdmr I know its a long shot, but is there any way to see percentage of merited posts in each local board?

<...>
I’ve added a column to the "Merit per Post" tab called nMeritedPosts, that counts the distinct number of posts merited within the given board and month.

Notice that the toll is counting the number of posts that have been merited withing the meriting timeframe, not withing the posting timeframe. That is to say, I’m counting based on when the meriting event takes place, not when the posting event takes place.

Note: I'm updating the Dashboard now. Give it 5-10 minutes or so to complete.

However, one thing remains constant and never changes and that is the name of our local champion, right?  Grin
I sure hope that doesn't change as he is a crucial part of our board.  Cheesy

Makes sense. Our Polish board has one of the lowest ratio, I suspect we only have one merit source who is not very active lately.
From what i can see, it looks like your only meeit source is malevolent but as you said he is not very active lately.

The discussion there is pretty clean and spam-free, but, as there are only a few active members there, I think people are hesitant to keep sending merits to the same members too often, as it could be seen as abuse.
I don't think that anyone would see it as abuse as long merit is sent to any decent/helpful post as people got way more relaxed when is comes to how merit is shared.

Still, seeing boards with a ratio of over 1 seems a bit odd, as I can't imagine that (on average) every single post would be worth meriting.
Its more about good posts getting more merits. The main difference I noticed on our local board when we got few more merit sources is while before you would get maybe 2-3 merits for a good post, nowadays you will get like 10 and that's why merit ratio went up a lot.

I was always puzzled by how disproportionate this chart is. What would be the reason for the top boards to have this ratio over 1000% higher than the bottom ones?
Do they have more active merit sources, or is it more about cultural differences and stronger in-group preferences than the others? Or maybe both.
Imho, by far the most important factor is how many active merit sources local board has and after that is probably how clean of spam board is and quality of the members writing there.

My local board (Croatian) used to have one of the lowest merit/post ratios despite the fact that we didn't have spam at all and posts were generally of a good quality (for example our local board had 4 members in CM campaign, afaik more than any other local board). Only after theymos gave us 2 new merit sources our ratio started going up and now its among the highest of all local boards.

I myself was a merit source back in the day but got removed due to inactivity (was away from the forum for >2 years). Thank you for another great report Rikafip.
As far as I remember, until recently we commented on the big drop in activity on this forum, and the drop in the number of active members, but it seems that lately the situation is improving and that's great news for this forum.
Lately, there has been an increase in the value of the crypto market, so maybe that also helped.
A 20% increase in forum posts is a remarkable achievement and I hope that trend continues.

Merit/Post ratio per local board for March 2023

Last but not the least in this series of chart, merit/post raio. Since amount of posts increased by 20% and merits by 60%, its no surprise that blue colour dominates the chart, with only Italian, Spanish and Nigerian boards having lower March than 12 month ratio. Romanian and Arabic and at their usual 1st and 2nd place this and buig surprise this month is Indonesian with 1.19 merits per postthat is a huge increase compared to their usual numbers, as seen on the chart.
